Ministry of Pain

Wait until they overpay Tua starting as early as April when they can technically start extending himAlso...we overpaid Xavien Howard. He is clearly in decline and not worth anywhere near what we are now stuck paying him. Between him completely losing it and Byron Jones deciding he no longer wants to be a football player, our secondary went from potentially the best in the NFL to well below average.Last night was the annual and seemingly inevitable kick in the face by Reality. We are going nowhere - again. This team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball but defenses have figured out how to stop our offense, and our defense despite being loaded with sick talent that plays great on first and second down, cannot get off the field on 3rd down.
I think we got sucked in by a mirage. Again.
Also, that call on Phillips is the worst call I have seen in a long time, if not ever. But, its not the reason we lost. Tua looked like a 3rd string undrafted free agent who just played in his first and last NFL game. And that goes all the way back to the second half of the Houston game, which appears to be the moment defenses figured out how to stop him.
If this team hadn't prepared me for this so well for the past 30 years, I would be devastated today.
Oh well, I guess the "there's always next year" mantra just came a little early this season. F.
They can opt to pick up his 5th year Option(Done at the end of Year 3) but typically if a team is actually going to use that as their salary, they clearly would be saying we don't believe in you and McDaniel has repeatedly said they believe in Tua so my gut says like it or not Tua is going to get A LOT of GUARANTEED MONEY in the off season or by the start of summer
Your mood is not going to change.
One of the things that makes all this harder to digest is that Miami will not look a lot different this time next season. They don't have the resources and draft picks to go out and improve the team beyond what it is right now. Christian WIikins has to be extended and then you Tua looming and it's not going to be fun talk.
