2024-25 NBA Thread: Game 7!! (79 Viewers)

I have never seen Joker like this. He has been yelling in the huddle tonight and just directing players to do things. I mean when your coach looks like Murr from Impractical Jokers someone has to lead, but wow was he vocal.

Total props to Denver’s response tonight. Another Joker triple double and Pickett showed out.

Never seen anything like that Luka return game to Dallas. How can you live with yourself if you’re Nico? Not only did he have to sit there and watch Luka drop almost 50, but did so while the crowd loudly cheered every bucket Luka made and then mixed in some “FIRE NICO” chants to boot. That was glorious and depressing all at the same time.

It would be beautiful if zero fans showed up for the next Mavs home game.

The Shaq led TNT show with Vince Carter and Candace Parker that talked about the Malone firing is awful. Please none of that during the playoffs.

That was awesome to see but I think Nico is just a pawn/scapegoat. No way he trades Luka on his own accord. That being said, he should have got a much, much better haul. Still laugh he didn't even get Reeves or Knecht

I can't stand that group either :poop:

Two things. I am starting to come around on the Clippers being a wild card to make the conference finals and it was nice to see the Pistons win a game where both teams tried. I was getting worried that they were just happy to be here.

Assuming the T Wolves win this game, the 3rd through 8th seed in the West will be separated by two games. I really wish we had another two weeks in the regular season.

Healthy Kawhi is still a thing. His numbers are all-NBA level when he's actually playing.

Healthy Kawhi is still a top 5 player in the league. The problem isn't talent.

Crazy stat. This is the first season since 2010 where Kevin Durant won't be in the post season in a year where he played at least 50 percent of the games.

According to Basketball Reference, here are the projected percentages on how things will finish over the last 2 games. Highest probability listed in parenthesis.

LAL can finish anywhere from 3rd to 5th (88.9% 3rd) . . . HOU (56% to win based on ESPN BPI, at POR (72.6%)
LAC can finish anywhere from 3rd to 8th (41% 5th, 11% play in) . . . at SAC (54.1%), at GSW (39.7%)
DEN can finish anywhere from 3rd to 8th (22.8% 6th, 39.4% play in) . . . MEM (60.4%), at HOU (49.3%)
MIN can finish anywhere from 4th to 8th (39.1% 4th, 21.3% play in) . . . BRK (89.0%), UTA (91.6%)
GSW can finish anywhere from 4th to 8th (28.7% 6th, 54.7% play in) . . . at POR (78.5%), LAC (60.3%)
MEM can finish anywhere from 4th to 8th (49.8% 8th pre play-in, 73.5% play in) . . . at DEN (39.5%), DAL (67.4%)
SAC 95.8% to finish 9th pre play-in
DAL 95.8% to finish 10th pre play-in

In the East, IIRC, the only thing worth noting is DET can still catch MIL for the 5 seed with victories in a home and away set against MIL. (66.3% to win at home and 52,9% on the road).
ATL 84.9% to finish 8th pre play-in
CHI 81.9% to finish 9th pre play-in
MIA 90.2% to finish 10th pre play-in

Thanks for this - I was going to relook at my predictions for the West from last week, this helps.

FYI - I believe Pacers can still catch the Knicks at 3 in the East

Relatively pleased with how the Magic season went, assuming they win one of their play in games to get into the tourney. Finished around .500 while Paolo and Franz missed a ton of games and Suggs basically missed the year. They only played like 3 games together. I think Paolo has taken the leap. Should have a bright future if they can find the PG or Black develops into it and they need another shooter.

Looks like we get some NBA Crunch Time (NBA TV version of Red Zone) tonight, but it’s only from 6:30pm-7:30pm pacific. With everyone playing tonight, it would be awesome if they did a live standings table like they have in soccer.

Holy moly, why did I not see this anywhere? I was pretty much off of this forum/thread this past weekend and early in the week, and ESPN definitely didn't air it.
Lol.

Is AI really that difficult for people to decipher? They still haven't completely fixed the uncanny valley stuff with the eyes and mouth but the voice is creepy good.
 for real? i mean, i've only had maybe 2-3 sips of coffee here this morning

color me baffled, AI is absolutely nuts

Anytime you can shoot 2% worse from three then the next worse team is not a good season. They are shooting 31.6% from three. That is so bad

Did you miss the part where all the good players are dead or died.

They seem to be turning things around at the right time as well. I haven't watched them recently but I wouldn't want to face them in the first round. Paolo and Franz are enough to move the needle in a 7 game series.

Franz 29.5%
Paolo 32.0%
Suggs 31.4%
Carter 23.7%
Black 31.2%

Those guys played over 8000 minutes combined and shot nearly half the team's threes (1211 3PA) and collectively shot under 30%. That is bad.

Also, just kinda ****ign with ya. I like this Orlando team but man they gotta learn to shoot

Looks like the East seeding is set now:

1. Cavaliers
2. Celtics
3. Knicks
4. Pacers
5. Bucks
6. Pistons
7. Magic
8. Hawks
9. Bulls
10. Heat
