2023-2024 NBA Salary Cap Draft - SECOND Annual Battle for the Wikkid Cup - Preseason Rankings are In! (5 Viewers)

Love the Wemby pick. I don't think he is going to be worth it, but still love it.

Feel like I have tons of options here. Cheaper, not as good, but high potential player? Or all-NBA, MVP consideration player on a slightly discounted contract? So many picks before I pick again.

Gotta go with

1.07 Jayson Tatum - $32,600,060

37th highest paid player who is a top 5 player. Wings are paramount. Can build around him in any number of ways.

Nice pick - the fact he’s $10-$15M cheaper than the other MVP candidates is huge.

Anyone gunna be up early tomorrow that I can send a list to? I'll be without internet access a large portion of the day.

Can someone delete that extra column between the player and team columns on the Master Salary List tab? Makes it a pain to copy and paste onto the Draft List tab.

I like this pick. He is the only other player I would have considered over Doncic and I'm surprised both didn't go ahead of me.

My top 8 picks have all been taken. Here is where I had them:
1 - Jokic
2 - Doncic
3 - Giannis
4 - Tatum
5 - Embiid
6 - SGA
7 - Edwards
8 - Haliburton

The coolest and most complex thing to this is the dance between getting quality players but also getting some good value players. People are going to weight those two competing interests differently and each pick means you may have to change strategy from round to round.

Relax, nerds.

Few different ways to go here, but I'll go with:

1.11 SG Devin Booker, $36,016,200

Other guys I'm looking at here are either less durable, have a glaring weakness I don't want as the cornerstone of my team, are far more expensive, can't be the best player on a championship team, or some combo of these. Happy to start with Book.

@scoobus sent me his top 2 and his #1 guy is available:

1.12 PG Cade Cunningham, $11,055,360

Potential superstar guard ready to make the jump and still on his rookie deal. Cunningham had his 2nd season cut short by an injury and surgery but is primed to be the dynamic playmaker he was expected to be when drafted #1 overall in 2021.

This was the other guy I was talking about in my post.

This could be a great pick. But, he plays for the Pistons, so it probably isn't going to work out.

“Plays” being the key word here.

The 2 I thought were great values were Tyrese and Shai. Nice picks.
SGA makes a million more than Tatum and is not as good of a player.
I had an error on my spreadsheet that I made. I had him at a much lower salary, glad you pointed that out. I had him at like 7 million, I think I accidentally added a row and when correcting it I messed up his link.

He’s still a good pick.
A great pick even.
