Every best ball ranking i have looked at has Fields as a top 10 QB. Im kinda surprised there aren't that many submissions with him on the rooster. Agreed that it is a risk though.

Not saying he doesn’t have upside. His floor is somewhat less than desirable.

all it takes is a coaching staff that's willing to play to his strengths, and to run the air out of the ball. he needs 6-8 designed runs per game and play action under center, with very limited shots downfield. 35-40 rush attempts per game not including his designed runs. its non-trivial figuring out if the coaching staff will have the discipline though.

Which came first? The coaching staff or the QB?

Ah, yes. Yeah, I realize I'm taking a risk there, which is the opposite of my normal strategy (big roster, coverage everywhere). I had 3 QBs in most of my builds, but decided I wanted one elite QB; the dice have been rolled.

Strategery - Three top guys at QB,RB, and WR. Three different bye weeks. A couple of mid range guys and a bunch of lottery picks. Throw ‘em against the wall and see what sticks. Went an extra buck on K and D/ST because my own rankings are where Boswell and the Chiefs should cost a couple of bucks more.

Had two QBs, but it made me nervous, so I’m taking three and betting against Stafford’s back. My roster construction (no matter how I try to get away from it) always winds up 3QBs, 5RBs, 6WRs, 3TEs, 3PKs and 3D/ST’s.).

I finished sixth last year, ending up in the money for the first time since this contest started. So I’m certainly not proclaiming this to be gospel.

Went back and forth on Fields. He is a perfect QB2 in this contest. Herbert also underpriced at $15. Ended up going with Rodgers + Hopkins for $15 instead.

Thank you for all you do with the live scoring. It adds so much to the contest and we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

The contest locks around midnight tonight. After the processing is complete at FootballGuys, they will post the list all the participant's rosters sometime tomorrow morning. When we look at that list, we can find our team and then see the "TEAM NUMBER" assigned to it by FootballGuys. That was the number you used to identify each of our teams on your website. But I have no idea how you link those numbers to the scoring database that gets updated live on game days.

I usually go with more than 20 players but I usually don't make it to the playoffs so I decided to go with a slightly smaller roster this time. I really focused on having early byes and not having too many players with the same bye week. My smaller roster will be more affected if injuries occur so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I noticed that I had made a mistake on my entry, failing to include one of the team defenses that I had updated on my spreadsheet.
So I had to make an edit after the deadline.

But no big deal. I'm still in the contest, just not in contention for whatever an "avatar badge" is.

I see the black fonts from time to time on this board in copy/pasted text. I think the light/dark mode font colors get confused. Guessing though…
