2024-25 NBA Thread: Big weekend for Halliburtons (100 Viewers)

Middleton going to Washington is a sad ending for him, imo
I knew he had been with Milwaukee for a long while, but I didn't realize that he is in the all-time top five of most statistical categories in Bucks history.

I hope he okayed the trade, or maybe he was told that Washington will move him somewhere. If Milwaukee management just dropped this on Middleton, then that is a very bad look for them.

Sacramento getting Valanciunas will be a big upgrade on Len in their rotation and might keep Sabonis from getting too run into the ground. They need one more rotation player to make a playoff run I think.

Might be fun to do a little Dallas re-cap of late.

Drapes demand for a stadium that cost a fortune only to make sure sun shining into player's eyes was a great idea.

Yeah, hell with it, let's do more football. After all, it is America's team ya'll.
Scoreboard that footballs could bounce off of. Brilliant.
Parts of the ceiling literally coming apart and falling onto the field right before a game?
Although to be fair, a catastrophe was narrowly avoided (which could be argued as their biggest win in 3 decades).
Speaking of wins, finally getting some meaningless ones to only lower their draft position.
Jerruh is doing his best to make Daniel Snyder look good.
Becoming The Real Housewives of Dallas. Stay tuned.

There's some talk about changing that super intimidating saying about not messing with Texas. Shirts go on sale mañana.

Four of the most popular players to ever play basketball in the reddest of red states were all born in a foreign country.

Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?

LOL at all of this, the intentional and the unintentional.

Hate that Butler gets bailed out of the predicament he had put himself in with his franchise and teammates by being his typical whiny B self.

And the West gets more loaded, which doesn’t seem possible.

It was funny seeing lots of media people trying to talk themselves into the Suns trading Durant for Butler. Never made sense.

Now they Suns are seemingly stuck with Beal, Nurkic, and Durant who just heard he was on the block - all as the most expensive .500 team ever.

Time will tell if the Warriors got better. My big question is whether they got under the second apron because they'll need to add some bodies.

Well the Warriors weren’t a threat with what they had. Adding Butler gives them at least a punchers chance.

Schroeder supposedly getting rerouted to Utah.

Warriors giving Butler a 2year $121M extension through 26-27. Yeesh!

I’m not sure GS is any better now given how Wiggins has been playing this year. And the LOL extension they had to give Butler.

It’s really only a one year extension because the first year is his player option for next year, now at a little higher rate. It’s really not that bad, until of course Jimmy blows up their franchise in a year when they won’t give him more

Good point.

Should have kept all the receipts from the Nurkic/Ayton deal or whatever it was. How you like him now, Desert?

I don’t think anyone thought that Nurkic would be particularly good for the suns

Oh, he flashes. He flashed for them. But he's not the toughest guy mentally or physically.

Warriors giving up a decent first too. So hilarious that everyone was making a big deal about how Curry wasn’t demanding changes, and they go out and make a massive overpay panic trade anyway.

Yea but I guess what else are they supposed to do? They have like 2 years of peak-ish Curry left, may as well make a run at something.

IMO the Warriors went from losing in the play-in to losing in the first round. Was that really worth that extension and Butler demanding a trade this time next year?

They just burned most of their remaining assets to…probably not make a run at anything.

Trade Kuminga and Podz and picks for a real upgrade?

I don't hate if only for the potential entertainment value. GSW barely gets under the first apron so I assume they'll be active in the buyout market.

They've potentially raised their ceiling if everybody is healthy come playoff time (provided they make it that far).

Well I'll be damned. Except for leaving out Kurt Rambis, Vlade Divac and Jack Sickma you down wit it, bruh.

It's a little known fact that Jack Sickwititma lobbied hard for drapes. As did Michael Irvin and Gary Payton.

❤️

Spurs win tonight in a close game at Atlanta, should not have been close, but still some things to learn. BUT, it's obvious what a huge upgrade Fox is. Fun to watch!

I hope they make the play-in and find themselves matched against OKC in the first series, not that I think they'll win, but because it will accelerate Wemby's development. Good times.
