Eh, I looked at this. I'm pretty maxed out on weeks 8-12 byes for my liking. The only $4 D that has a good bye week for me is Cincy and are they really any better?

I doubt this is my final team, but just in case.

Stopped tinkering over the weekend as I felt this was a rock solid team. Looked at it again today and have some serious doubts.

Feels like I am one of the few who believe in Cam Ward this year. Picked 3 QB as just two make me nervous, especially Stroud and Young. Hoping Stroud just had sophomore blues last year.
Cook should cook again, but seems like I am too dependent on rookies and Chubb could bust. Just seems like Harvey is going to have a monster year.
I like my WRs, but in my drafts I avoided Moore and went after Odunze instead. Sutton is past his prime, but hoping he gets peppered with targets.
TE - Too expensive for the top tight ends, so hoping this lower priced guys can do it for me.

Going with 2 midrange QBs that I could fit in my budget and who have different byes than my big guns at other positions. I'm thinking Herbert has a reasonable weekly floor and Williams is my "shoot for the ceiling weeks" guy.

I had Henry and Brown at RB from Day 1 until today, when I decided having Mason and JCM as my only injury alternatives wasn't enough (I think the last 3 years I've been eliminated because of RB injuries). So, I tweaked other areas (including dropping Coker who I said I wasn't dropping) to transform Henry and Tahj into Henderson and Montgomery. Neither is Henry, but both will provide a stable floor every week and have the potential of being jackpots if their running mate is injured. As a bonus, I don't have to deal with the guilt of rooting for a Raven every week.

IIRC the year I washed out in week 14 was because I had a K get hurt, only took 2, and week 14 was the healthy one’s BYE. I missed the cut by like 2 points.

I’ve harbored a grudge against kickers ever since.

I'm normally an 18-player guy but got 23 this year as I upped the quantity at RB and WR spending $12 on 4 cheap WRs versus spending it on one player. At least I have 2 QBs this year although having just one last year allowed me to survive pretty late (week 11?) in the contest despite having CMC. I spent more at RB this year than I would have liked but I found the cheap options to be compelling.

This is admittedly a pretty ho-hum roster, but I built it with survival in mind rather than trying to score the most points.

When you boil it all down, survival is the goal in this contest, as you need to do that for 14 weeks in order for any of your
points to actually count.

Bye weeks are front loaded fairly well, with the greatest numerical risk in weeks 5-7 when the cut line percentage is just 20%.
I manage my bye week risk in terms of potential projected points on the bench, (rather than cap dollars on the bench, as that metric is
irrelevant).

It features a Stroud-Kirk stack, a Darnold-Kupp stack, and a Rodgers-Freiermuth stack. I was tempted to go 2 QBs (stud and dud) rather
than 3, but I felt that statistically my survival odds are better overall with 3. Tahj Brooks is Chase Brown insurance.

The lowest return on investment in this contest is with RB. So I tried to spend only what I felt I had to in order to get 2 usable
scores at RB each week. 3 decent guys but not the best, plus one cheap guy with upside, and $4 worth of insurance on Chase Brown.

I see this roster getting most of its FLEX scores from WR and TE, which overall have the best return on investment of the skill positions.
But this year I found more individual player values in WR rather than TE. I felt the opposite was true last year. I went back and forth between
4 and 5 TEs, and eventually dropped Ertz, due to bye week considerations.

I hate that I did not roster some players I really like, because they would not fit into my bye week strategy. When I was tempted, I stayed
the course by trusting the numbers, and my bye week logic.

This year I went with 29 players, which is my largest roster ever. My previous high was 26.

Now, just like everyone else, we will hope for fewer injuries this year than we've seen in the past.

Every best ball ranking i have looked at has Fields as a top 10 QB. Im kinda surprised there aren't that many submissions with him on the rooster. Agreed that it is a risk though.

all it takes is a coaching staff that's willing to play to his strengths, and to run the air out of the ball. he needs 6-8 designed runs per game and play action under center, with very limited shots downfield. 35-40 rush attempts per game not including his designed runs. its non-trivial figuring out if the coaching staff will have the discipline though.
