I don’t think so. Staff loves Reynolds. I believe he will take the Monty role but slightly reduced as we will see more Gibbs. Mo may get some carries but I’d be surprised if he overtook Craig.

Not even sure he's healthy atm. Came in rehabbing a college injury as a priority UDFA., impressed in camTV but had another knee issue. He was let go with an injury settlement prior to final cuts.
With Dan Skipper signing to 53-man - that's distinct from promotion as it guarantees 3 game checks at the vet minimum - they had a practice squad slot open. IIRC he is not a special teams guy so unlikely to be active on game day. Probably stick with Devine Ozigbo as the RB3 bc he has a 4-phase ST role.

Handshake deals are common. Don't hear people talk about it ever but I read a Ravens beat writer doing a prediction breakdown of their projected 53-man. “The Handshake Crew” *wink* *wink* happens every year.
You cut a vet bc you can only use IR-R on guys who make the 53-man. They cut Craig knowing Julian Okwara was going to move to IR-Return. Handshake agreement they would get him back after they made the move, as long as he promises not to go anywhere.

Been watching the Ravens All-22 game films, really impressed by Geno Stone. 4th year S out of Iowa.
KR/PR Devin Duvernay is the best in the league IMO. Very dangerous, can flip the field if Detroit’s gunners are not on point.
Lamar is playing very well but holy cow do they have inexplicable breakdowns in the red zone. Flowers is an impressive little receiver, great route runner who is impossible in man coverage. Andrews still doing Andrews things.
They are a ferocious hitting team on STs and Defense. If there were a way to objectively measure bruises inflicted these MFers would be 1st in the league (I haven’t watched film on every team though.)
Surprisingly they have been at times a mistake prone team. They can be their own worst enemy.
Ravens haven’t played a home game in four weeks (9/24.) The last one left a bitter taste - pissed away the Colts game week 3 v Gardner Minshew, 19-22 in OT. Lost fumbles by K Drake (no points) and Lamar on a sack (FG.) Lamar running well and the offense looks completely different than the previous OC - LJax is very efficient & effective on short passes.

Stone became a core STer while waiting his turn for defensive snaps. He's making the most out of them now.
Jackson has been the most accurate I've seen him this year. That Pittsburgh game really hurt his numbers, but that's on his receivers not him. His biggest problem has been fumbles.
The defense has been stout, and that's with a ton of injuries.

And been getting healthier.
I need a chart to keep track but last count I think we have had 20 players miss a game due to injury. 6 season ending injuries (unless CJGJ really does make it back from torn pec surgery to help out in the playoffs.) 7 starters, including three starting OL.
Hell, we lost the RG + LT concurrently, RT Penei had to switch sides for a few weeks, 6th OL (Glasgow) played RG, 7th OL (Nelson) started RT and lasted about 18 snaps before his season ended, 8th OL (6’9” Dan Skipper up from the practice squad) came in to play 13 snaps before turning an ankle, 9th OL (6th round pick Colby Sorsdal - who repped at G all summer) finished out the RT carousel. Played well for being 4th string RT.
***** ***** *****. Nope. That’s the NFL man. NMU has to be a mindset. You keep 69 players bc you need them all.

I don't think we'll make the second chart, not this week - those games all have a point differential between 35 and 45. But I could see us posting a statement game (17 or more) for our second blowout win.
They are the most complete team in the NFL right now. By DVOA, the 4th best offense and the 3rd best defense. The injury report is the lightest since Week 1, with only Monty & Jonah declared out. Branch and Gibbs returning after missing 2 games, with the added bonus Paschal could be activated from IR-R.
No disrespect to the Ravens; they have a very good defense, and Lamar is having his best season passing (and still very dangerous running.) It's not even about the talent level or coaching disparity; goodness, John Harbaugh is as good as it gets, both coordinators are upper tier.
I just think Detroit is due to have a crisp game with very few MAs. Could be offbase, this is by no means an easy one, but I think they are playing with a lot of confidence right now in all three phases.

To be fair, his level of play changed drastically somewhere around the middle of last year. He was not good his first season in Detroit.

I think that after the doghouse treatment from McVay the Lions made great efforts to build his confidence and play to his strengths and also got him weapons to throw to.
I vividly remember a joyous Goff running and jumping off the field after the late 4th quarter rally that beat Minnesota for his first Lion victory.
You would have thought he was a rookie QB celebrating his first win as opposed to a veteran QB who has been to the SB

I was down on him early due to his unwillingness to throw the ball downfield and against tight coverage.
In retrospect I can see Goff’s improvement coinciding with Campbell replacing Lynn for Ben Johnson at OC and getting some weapons mid season with the emergence of St Brown and getting Josh Reynolds.

