Heat suspend Butler for 7 games
Butler appears to have gotten his way as Miami will look to deal him

-As a Heat fan i don't like that it came to this point. Butler took a fairly undersized and under talented Heat team to the Finals twice and deserves the Heat's respect
I wish Jimmy had not said what he did and forced the trade to happen BUT the Heat had to know how he felt and I heard rumors of him being traded before the season started
To my knowledge he's in the last year of his deal, he's 35? I don't think the Heat are going to get much for him
Hate that they opted to suspend him 7 games
He has a player option for 52 million next year. Any team trading for him has to deal with the possibility that a) they can get him to agree to opt out and take a deal of something like 3/120 or b) he opts into that and they have $52 million in their books for next year and/or c) he is just as agitated with his new team not giving him a new deal so they have to deal with this same kind of circus.
And yes that is likely to depress his trade value
LBL, I knew this day would come because whenever he leaves a team the bridge seems to be burned behind him on the way out
I completely genuflect and thank Jimmy B for reigniting many Heat fans after the LBJ hangover that lasted a long time
Butler is mostly the definition of what the Heat desire in a player
Since the last NBA Finals appearance, the candle has slowly burned out
I feel like Jimmy should try hard to just be a 3rd or 4th option and he likely can achieve a ring with the right team
But if you root for him when he's on your team, you kinda know its not in his DNA to just be a spare part
As a Heat fan, i wish him the best, feel bad the team suspended him, I'm disappointed in Riley and the front office to allow it to sink to this level
This is the M-I-A-M-I Heat dad gummit!
