I wanted him. But not at 6. When the ny take him again?Looking back I wish they had drafted Dart.
21 or something. I also liked Dart. Ah well... Who is the next Dart?I wanted him. But not at 6. When the ny take him again?Looking back I wish they had drafted Dart.
I think the mistake they made was not just signing Darnold and what I heard/read at the time was that due to Brady's influence, he was/is not a fan.Looking back I wish they had drafted Dart.
There is only one common denominator between the piss poor seasons the Raiders have strung together the last 14 years. Looks like it will take another 14 for some of you to figure it out.Exactly. He's not the one running the draft or coaching the players. He's spent big on free agents, it's not his fault they missed on them.Okay, now explain to me how this is Mark Davis's fault. If the only answer is "well, he hired them" then save it.And who has been the owner during that period.Welcome to the last 2+ decades of being a Raiders fan, Pete.![]()
Everyone prefers an owner who hires football people, opens the purse strings and then gets out of the way. That's Mark Davis and that's what he did with Pete Carroll and Tom Brady and Chip Kelly and whatever the hell the gm's name is.

The Raiders are only a game back from the Chiefs. Not bad after five weeks, right!?!?!Raiders signed former 1st round pick LB Jamin Davis
TE Michael Mayer has cleared the concussion protocol
TE Bowers is considered day-to-day with his knee.
Geno remains the starting QB.
That's all I got.

Honestly, I think AOC and most other QBs would also flop behind this OL play. I blame Brennan Carroll, and by extension his dad. AOC isn't solving this team's problem.
Jamin Davis is very good at bad pass coverage.Raiders signed former 1st round pick LB Jamin Davis
Excellent! He'll fit right in.Jamin Davis is very good at bad pass coverage.Raiders signed former 1st round pick LB Jamin Davis
He's not the worst former Washington LB at pass coverage, but he's close. Perry Riley was the worst. There are clips of Riley playing zone defense and constantly checking his position on the field while receivers are running by him.Excellent! Asked what the Raiders have to do to get quarterback Geno Smith on track, Carroll said Smith would benefit from the Raiders calling more running plays. “We have to run the football better, more,” Carroll said. “And we’re going to continue to work at it and see if we can’t continue to bring it to life. The running game has looked well in order right now, we need to get more of them. That’s part of it. That’s just mixing football. That’s how you do it. We don’t ever want to rely on the quarterback has to do the whole show, sitting in the shotgun, throw the football. Never coach that way. So we have to mix our stuff so we can use our play action game.”
Carroll then said running back Ashton Jeanty can play well when he gets opportunities, and noted that Smith isn’t the one calling the plays. “I was pleased with how we saw Ashton come to life on the edge,” Carroll said. “He made some nice plays and stretched the defense and put some threat on them with that. And we’ve got to make sure that we’re calling all the best stuff in the situations. He’s not calling the plays. We’ve got to call them and we’ve got to make sure and get him in the right spots and give him the best chance to stay out of harm’s way. Part of that is really controlling the game with what we do in front in the running game.”
Pete Carroll's a little bit unhappy with Chip Kelly's playcalling.

I don't actively follow the Raiders but from what I've seen and read they seem like a real mess right now, with no one and nothing to coalesce around.Ugh. I think the Raiders might have the highest paid Coordinators in the NFL. If not, they are close. Why TF is the Head Coach throwing one of them under the bus publicly? Where is his criticism of his son's work as OL clown? Raiders bad juju seems to be growing here.
Exactly my sentiments in March but from LVR perspective:I think the mistake they made was not just signing Darnold and what I heard/read at the time was that due to Brady's influence, he was/is not a fan.Looking back I wish they had drafted Dart.
FWIW I'm not saying this after the fact and posted that SEA essentially trading Geno for Darnold and a third was a win for them when they did it.
Also Jeanty could be a star but I've long felt committing major resources to the RB position when you've not built out your team, especially your OL, is Football 101 bad business. And IF you are going to do it the most acceptable type of situation to do it is when you have a young QB you want to try and protect.
I don't want to get too far away from relevance but I think Pete's gonna be chomping gum and punting from the opponent's 48 on 4th and 1 until he's forcibly put out in the cold. I could be wrong, but I've known enough older powerful men of that age, and while Pete is always marching to the beat of modernity, I'm not sure he has it in him
So, should we expect an increase, decrease, or about the same fantasy production for Geno as a Raider?
He'll be playing for Pete Carroll. Remember the "let Russ cook" thing? Pete likes to run and run and run the football.
Bruh….Honestly id love to see AOC playing

