2023 New York Jets (1 Viewer)

So legal tampering starts tomorrow and no word from Rodgers?
I think it’s likely going to happen, but they could lose out on a guy like Jimmy G if it doesn’t. Jets can’t make anything easy on us fans (not that this is their fault necessarily).

I dont get it - seems like everything is done but he really doesnt know yet? Patience has a limit and this doesnt bold well for him playing next season if hes agonizing this much for 1 yr. I really thought it would be done by FA tampering - and it still might be but this is frustrating....I give JD credit, Id have thrown out an ultimatum already

Maybe Rodgers maximizing his leverage?

Maybe Rodgers maximizing his leverage?
Is there somewhere I can place a bet?

Because I would like to place a bet on Wednesday, first official day of free agency. Not during the tampering, when it's big news every hour, but on the first day of free agency, which these days is actually not a very strong news day, it's mainly just signing of the deals that have already been leaked.

I think everyone would love to make the big splash on that day, especially Rodgers.

Jets traded a 2024 7th rounder for Safety Chuck Clark. Seems like really good value
You guys will love Clark.

I know it was hard for the Ravens to trade him, as he was a beloved team leader. He's the reason they threw Earl Thomas out. Thomas took a swing at Clark - one of the nicest guys in the NFL - and Baltimore's team leaders went to the front office and said "get Thomas out of here".

Clark's not a great cover guy. He's a thumper. But he plays hard and is extremely intelligent. He wore the green dot for the Ravens as a young guy when they had established vets who could have worn it.

Safeties like Clark aren't valued very highly these days, so I think the Jets got him really cheap. He's probably "really" worth a 4th rounder.

Of COURSE this guy waits until the absolute last possible second.....making his potential "new team" go into the tampering period without an answer.

This is why its gonna suck having (if he blesses us with his presence) to root for him on a personal level.

I was wondering if Rodgers had let Jet/Packers know, like at least this morning, but news had not got out.

Just saw two tweets from various beat writers for those teams and apparently no. They are all saying with an hour to go that Rodgers, Jets and GB have no idea what they are doing.

Unbelievable.

Jets should just call Jimmy G’s agent and call it a day - Rodgers is already showing how much a smug douche he is. Obviously I’m going to be pleased if it’s announced in 20 minutes that he’s been traded to the Jets, but this just can’t sit right with the average fan. He’s actively screwing over 2 teams right now.
How much time does the delicate flower need?

I get the angst from the fan perspective, but no one knows if he has already told the teams what he is doing. People are just speculating and running with he is screwing both teams now. He may have had a deadline, but it didn't mean it would be revealed yet.

That said, this is what you get when you deal with him. It's not like no one saw this coming.

We'll see how this plays out. How we pursue free agents should be telling.

WTF - only the Jets....I saw the report and celebrated.....now no confirmation and conflicting reports - this has been the most frustrating offseason ever - hope it pays off.

I didn't realize how bad the Jets were at QB last year. It can only go up. It wasn't just Zach.

>>Among NFL QBs with 100 pass attempts in '22, lowest passer ratings were Skylar, Zach Wilson, Flacco, new Fin Mike White.<<

Herald beat writer Barry Jackson is not thrilled by the White signing.

First time in the thread?
I am surprised at that list too. We all knew Wilson was horrible, but I would have guessed Flacco and especially White were decent.
Flacco was terrible. He was more worried about getting hurt than making plays. Mike White isn’t very good either but he was much better than Wilson. That shows you QBR is flawed

Can you complete a five-yard screen? If so, get your butt up to the Jets facility. You would immediately be our best QB right now.

So there was a guy on Reddit called Evolutionretrospect. This guy has been posting inside info for quite a while. He knew about Miles Austin and Max Mitchell before it went public.

Today he was calling all kinds of info and signings way before Schefter or anyone else came out with the news. Not just Jets news, but all around the NFL. All of his posts were correct.

Well, then that nerd Michael Nania from Jets XFactor tweeted about this Evolutionretrospect account and the guy deleted his account I guess before he could get into trouble. Definitely either a Jets Insider or knew/was related to someone on the inside. Now the Jets community is going after Nania with pitchforks.

The most important part is that he posted that the trade with GB was complete (before Wingo) and that the Jets had made another signing which they haven't announced yet. I guess it's a player with some association with Rodgers.

I’ve read some rumors that Rodgers wanted one of his guys so be prepared to see Allen Lazard signed. Who knows? At this point it seems obvious he’s coming. He’s not retiring and he needs the Jets as much as they need him.
