2024 Cowboys Season Thread - We even suck at tanking. (3 Viewers)

Everyone was laughing at me to start the year, when I said don’t sign Dak long term and shop Parson’s. I have no issues with Lamb. A good pierce to have for a new QB.

Now - look at the ****ty diaper Jerry has us sitting in.

you should be happy the season has imploded the way it has. it forces major changes. if they went 12-5 or 11-6 again it would continue to be ground hog day.
they really need to lose out and get the best pick possible

Yeah, it sucks but this is the best thing that could have happened. Too bad there aren't any 4th round picks to use on the rebuild.

This week I have had several emails from companies about chances to win Cowboys tickets. I have rarely seen this before. Now that the team sucks I guess they have to start giving away tickets.

lol at 'win Cowboys' tickets'. What's second place, two Cowboys' games? ;)
The best meme I saw so far said “2 tickets $75 and you get to stand on the sidelines and call 2 plays”

I’m going to the Boys@Skins game Sunday. I always take a friend of mine who’s a Skins fan. He's endured so many *** beatings over the years I can’t crap out of this one.

Take it like a man - let him have his moment.

You’re a good friend.

This team is my FF anti christ. All year long. This week it’s having Aubrey (what was with the online blocking on the first one) and then going against McLaurin. Giving up an 84 yard TD pass that was potentially game tying with 20 seconds to go was one of the biggest defensive breakdowns in NFL history. Someone should get fired for that alone.

To expose how truly stupid Jerry is - here is our record with our “sun home field advantage”.

Cowboys are 29-29 at AT&T in afternoon games.

Cowboys are 48-25 in noon and evening games when the sun is not a factor.

That is a +23 game difference when we aren’t playing in Jerry’s sunbath.
Interesting stat.

I suspect however that a lot of the Cowboys tougher games get slotted in the afternoon slot to show nationally. When there are usually only 3-4 afternoon games and Denver, Vegas, Seattle, LAC are going to be in that mix frequently, you can have Dallas facing Carolina in a late afternoon slot.

This year they put NO, Atlanta, and Wash early (17-17) and Baltimore, Philly, and Detroit late (26-7)

Seriously though, no one is going to get fired, even if they had lost due to the defensive breakdown. Even the guy who should be relieved of his duties will not get the axe.

Need some serious help tonight, fellas.

Lots of money on the line, across several Leagues.

Tying all scenarios together, would it be possible that, playing at home, reasonably well-rested, with a relatively healthy defense and offense, vs a relatively weak D that...that Cooper rush has a night reasonably close to his ceiling, that Cooks and Ferg eat well, and the defense plays a good football game, (but not fantasy football good), and keeps Burrow and Chase from blowing up too much?

Also, how healthy is Ferg, and will be take over as #Alpha Cowboys TE, or did Schoon do enough/is Ferg enough at risk that they might platoon?

Mulling Ferg vs Cooks in TE premium, where only 6 total points gets me a lucrative victory.
Would normally go Ferg all day, but having thoughts about him getting his bell rung again and that's that for the night...

...but the Bengals sure do suck at covering the TE, and Cooks feels very boom/bust.

TIA

Ferguson practiced in full leading up to this game. If I had this decision I’d be starting him. It’s not a no brainier though imo
Good luck

ETA- what is TE premium…1.5 ppr? So 3 catches 15 yds = your 6 pts?

Sat there staring at the Cooks line in the box score (1/3/1td =7.3pts) for what felt like an eternity as the 4th quarter wound down, .3 points short of where I needed to be...
Got what I needed from Ferg ( his 3rd catch) on the second-to-last play of the game!
Whew!

Survive and advance.
Survive. And. Advance.

As a 'skins fan, I strongly dislike the Cowboys, but in big-picture thinking, I think the NFL is infinitely better when both Teams are good.
Sucks for you guys that right when we're starting to resemble a football team again, you're having an off-season.

Cooper Rush sucks, and the Cowboys must be hiding how bad Lance is, for him not to be getting any run.

The only reason Lance is still on the team is that Jerruh doesn’t want to admit that he set a 4th-round pick on fire.

I honestly don't think he learned his lesson. Case in point: He burned another 4th round pick a few weeks ago! Again!

I don't mind Jerruh burning draft picks. He has been doing it for years. What is more amazing to me is that sometimes he hits on a pick during the actual draft. I am looking at you, Mr. Parsons.

Looking at continuing our long, steady march down the line of mediocrity.
Makes the playoff debacles of the Dak era even more painful. We had a window, and it has been slammed shut.

Another win last night and this one after they find out they were eliminated from the playoffs. And there was some HITTING in this game. Good for them

Cowboys won, eagles lost…good day imo

Watching their fans argue about who should get the blame is

Merry Christmas my Cowboys brothers !

You said it brother! Who was that Troy Polumalu clone out there laying wood?

REALLY enjoyed seeing hungry guys get a chance to play and good defense is always better than good offense.

Merry Christmas fellas!

Someone should start an offseason thread.

I won’t be posting much on Cowboy’s stuff until proper changes are made.

Final thought from me for a bit….the Houston Texans have more playoff wins than the Cowboy's since 1996.
