DA RAIDERS

I just don’t care.
I'm not sure about that, yet. Release the emails!!! Track the leaker!!!...Snyder got shafted by the NFL,
Man, when you fixate on hating someone... you go all in. You hear or see their name then all you see is red.Who cares. Gruden still sucks. He’s also still an a hole.![]()
How Gruden email leaks led to Snyder's demise
The October 2021 leaks of Jon Gruden's toxic emails triggered a series of events that forced Dan Snyder to sell the Commanders. Sources interviewed by ESPN connect the leaks to Snyder, but they also say a larger cast of people might have been involved.www.espn.com
Yea, from what I have picked up Snyder was protected and this story touches on that. The stuff he (or in the very least was done in his name) with the cheerleaders was absolutely digusting.I'm not sure about that, yet. Release the emails!!! Track the leaker!!!...Snyder got shafted by the NFL,
Meh. I simply said I don’t care. I don’t like gruden. Never did after he left the first time. So you got me there.Man, when you fixate on hating someone... you go all in. You hear or see their name then all you see is red.Who cares. Gruden still sucks. He’s also still an a hole.![]()

If you take a break on that for a half a second you might realize that this story is a whole lot more interesting than how you feel about Gruden.

Don’t find it interesting. Just like Kraft getting a handy. Not interesting. And color me shocked that krafts indiscretions were swept under the rug. SHOCKEDI posted the story here because of the Raider tie ins but the story itself is very interesting in getting a glimpse of the inner workings of the NFL. I don't see how you feel about Gurden, good or bad, being important to the interest of this story. If nothing else for this thread then the relationship between the Raider org and the league but in general there is much more than is interesting about it.

Al traded him away.Meh. I simply said I don’t care. I don’t like gruden. Never did after he left the first time. So you got me there.Man, when you fixate on hating someone... you go all in. Rich men and their toys. I don’t care, nor am I surprised that they are scumbags. Especially when all signs point that way. Snyder is a pos? :gasp: that’s impossible!! He seems like such a nice guy.![]()
I’m aware. After He was no longer a raider. Better? And just fyi, he still left. He also left a 2nd time. How would you like me phrase that departure?Al traded him away.Meh. Course he did. Coaches don't get traded where they don't wanna go.You make it seem like he had a choice to leave or not

