So Jeanty to the Raiders at 1.06?

So Jeanty to the Raiders at 1.06?

I think JAX could take him
He fits Carroll’s MO.Assuming Ward, Carter, Hunter gone, I'm hoping for Jeanty, simply because BPA. I don't mind favoring a position, but he may be the best player in the draft. At #6, that's a good deal.
I think JAX could take him. Then Jalon Walker , Graham, that OT, that's all fine. I wouldn't be mad at McMillan.
I don't think a trade down is going to be offered.

Jax is sure picking up steam with media. It would not be quite as stunning to me as Penix last year but man are the Jags sorry on defense across the board. The run defense is 25th in the league which makes it their strength on that side of the ball since their pass defense is dead last. They only have two players on the team with more then 3 sacks and not one single dude on the whole team who had more then one interception last year. They somehow managed to only be in the bottom 20's in points per game but that defense needs some dudes in a bad way.
I agree 99%... only area if slight disagreement is that I can see a chance for NO offering to move up for Sanders.Assuming Ward, Carter, Hunter gone, I'm hoping for Jeanty, simply because BPA. I don't mind favoring a position, but he may be the best player in the draft. At #6, that's a good deal.

He didn't have two "crappy" years. He graded out as the #13 tackle in 2023 and #14 in 2024. In 2024 he was uncharacteristically terrible in both sacks and penalties (7 each) but he still graded out at 80.6 overall.A $7.75M pay increase after two crappy years is hardly a lowball offer, many guys are cap cuts in that scenario. $18M is LT10 money in 2025 and it's got potential to turn into LT3. His last contract averaged $18M and he hasn't come close to a positive return on that. It's not criminal to ask a guy to not get a massive raise for stinking it up.I hate this take. Nothing personal of course.
A low ball, prove it deal like that for one of the anchors of this team for the last eight years causes more damage in the locker room than is gained from financial savings. Financial savings which the Raiders can easily stomach at the moment.
This team isn't so deep on the D-line to ignore the BPA. If Graham is available I would hope they sprint that pick to the podium. It still hurts every time I see Jalen Carter make a big play for the Eagles. If we weren’t “stacked” on Dline (as stacked as the sad sack Raiders can be at any position, I guess), I’d love to get that DT Mason Graham kid from Michigan.
Graham is my second choice after Jeanty of the expected likely options at 6 but that is my third choice with trade down in between Jeanty and Graham. This team isn't so deep on the D-line to ignore the BPA. It still hurts every time I see Jalen Carter make a big play for the Eagles. If we weren’t “stacked” on Dline (as stacked as the sad sack Raiders can be at any position, I guess), I’d love to get that DT Mason Graham kid from Michigan.
Alternatively there would also be a bigger market to trade up for Graham than Shedeur, Jeanty or Membou.
When asked about potentially drafting Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick, Raiders GM John Spytek said that valuing the running back position is in his “core.”
Spytek philosophized on the running back position’s current state and celebrated his alma mater, the University of Michigan, for continuing to value the position. Although he refrained from opining on Jeanty, specifically, Spytek said, “when you sit, where we sit,” ostensibly referencing the No. 6 overall pick, “the idea is to add elite players at any position.” Jeanty certainly qualifies, and he would understand command a first-round fantasy pick were he to play under head coach Pete Carroll and OC Chip Kelly
If he's grading out this well then I change my tune but something isn't jiving here. Those stats in penalties (100th/140 Ts) and sacks given up (126) last year are terrible. He didn't have two "crappy" years. He graded out as the #13 tackle in 2023 and #14 in 2024. In 2024 he was uncharacteristically terrible in both sacks and penalties (7 each) but he still graded out at 80.6 overall.
This I agree 100% with. Getting any elite player is never a problem, and pressure from IDL is priceless. I hate so much those cowards that passed on Carter. This team isn't so deep on the D-line to ignore the BPA. If Graham is available I would hope they sprint that pick to the podium. It still hurts every time I see Jalen Carter make a big play for the Eagles.

