I've moved on again without Chubb!!
Now I have Herbert on a bye so I get to ride Kenny Pickett for week 5........oh wait![]()
So you're saying there's a chanceI've moved on again without Chubb!!

PIckett is not necessarily out this week, according to Tomlin

Yep. High side 7 points, low side 0. Steelers just aren't good this season, yet.So you're saying there's a chanceI've moved on again without Chubb!!

In the land of micro-analysis,We currently have 28 contest K's who have jobs (nobody should have chosen Fry, Shudak, Gould, Badgley, York, or Vizcaino)
- The 28 kickers are averaging 7.95 points per game
- The 32 defenses are averaging 6.38 points per game
- Defenses on average score about 75% of kickers, so these numbers are pretty consistent with numbers from year's past
I'm not sure I understand your comment (high side 7; low side 0) . What are you refering to?Yep. High side 7 points, low side 0. Steelers just aren't good this season, yet.So you're saying there's a chanceI've moved on again without Chubb!!

9 contest kickers were on at least 1K rosters, and here is where they currently stand:In the land of micro-analysis,We currently have 28 contest K's who have jobs (nobody should have chosen Fry, Shudak, Gould, Badgley, York, or Vizcaino)

my defenses ($4, $3) have averaged ~8.5
my kickers ($5,$4,$3) have averaged ~17
so...defenses scoring ~50% of kickers...but I've been blessed with exceptional kicker scoring (in the short term, obviously).
Elliott ($5) has counted 3 of 4 weeks. Hopkins ($3) has contributed once. $4 is Jets PK Zuerlein who has not contributed at all because of the loss of Aaron Rodgers
There may be something to be said for spending a couple bucks extra for PK1....but it depends on your confidence level in finding guys like Tank Dell.

Kenny PIckett is averaging 15.49 through 4 games.
Steelers Defense is averaging 10.25 through 4 games.
I'm not disputing the fact that both Pickett and the Steelers have problems, though.
If you can get 14.33 points combined from your K & D position, that would be average. Every K & D have crappy weeks, so you just have to hope you get a decent score from someone. I don't know what you consider a big week popping is, but so far after 4 games, K's have reached 15 points eleven times, and D's have reached 15 points nine times.Kickers 42.7 vs Defenses 35.00 for me.
I think it is sort of the variance thing for me.
Kickers ending up with like 2 points is a disaster that kills you. Whereas with the defenses it seems that a big week popping can save you.

Dang, I took a look at your team, and yea, if you make it past week 5, that's a heck of a roster you've made. If you are going to make that calculated risk of having your only QB and 1 of your 3 RBs on bye the same week, definitely best to make it during the earliest bye week.I've got 3 Ks, but 2 of them (Carlson and Santos) are the only players who have yet to count towards a weekly score for me this season... it's been all Fairbairn instead. Kamara and Michael Wilson finally got on the board for me in week 4 leaving just those 2 Ks yet to count.
My 2 Ds have scored 24 vs. Fairbairn's 47.1, so about 50%.
I'm taking the goose egg at QB this week (only rostered Herbert) but feeling pretty decent about my chances having survived a couple of 0s at RB weeks 2 and 3 with Ekeler out and Kamara suspended. If I can make it through to 6 I'll be feeling pretty good with the QB bye behind me and (hopefully) a healthy Ekeler.
The only thing that can be said about spending megabucks on an expensive kicker is that it's a bad decision. Of the 28 kickers that are currently kicking, you can make 146 different duos for the same price (or cheaper) than Tucker
Same. My kickers and defenses have treated me well, avg 23.8 combined points/week for a $22 investment.Got me feeling good about the 19.425 average I am getting so far from K+D

I'm fine with rostering a $4 or $5 kicker this year. The only thing I am not fine with is rostering 1 kicker for the price of 2. To me that meant all $6, $7, and $8 kickers were off limits. I can see two scenarios where rostering a 1 for the price of 2 kicker could be justified:I dont disagree with the fundamental idea that you shouldn't buy kickers like momentum stocks (because the premiums are not justified)...all I'm saying is that it isn't automatically the best decision to comply with the rule that I must never roster a $4 or $5 kicker...the small difference only has a big opportunity cost if you KNOW how to deploy those dollars elsewhere at the draft deadline.
I also went with a trio of Santos, Hopkins, and Carlson. Nice to see 18.6 from a kicker, and very nice to see 32.3 from my only active QB. I guess I have to settle for 6 from Dotson. All my K scoring has been from Dustin Hopkins and Anders Carlson. This week will be my highest-scoring K week and could be the one where Cairo Santos breaks through. Up over 13 already.
Meh.DJ Moore for my only player last night...49 points....very happy with that.
Same, my only active players last night were Howell and Santos (I still have several active QBs and Ks but likely won't need them). It's not Fields and Moore, but I'm quite pleased.I also went with a trio of Santos, Hopkins, and Carlson. Nice to see 18.6 from a kicker, and very nice to see 32.3 from my only active QB. 64?Last year, BUF was the most expensive D ($7) and the 4th most common with 1681 owners. They finished D13 with 93 points. There were 84 different combos you could have purchased for the same $7 (12 for $3 each x 7 for $4 each). Do you know how many of the 84 combos outscored BUF?
83 out of 84 combos outscored BUF. The only combo they beat was LV/CHI, who finished D30 & D32. BUF beat them by a whopping 2 points through the first 14 weeks, then outscored 8 to 18 in the 3-week finals. They were outscored by all 84 combos in the finals. Did I mention BUF cost $7 and was more common than any $3 team?64?Last year, BUF was the most expensive D ($7) and the 4th most common with 1681 owners. They finished D13 with 93 points. It will interesting to see if Taylor fares better than Moss with Cam Newton Junior at quarterback. Moss was lights out when AR was missing but disappeared with AR started.3 very happy Taylor owners
Did they submit their roster last year?21 Kupp teams out there!
There are no teams with Bijan, Pollard, Zay, Skyy, and Waller, alive or dead.Another stinker from Dotson, plus No ARSB or Herbert today means I’m relying on a core of Bijan, Pollard, Zay, Sky, Waller and an ugly Pickett-Pickens-Warren triple stack against Baltimore … not likely to finish above the cut unless I get a DJ Moore-like performance from someone
Good luck to all!