You are correct sir, i had to go back and revisit the circumstances of that Tampa tradeCourse he did. Coaches don't get traded where they don't wanna go.You make it seem like he had a choice to leave or not
Al asked him if he wanted to leave, he said yes
You really like the word "odious" don't you? That Gruden thing was a character assassination hit job beyond all character assassination hit jobs outside of politics, and I knew the exact reason why they did it (you can see my comments elsewhere at the time). It was a PR stunt to get out from under Snyder. Odious. I don't care how unsympathetic Gruden is as a figure, this was a hit job perpetrated by either Snyder or the NFL (I'd guess both) to take the sting away from Danny's odious tenure as human being, never mind as owner of an NFL franchise.
We know that most billionaires aren't choir boys, but this guy might just take the cake as the chief exhibit for the wealth tax. An odious business practice led to his fortune and he's done nothing to acquit himself since.
Gruden was a fall guy for a bigger problem in the NFL.
And Roc Nation? Oh my God. LOL. Jay-Z and his eminent domain friends (remember Kelo? That redefinition of the words "public use" -- thank you, Justice Stevens -- was how they got all the land for the Brooklyn Nets arena) are going to salvage the league's reputation by holding them hostage in a race hustle? I nearly just spit the bit. These ******** all deserve each other and deserve to go down in the same ship together.
Mark Davis is a National Treasure! You know there isn’t much hype to the 2023 season when Raider fans are still talking about Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. Kind of sad really. I’m more worried about if our QB1 will suit up, never mind competing for the playoffs. Davis should be the next owner forced out of the League.
Yeah, this season is going to suck, I fear. You know there isn’t much hype to the 2023 season when Raider fans are still talking about Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. Kind of sad really. I am not where close to being a fan of Jimmy G. He is a system QB that has rabbits foot stuck up his rear in his life for everything other than getting hurt. That being said, he is in that system. Assuming we don't fumble Jacobs in some horrific way, I do believe the offense will run better than it did last year.... but there is a very high chance that Jimmy G will miss time and if that happens, unless O'Connell is a revelation and unseats Hoyer- it will be a rough go for those games. Hoyer is not good and he is old but he does know the system well.Yeah, this season is going to suck, I fear. You know there isn’t much hype to the 2023 season when Raider fans are still talking about Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. sure, the optimist in me wants to lean on the “Jimmy G is a winner” and hope he magically stays healthy and maybe we surprise some people. If things go well, I see us at 7-5 at the bye and, heck, maybe something amazing happens.
And can we FINALLY get a year where the D actually shows some big improvements? even a top 16 finish would be a move in the right direction.
Agree… it’s really all about the defense. And overall depth and talent of the team. Apparently to McDaniels and Ziegler, QB is just another position. I’m looking for the next Mike Vrabel, Bruschi, Ty Law, Patrick Chung, Vince Wifork, Lawyer Malloy. That seems to be the way they are building.I am not where close to being a fan of Jimmy G. The big question is can our secondary hold up against anyone? Is Jones going to have some value? Is Wilson as advertised? Can Tillery get push up the middle without being a liability in the run game? Essentially can we not have teams score 30 or 40 on us every game?
I have to wonder how much Belicheat had a hand in all those defensive gems they drafted into NE over those glory years versus the front office/scouting. I may not like him but you can't deny that guy knows defense and seemed to find pro bowlers automatically every draft.Agree… it’s really all about the defense. 1. Gruden and Carr are far out of my mind they aren't current Raiders. You know there isn’t much hype to the 2023 season when Raider fans are still talking about Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. No, the new #4 is going to sling it to Adams all day long!!!!Can you guys trade Davante Adams like yesterday to somebody with a QB who wants him? Interested party here looking on...
This is about as positive as Raider fans get lately. Yeah we got Maxx Crosby but the NFL and refs can neutralize him by not calling holding penalties. No, the new #4 is going to sling it to Adams all day long!!!!Can you guys trade Davante Adams like yesterday to somebody with a QB who wants him? The ONLY reason for the raiders to EVER play Hoyer is out of fear that the Oline could not protect O'Connell. Literally ZERO chance to win a football game with this guy, regardless of whether he "knows the system".I am not where close to being a fan of Jimmy G. I have a gut feeling Jacobs will get a decent contract. Only because this team is in transition at the QB position. If they’re going to establish any identity on offense, it has to start at the Oline and RB.Todays the day for Jacob’s. Barkley, cook and jacobs. Those are some bIG names. I think the owners call their bluffs. Rbs just dont hold the power anymore.
