Can we stop jumping all over posters when they compare young players to much more successful players from the past?
When somebody says a guy looks like Randy Moss, they probably mean that he is fast, can leap over defenders, maybe is tall and lanky. He's not saying he expects him to BE Moss, just that he has some of the same characteristics and would be the same type of receiver, a guy that would excel with athleticism but may not be a great route runner.
Or when somebody compares a RB to Emmott Smith, he's probably saying the guy doesn't have elite speed, but runs tough and has good vision. I don't think most of them are arguing that they expect a guy with two starts to someday be the all time rushing leader.
So can we stop flipping out and mocking people every time we see comparisons being made? If someone says 'I think CJ Spiller is going to have a better career than Barry Sanders" then mock away.
