#### the score, but how can Pac-Man Jones of all people get away with ripping the helmet off of and head smashing a top 5 draft pick...

https://vine.co/v/eFIgAwaetY5

If someone would have done that to Jameis Winston today ESPN would be up in arms.

I'm sure he's got a hefty fine coming at a minimum. I'm interested in whether the other personal foul on that play preceded his stupidity or was inspired by it.

I thought the INT McGloin threw should have had a flag for the helmet-to-helmet hit by the receiver too. The officials in this game were nearly as bad as the announcers.

Maybe I'm in the minority on this but after reading about this in several different places I thouhgt it was going to be much worse. Uncalled for and bush league but there wasnt a lot of force there for the way people are talking about it.

IF he's suspended I'd seriously doubt its more than one game and that's likely only b/c of his history. Substantial fine and keep it moving.

Im still shocked he wasn't thrown out and that a fight didn't follow up
This. The NFL talks a big game and suspends people for hard hits while actually playing the game and this guy arguably commits a felony and doesn't at least get tossed?
Agree 1,000%
They probably didn't see it. It happened fast so it would have been easy to miss. I'm sure he's going to be hearing from the league office tomorrow morning.

suh was up to his old antics today as well, pulled morris helmet off knee'd him in the head, stuck his hand in the face mask of moses the RT and thumb'd in the eye while he twisted the helmet off his head. that vine looked pretty tame compared.

Doesn't make sense to get suspended one game BC of his history, his history would add a game in your minimal thinking.

I don't recall him doing anything in game, but getting arrested and then suspended.

Interesting twist here is that years ago, Goodell was trying to set the tone to his new discipline system and Pacman and Chris Henry were somewhat the people he was going to make examples of.

After they serve their suspensions, each player must apply for reinstatement."We must protect the integrity of the NFL," commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "The highest standards of conduct must be met by everyone in the NFL because it is a privilege to represent the NFL, not a right. These players, and all members of our league, have to make the right choices and decisions in their conduct on a consistent basis."

In a letter to each player, Goodell wrote: "Your conduct has brought embarrassment and ridicule upon yourself, your club, and the NFL, and has damaged the reputation of players throughout the league. You have put in jeopardy an otherwise promising NFL career, and have risked both your own safety and the safety of others through your off-field actions. In each of these respects, you have engaged in conduct detrimental to the NFL and failed to live up to the standards expected of NFL players. Taken as a whole, this conduct warrants significant sanction."

The old Raiders would have had a riot, where's their pride?
I agree.

I wonder if Amari takes some flack from teammates for not pushing him off and kind of lying there taking it. By all accounts he's a good boy and probably waiting for the teacher(or ref) to step in but he's gonna take a lot of smack talk and cheap shots. Raiders image is surely not lie there and take it.

I believe them not retaliating and him not pushing off is proper and "in the best interest of the league" but I'm just not the pc type of guy

Call judge Berman. Unless there is something in the CBA that gives him notice that his conduct was subject to suspension, he can't be suspended.

Raiders should be more outraged on the way they played.

Fine him, move on. Fights and scrums happen all the time, it's ####### football.

Does the Goodell quote above not still apply? that'd make him unique like reappearing before a judge.

I just don't understand the "it wasn't that bad" crowd. This is the very definition of intent to injure. Moreover, the act was not committed in the context of anything resembling a football play. I would hope it would be two games minimum. OP is right that the refs should catch #### too. They were looking directly at it as it was happening.

A felony?
An argument could be made that it was a simple assault. And it would be a pretty good argument since it had nothing to do with the play on the field nor was it remotely contiguous with the play on the field. He was simply being the little punk he is.

It is, at the very least, suspension worthy given his history.

It's funny how the game has changed in 20 years. Everyone debating a suspension or fine on something that used to be just 15 yards and move on. The takeaway is the Bengals walked into the Raiders home field punched them in the mouth and took their lunch money. Not the way to start the Del Rio Era.

a fight is when two people square off. That was not a fight,it was an assault. Two things I rook from it...Pacman is still a thug punk and should be suspended at least four games. Cooper is a bit of a wuss.

I too was expecting more force and violence having heard descriptions of the play. That said it was well after the play, he wrestled with him on the ground rather than un-piling, he pulled his helmet off, he then pushed his unprotected head down having repositioned his hands to grab his head, bouncing it off his helmet, and he has a history of acting out. this was far less force or danger than some of the things Suh or Haynesworth have done, but clearly he should have been ejected. when the refs don't enforce the rules they invite allowing the game to get out of control.

Doesn't it seem like 20 years ago that he was Makin it rain? Im kinda surprised he's still in the league.

Well deserved suspension coming

NFL confirms Adam Jones will not face a suspension for incident with Amari Cooper Sun. Play remains under review. I'd anticipate a fine...

Sounds like open season in the NFL

Idk how someone can be on probation for the past 10 years and have none of their additional crimes elevate his punishment?

In 18 years of practicing law, I never came across a case of felony harassment with a bodily substance. My guess would be that Jones spit/spat/whatever on someone.
I think it was pee.

EASILY the biggest piece of sh@@ in the the league. How cincy keeps this clown on their roster is mind boggling. But it is the Bengals soooo...

Pacman had another nice season and is signed to a team-friendly deal so this will be another blow to the Bengals D if they are forced to move on.  Tough decision, but between the courts and King Roger, it might be made for them.