We shall see. Tafur stated the negotiations would come down to the wire but did not give an indication that he believed a deal would be done or not. My bet is that the Raiders will offer slightly more than the $10.1 million on the tag for a few years and team Jacobs will look around and realize Dalvin Cook is unsigned, Barkley hasn't got a deal. Teams are paying RB's less and less. That McD with the NE pedigree has a history of paying RB's even less and using a RBBC approach which they have a stable of RB's to do that with. Yea, I think the Raiders give their offer which is slightly more appealing than the tag and don't budge and Jacobs has to cave or make a big mistake.Todays the day for Jacob’s. Barkley, cook and jacobs. Those are some bIG names. I think the owners call their bluffs. Rbs just dont hold the power anymore.
The one thing that is a big positive for Jacobs is apparently Davis loves him and thinks he is the ideal Raider that we want. When the owner wants something... usually the owner gets it.I have a gut feeling Jacobs will get a decent contract. Only because this team is in transition at the QB position. If they’re going to establish any identity on offense, it has to start at the Oline and RB.Todays the day for Jacob’s. Barkley, cook and jacobs. Those are some bIG names. IMO Mayer is the best overall TE in the draft. A guy like Kincaid may out fantasy produce him but Mayer will be the better NFL TE over the career. I have really no doubts about that.
That was a fun read. Good for himIn case you guys missed it.... Blake Martinez retired from football mid season last year to sell Pokemon cards.... and make bank doing it.
Why would the NFL owners want rid of Davis? The Raiders somehow are still a popular team but are consistent losers. If I was a NFL owner I would love Davis. You get solid ticket sales when they come to town and you get the W.1. Gruden and Carr are far out of my mind they aren't current Raiders. You know there isn’t much hype to the 2023 season when Raider fans are still talking about Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. Kind of sad really. I’m more worried about if our QB1 will suit up, never mind competing for the playoffs. Davis should be the next owner forced out of the League.
2. Davis hasn't done anything wrong. He should not be forced out. He wants to win he just picks the wrong guys to get that done, though I have more faith in Ziegler and McDaniels then I did with Gruden and Mayock.
Jacobs is a great RB but I don’t see the point of keeping him. The Raiders are not a playoff caliber team with or without Jacobs. That is all you need to know when deciding Jacobs future with LV. Let him walk. Trade Adams and rebuild the team so the talent is there in 2-3 years to be competitive.I have a gut feeling Jacobs will get a decent contract. Only because this team is in transition at the QB position. If they’re going to establish any identity on offense, it has to start at the Oline and RB.Todays the day for Jacob’s. Makes sense… Although, as a fan since 1980, I’d like to see him sell. There’s just been too much chaos and upheaval from top to bottom since his father passed. I don’t have any faith in him figuring it out. Al was so good early on at finding young, up and coming coaches. Apparently Tommy Boy wasn’t paying attention. As negative as I’ve become about the direction of the organization, I actually like Ziegler but I realize he’s a package deal with McDaniels. If one fails, they both fail. Why would the NFL owners want rid of Davis? The Raiders somehow are still a popular team but are consistent losers. If I was a NFL owner I would love Davis. You get solid ticket sales when they come to town and you get the W.1. I get it. If they signed Jacobs to a multi year deal, it most likely would be rewarding him for what he did in the past, and it would probably be looked back on as a mistake. And no matter what happens with JJ, I see an increase in Zamir White’s production. Either way, Jacobs will not match his career year last year, whether it be by design, injury or just natural RB production drop off. But, if they don’t keep some of their leaders and star players, this team will look like an expansion team by week 5Jacobs is a great RB but I don’t see the point of keeping him. The Raiders are not a playoff caliber team with or without Jacobs. That is all you need to know when deciding Jacobs future with LV. Let him walk. Most of my memories are of his father completely screwing up the team. January 1984 was a long time ago. Perhaps Tommy Boy wasn't paying attention 40 years ago.. Al was so good early on at finding young, up and coming coaches. Apparently Tommy Boy wasn’t paying attention.
New York Giants' TE Darren Waller was reportedly traded from the Raiders earlier this off-season because the Las Vegas team was "getting tired of him missing games"

That’s true. If Al would have stuck with Shanahan things would have been a lot different in the late 80s to early 90s. But as Ron Wolf once said in an interview, “When winning lawsuits took priority over winning on the field, the Raiders have never been the same.”Most of my memories are of his father completely screwing up the team. Teams can turn around a lot faster than 2-3 years in today's NFL.Jacobs is a great RB but I don’t see the point of keeping him. The Raiders are not a playoff caliber team with or without Jacobs. They are in this weird “no-man’s land” where their season can go either way like you previously mentioned. For the first time in a long time, I have no idea one way or the other which side of the fence the 2023 Raiders will fall to.Teams can turn around a lot faster than 2-3 years in today's NFL.Jacobs is a great RB but I don’t see the point of keeping him. That being said if they lost 17 and landed Caleb Williams or Drake Maye I wouldn't complain. I would also hope Williams/Maye would have Davante Adams to throw the ball to and Jacobs in the backfield.