I have no idea how pff grades are calculated and I thought exactly the same thing. How can he be the 100+ tackle in penalties and sacks surrendered but still top #14 tackle in the league? If he's grading out this well then I change my tune but something isn't jiving here. Yep I can definitely get behind this as long as we're not overly exposed long-term.Miller is thebestonly thing to come out of the Gruden 2.0 regime and I am happy if they reward him for his years of service. Particularly as he's only 29 years old.
I doubt it will truly be long term. If they sign him to a four year deal I would bet my first born child it is actually a two year deal with plenty of outs and phony back end money/.Yep I can definitely get behind this as long as we're not overly exposed long-term.Miller is thebestonly thing to come out of the Gruden 2.0 regime and I am happy if they reward him for his years of service. True, but most of these four year deals have dead cap money even if the team is not paying out actual cash those years after the player is released. If they did extend him I'd rather see an actual 1-2 year extension than a phony four year with dead cap hits in years 3 and 4.I doubt it will truly be long term. Very few contracts in the NFL are truly long term and most of those come from the Cowboys.
Yes, yes I get it. They do have the money and the cap space which is why a phony four year deal should not be necessary.Yes, yes I get it. We'd also all like to see them trade down from every draft pick to acquire more draft picks then draft seven future hall of famers in the seventh round every year.
They have the money, they have the cap space, they have very little by way of future cap exposure. They can afford it, if he is really looking for a new market level deal they should give it to him.
My second born is a bit of a pita. Mind if I swap him in for your first born?I would bet my first born child…

Okay, maybe they can trade down with Chicago. Everyone thinks the Bears would love to land Jeanty.I'm sure there is a middle ground to be had here and he is under contract. I highly doubt the only two options are either to not pay him and he sits out the year or to pay him top LT money. He is supposedly planning to skip the voluntary part of the offseason program right now. Let's relax on the Miller situation and get ready for Thursday.
A few days ago I was thinking it was very likely the Raiders would be drafting Jeanty. I'm a lot less inclined to think that now. The Bears do seem to love him according to most reports and may trade up and I'm starting to think there is a decent chance that the Jags will take him if they stay put.Okay, maybe they can trade down with Chicago. @travdogg likes DT Derrick Harmon out of Oregon more than Graham. He's about 30 lb heavier, an inch taller and, apparently Graham has very short arms for a guy his size.which means if we don't move then we take Mason Graham and I'm ok with that.A few days ago I was thinking it was very likely the Raiders would be drafting Jeanty. I've read that too about Graham (32 inch arms) but I mean mocks still have Will Campbell going early with his sub 33 inch arm length as well. I doubt he makes it past the Jaguars but I feel like Graham would be the run stuffer we've missed for so long and really free up Max to do Max things.@travdogg likes DT Derrick Harmon out of Oregon more than Graham. Oh, and Max Crosby has an arm length of 32 7/8ths and we all know how that has worked out.
I think most of us are so scorned from blowing the first round pick so many times that there are only a hand few of names that would really piss me off. Will Johnson may be a great corner but I really hope we don't do that like some of the mocks are starting to predictAgreed. Under the same logic, is be thrilled with Campbell at #6 too.
Harmon's really good as well. Coincidentally they both gave OSU fits - Graham in our biggest moment of coaching stupidity ever and Harmon twice, the second against an OL that we had firing on all cylinders and he still had an impact. They weighed in a 296 and 313 so it's about 1/2 the stated weight difference but Graham's play shows zero size liability and I'm guessing he won't have an issue putting on good NFL weight once in a program. He's got a wrestling background and sinks his hips really well and is always winning leverage and his hand placement is a strength. He's a game-wrecker and gets good penetration to blow up blocking schemes. He doesn't get a ton of sacks, not many DT do (Harmon had 0, 1, 1.5, and 5 in 4 years), but he can take over clutch moments and he never disappears for stretches. His comp from Zeurlein is, coincidentally, Christian Wilkins.@travdogg likes DT Derrick Harmon out of Oregon more than Graham. I love his game but he has been a consistent, recidivist knucklehead. Gambling, gun in the car, stupid, childish, penalty inducing TD celebrations etc etc etc.Jameson Williams may end up coming available in a trade. Could be an intriguing acquisition for the right price.
If they really want Jeanty, my guess is they may be trying to leapfrog Jacksonville just to make sure they get him.Dallas in "substantive talks" - hope that's for #6.

AgreedBarring an Alex Leatherwood/Clelin Ferrell type reach I honestly will be happy with any pick at #6.
Graham, Jeanty, Membou, Walker? All good by me.