I consume virtually no MSNFLM. With the proliferation of quality content providers available as podcasts and on YouTube, there is no reason to ever again tolerate the slums of ESPN, NFLN, or any major news corps.
As we used to say back in my days of being in telecom, “The difference between us and Verizon is we suck less.” They all blow chunks. IMO.
But it seeps into my feed. The IG, X, & YT algorithm send me that hot garbage & like a moth to the bug zapper I click on it.

This one’s really important to me, my closest friend is a Ravens fan and we have semi regularly embarrassed ourselves against them. I’m absolutely desperate for us to go in there and put on a clinic across all 3 phases
A look back at Brad's first draft.
Round 1 (7th overall): OT Penei Sewell, Oregon.
Grade A. Dominant force on the OL. Should be sniffing all-pro status soon.
Round 2 (41st overall): DT Levi Onwuzurike, Washington
Grade D. Has never gotten over his back injury. Only seeing limited snaps in his third season and not producing much when he does.
Round 3 (72nd overall): DT Alim McNeill, NC State
Grade A. Took three seasons, but has stepped up big time. One of the best interior lineman in the league. For the third round, a steal.
Round 3 (101st overall): CB Ifeatu Melifonwu, Syracuse.
Grade C. Spot player. Inconsistent. Not someone you want starting, but decent depth piece.
Round 4 (112th overall): WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC
Grade A+. The steal of the draft. Perhaps the best slot reciever in the league.
Round 4 (113th overall): LB Derrick Barnes, Purdue
Grade B. Slow to develop, but has finally become a solid starter. For the 4th round, that is very good.
Round 7 (257th overall): RB Jermar Jefferson, Oregon St.
Grade C+. He was a decent sub and STer. Wasn't good enough to hang around. But a 7th rounder to even make the roster is a win.
A very very good, but not outstanding draft. 3 guys who should be Pro- Bowlers and a solid starter. The Levi pick was the only real bummer. A great start to the rebuild process.

Lets be honest, it takes some good fortune too. If Brad or any GM knew St Brown would turn out like he did they would have drafted him first or second rd for sure. Right now Gibby and Williams may never reach the production St Brown is giving the Lions.
So swap St Brown out for Levi and we are still happy. Levi being a bust in the 4th does not seem so bad. That being said if Levi was a star too it only helps matters.

The draft haul was great by any measure, and by Lions standards easily one of their best in history. But missing on a high pick takes it down a notch. Like this year, Branch and LaPorta will easily be top 15 in any hindsight re-draft. But Gibbs and Campbell still need to pan out into key players to make this an outstanding draft.

Trues, right now Branch and LaPorta would be first rounders, Gibby and Campbell second rounders. Just swap them out.
Sewell would be taken 1 to 3 picks earlier in 2021. Agree with Branch, but not sure about a TE going top 15, definitely 1st though. Based on what we've seen, Gibbs would go 3rd or later, but there's still time for him to show more.

I think LaPorta would go in the 20-30 range first round now. Branch for sure would be in first round somewhere. 15-20 range.
Campbell would not be taken in round 1. Not that he is a bad player, he is a solid LB. Solid LBs don`t go in the first round, only dynamic LBs do and there are not many of those. I agree Gibbs would not be taken in 1. So we got basically got the same players but in the wrong order. That makes a big difference on rookie contracts.
I keep doubting Gibby for a reason. Every time I doubt a player they seem to have a big game. This is Gibbys turn..lets go.. 150 combined yards tomorrow 1-2 TDs!!

This was a tough one to digest. Disappointing in so many ways. With SOL a loss like this would not have bothered me a bit. This one does as this team is too good to lose like that. Reality is it should have been 35-0 at half. That just does not happen in the NFL.
I thought going in it would be a 50-50 game. One that could go either way. I could handle a 27-24 loss, 31-27. Tough road losses happen to good teams. Goff was swarmed today. Do not blame him at all. O-Line had a rough game. Gibby showed some flashes late. Jamo still looks lost out there. TJ Lang said he thinks Jamo ran wrong route on the Goff INT. Goff though he was going opposite way, was not open either way and had no impact on result but needs to be cleaned up fast.
Time to regroup. Good thing is the schedule lightens up in Lions favor. Just need to get healthy. 11-6 wins the division. 12-5 even better.