#Raiders Pete Carroll said QB Geno Smith needs to get the ball out quicker. Smith's average time to throw is 2.97 seconds -- fourth-highest in the NFL. "Yeah, we want the ball out much quicker than that. That's not been consistent with his past, so we got to do better."
The Raiders like to continually kick the QB can down the road bringing in over the hill vets trying to capture that Gannon magic. They need to stop this and draft a QB in the 1st round and stop messing around.Looking back I wish they had drafted Dart.
Same questions. I was travelingI didn’t get to watch the game and see the rare win.
Did they change up the O line at all or was it same ol’ same ol’, and it just so happens that the Titans are worse than us?

With a cactus.F the chiefs
Go on...With a cactus.F the chiefs
… and cayenne pepper.Go on...With a cactus.F the chiefs
A little of both. We were bad at times, but they have a super stud DT and we didn't let him wreck the entire game - which we have in the past. It was by no means dominant, but it was quite competent at times. Awful at others though, and better teams will (and already have) destroy us.I didn’t get to watch the game and see the rare win.

Ashton Jeanty:
The No. 6 overall draft pick snap count increased to 78 percent from played a season-low 54 percent of the snaps. He had 75 yards on 23 carries and averaged 3.3 yards per carry. It was the fourth time in six games he averaged less than four yards per carry.
Jack Bech:
For the second straight week, the second-round pick played a season-high snap percentage (75 percent in Week 6). Yet, he was targeted once and had no catches. He has five catches on eight targets this season. But it’s clear the Raiders are open to giving him opportunities.
Darien Porter:
The cornerback, taken in the third round, went back to be a non-factor on defense now that starter Eric Stokes returned from an injury. Porter didn’t play on defense against the Titans and played 10 special-teams snaps. He played all 66 defensive snaps at the Colts with Stokes out.
Caleb Rogers:
The offensive lineman, taken in the third round, was inactive for the fifth time in six games.
Charles Grant:
The offensive lineman, taken in the third round, was active for the second time because Kolton Miller is out for the next 4-6 weeks with a high-ankle sprain. He didn’t play. Earlier, coach Pete Carroll said Grant may soon be ready to push Stone Forsythe for playing time if Miller is out.
Dont’e Thornton:
The wide receiver, taken in the fourth round, has dramatically seen his play time dwindle. He played just two offensive snaps in Week 6 and he wasn’t targeted. His previous low-snap count was 31. He has five catches on 16 targets and hasn’t caught a ball since Week 3. He has ability, but it’s clear the Raiders feel he’s not ready and Bech has taken snaps away. Thornton hasn’t played any on special teams this season.
Tonka Hemingway:
The fourth-round pick was inactive for the fourth time this season.
JJ Pegues:
The defensive tackle, taken in the sixth round, was inactive after being active for two straight games.
Cody Lindenberg:
The seventh-round pick played no snaps on defense, but played 78 percent of the snaps on special teams, which was a season-low.
I am as hard as anyone on my Raiders but it’s too early to grade rookies and very difficult when it’s a dysfunctional team like the Raiders. It takes time for many young players to develop. It seems tough to determine where the rookie WRs stand due to a very underwhelming Geno. The rookie o line players don’t stand a chance with this current coaching. Hopefully they hold on to them to see how they can play with better pieces on the line and real coaches once Pete is gone next year or the year after.Ugh, duped again by the Raiders draft hype. Jeanty is the only Vegas rookie contributing (on O or D) through six games... Not a good look here for the new regime.
