All Android/Google All the Time (1 Viewer)

I didn't even know there was a wrist strap...  I just put it on, and started going.  I access through the cardboard app usually.  Just hit the goggles and it prompts to put phone in goggles.  The tricky part is knowing the apps.  Google Cardboard Camera allows you to take and record 360 horizontal with sound.  The Streetview app has a camera that allows you to take a full Streetview shot with sky & ground.  After taking the pics in those apps, they show up in google photos and can be viewed with the VR headset.  There are some options for panorama / 360 like shots with the Google camera, but it won't let you see those in VR.

I bought the cowboy "arcslinger" game for $8.  Pretty cool to mess around with.  I'm not sure where to find the battery level of the controller.  It probably holds a charge for a while since there is no screen or anything.

Trying to undo Family Sharing on my daughter's ipod touch and it can't be undone from iTunes or a web browser.   Thanks Apple and GFY!!

But only in gold.  Ick.
Now on Newegg you can get the un-revamped Axon 7 for $350 in a graphite color with some freebies thrown in.  Is it weird that I think of the OP3T as an adult phone and the Axon as teenager phone?  I feel like it is some bells and whistles (dual front facing speakers, for example) vs. better hardware and updates (on the OP).  90% sold on the 3T, but wondering if the $100 extra cost is worth it at this point.

Hey Pixel XL guys, are you still happy with your purchase. I'm having a hard time deciding what to upgrade to from my note 4 between an s7 edge and the XL. I want a bigger phone and am used to samsung. Not sure i like the idea of no capacitive buttons on the pixel. Is the software that much better to make up for it?

My panoramic pictures I took using the camera showed up in the VR and look ok. I just start daydream app and then photos.

I launch daydream always then select from there

The rollercoaster was kind of neat.

I'm afraid to spend money on any games. Lol

It's ok, things are still to pixelated for me. Watching a movie was kind of neat, in Google movies itwas pretty cool. If I didn't look like a dork I could see watching a movie on a plane

Overall not sure how much I'll use it. My kid loves it.  The phone gets hot for sure.  You guys leaving it in whatever case you have when using it in VR?

No regrets

I'm leaving it in the case when in the VR goggles.

I got some pretty cool shots in North Carolina.  Shots in the woods look awesome.  The trees add a cool layer of depth.

You using cardboard camera or the stock camera.  My stock ones look pretty good

Im using either the cardboard camera or the street view.  Can you take VR photos from the stock Google photo app?  I see where to take panoramas, but I can't view them in VR.

Yes you can. Not sure why you don't see them.

I just take panoramic photo or  photosphere

Start daydream app

Select photos

They are there

I see Sprint is having a buy 1 get one free sale on the Galaxy S7 (not the edge).  I'm not really sure if it is worth updating from my Note 4.  Any thoughts?  I really don't have any issues with the Note and the only reason I would is because my step daughter is wanting an upgrade, so it might make sense.  My battery really doesn't last all day anymore (charge it at work, so not a big issue).  I rarely use the S pen, so losing that wouldn't be a big deal.  I'm not sure how long it will be until the updates don't work so well anymore, and I'd hate to miss out on a sale like this and then things stop working so well.

Hmm I've been needing a new phone for a while and haven't liked anything enough to pull the trigger at these current prices. This might change things.
Have you looked at the Google Pixel?  I have the XL and I absolutely love it.  No bloatware - it's a straight up android phone by Google.  Running 7.1 Nugat right now.

Got it on sale at Verizon with a buy one get one 50% off.  My daughter got the regular Google Pixel.

Not yet. At this point I was planning on waiting for the S8 and then seeing what was out to compare against. I've been loyal to Samsung for a while now (I'm still on an S4) but agree the bloatware sucks.

I'll check it out.

I was a loyal Samsung user too if that helps.

Instant google updates are great until your phone is no longer the newest thing that they're designing for.  My Nexus 6 has run like absolute dog#### since it was about 10 months old.  Android is doing something now that hardware just can't handle.

I ordered a pixel XL 128gb and an s7 on black friday from verizon store (switching from sprint). They said usually takes about a week for phones to come in. My order status says estimated shipment January  6th. That's kind of ridiculous.

My son's iPhone took 3 days unsure

I'm now 95% sure I'm going to go with the Oneplus 3t as my next phone.
I have the OnePlus3.. I like it.  Better than my iphone 6.

One gripe is that it sometimes (rarely) drops LTE.  Just restart to fix, but can be annoying.

speaking of the Pixel... looking for an intro or suggestions into any cool things it does.

I haven't had time to look at all other than just get my email, phone, etc up and running.

eta: looking for things that will make the iphone people in my office jealous- I'm the only android guy.

My son has a Nexus 7 tablet that is registered under my wife's Google Play account.  For Christmas he will be getting an Asus Zenpad as an upgrade.  I'm trying to make it so he can just open it up and use it right away with all of his same apps set up and ready to go.  At the same time, I'm fairly lazy.  Is there a program or method that makes it easy to clone a device's setup?  Also, how can we make sure he doesn't lose his progress in games that matter if they don't have particular logins?

you'll need to install Google Play with your's U/P. you should be able to download onto the tablet the list of apps currently on the older tablet. he'll need to log-in again but his progress should be there for all of those games on the new tablet.

Right now my wife's GP account is used on three tablets.  Hers and both sons.  How would different progress levels be distinguished?  Anything that can clone the setup of the screens?  For instance, on homepage he has apps X, Y, and Z in a folder on the bottom left and A, B, C in a group on the top right.  Any way to mimic that?  Any app that takes an image of that and can move it over?

My phone is no longer able to stream music.  It seems to either lose connection or just pause every three minutes or so.  Happens across multiple applications, but no issues with YouTube.  Anyone have a similar experience?

what phone, what music stream?

I'm thinking about the Google Pixel. Has anyone swapped sims from Verizon to AT&T? One thing that really appeals to me is that the phone is unlocked to all carriers. I'm currently with a Verizon MVNO family plan. But I may switch back to AT&T in a year. I love GSM phones for the ease of switching hardware without having to register the phone with the carrier (Verizon) each time.

Got update to the Pixel last night. And I'm Verizon so there is truth to them not holding out.

It added the double tap/tap gesture to read the lock screen.  I have my lock screen blank by defualt

still haven't really played around much with my Pixel.

did use the Photosphere option... very cool. will definitely change how I document/survey my projects from beginning to end.

I would like to play around with my Pixel but still waiting for delivery. Ordered from Verizon Store on black friday and delivery date still says January 6th. Not impressed.

wow- we ordered ours on black friday as well... got them a day or two later. through verizon online.

This happens with my wife's Galaxy S6 as well.  Was going to come in here looking for some help.

ETA - just saw this solution on a reddit forum:

i had the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. music stops or pauses especially when i am using Soundcloud, pandora, Milk music player or Beatport. but i fixed the issue . First open the "Smart Manager" app and select battery. Second select "details" and you should see most of the apps that uses more power. Select "Cancel Auto stop" on the apps u want will be using especially your music app. if you don't want then to stop after sometime.

Thank you Hope this solves ur problem
