Do you download icon packs? Or are there options within Nova for that?
Yes, tons out there.Do you download icon packs? Or are there options within Nova for that?
Oh and you can't keep your 6P. From my confirmation EmailAttention Nexus 6P owners. Today I contacted customer support and complained about the two Ps we have having battery and restart issues. Our phones are out of warranty but since we bought them from the Google Store they are shipping us two Pixel XL's for free.
Material Dark theme. Download free from Theme settings. Not sure if it'll work with Oreo thoughMy best friend. That doesn't allow you to change menu or notification colors though, unless that option is on a screen I'm not aware of. I'm used to the white now I guess.

Long press on your home screen.I don't like the boxed icons for google apps on Oreo. :(
Where do you find theme settings? I can't find that in Nova.Material Dark theme. Download free from Theme settings. Not sure if it'll work with Oreo though
I'll have to try this. I got Nova launcher loaded right now. If I go back to Google launcher will I have reconfigure all my settings?belljr said:Long press on your home screen.

Are you on Samsung phone? Not in Nova...in Nougat it's in phone settings > wallpapers and themes > themes
Then go to 3dot menu in top right > search > "material dark"
In the list that pops up, tap "Material Dark (Android 7+)" and download/apply. Then change the wallpaper to whatever you want.
It might change your icons though.
If you don't delete you pixel launcher you should be ok - I think. You can swap between them. But I'm not 100% sure tbhI'll have to try this. I got Nova launcher loaded right now. If I go back to Google launcher will I have reconfigure all my settings?
It was one of the nice things I liked about the Samsung buildsYeah, apparently not a Pixel Oreo thing. Thanks.
Ahh. Yes I am. I thought it was an Android thing and not brand specific. My badAre you on Samsung phone?
Themes I think is part of the Samsung build. I don't have themes
Just a heads up in case your local BB does it like this, too...Man, we are on the same page. My wife and I did the same thing yesterday. We first went to Costco as they are offering a $150 Costco Card and a Power Pack kit but ultimately decided to go with BB because of the $150 off instantly x2 That's $15 a month off the bill right there.
Who is your carrier? For Verizon they are offering a trade in promotion as well. They are going to give my wife $480 as a trade in value for her N5. They told me they would give me up to $240 for my N3. I don't know if I believe them on that one. We'll see.
Also, which gift from Samsung are you going to choose? My wife is going to get the Wireless Charger and the 128gb micro SD card and I think I will get the 360 Degree Camera. That might come in handy later this year in Vegas.
Thanks for the info. I haven't received an e-mail yet but was sitting here thinking about calling the store. I think I will and go ahead and try to set up an appointment. My cases, screen protectors, and car mounts arrive today.Just a heads up in case your local BB does it like this, too...
Got my email this morning that the phone was ready to be picked up. I actually got the email while running some errands and I had already been thinking about stopping in anyway and checking the status since I was right nearby. I'm not one of those in a huge rush to get the phone, but figured why not? When I got there, they said they had them in (I could actually see my box on the counter) but couldn't give them out and activate them until tomorrow (something about their "system" not being ready yet), but that they had just started putting together an appointment schedule for tomorrow. At least I got a good time for me since they just started.
Again, it was no big deal for me, but I could see some people getting pissed when they get the email that it's ready, make the time to stop in, and then are told they can't get it until the next day.
Anyway, even if you get the email before tomorrow, call in first and see if you have to make an appointment. And make sure you talk to the actual mobile people at your local BB, since I was just looking online and saw some people complaining that they called first and were told they could come pick it up only to find out call center people were giving out the wrong info.
I guess some people are told at the time of pre-order that this is what to expect, but I was only told to come in and pick it up when I got the email by the 15th.
Well I did indeed call BB yesterday and was told that I could come pick it up tomorrow( which is now today ). No problem. Also, they did not open early today and I didn't need an appointment. So I get up this morning and head to BB and guess what. My 2 phones aren't in. I ordered 2 grey phones and only the black came in.Thanks for the info. Check here to be sure http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_(usa)-7960.phpSo I brought my new S7 (Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930U) to Verizon to get a nano sim and they are saying the phone isn't compatible to Verizon even though I've seen plenty of people say in reviews that it is.
Is that true? I use prepaid and would have no problem switching to AT&T or T-Mobile if that's the case.

I can confirm that we can switch between Nova launcher and Google Now Launcher without losing any settings/preferences from either one.If you don't delete you pixel launcher you should be ok - I think. You can swap between them. But I'm not 100% sure tbh
I downloaded the Nova launcher and have both for now - I didn't feel like starting over from scratch since it was way different....![]()

Never again Best Buy. Never again.
Well I went to work at 3pm and got a call @ 4:45pm saying that my phones are ready. I'll be there around opening time tomorrow and hopefully that will be the last time I step foot in there.jhib said:Ugh.
I had my appointment for 8 am, since they opened early and that was the first one. I figured then I wouldn't be stuck behind any backlog. It actually went pretty smoothly, but I still ended up being a bit annoyed. I asked how yesterday went and if there were any really annoyed customers who got emails saying they could pick their phone up even though they couldn't get them until today. They said it was okay, everybody was cool, and actually they got the call from higher ups at around 2:30 that everything was set and they could start giving out phones to people who showed up. So I could have gotten mine if I had just showed up a few hours later than I did. Gee, thanks.
Anyway, just a minor annoyance. At least I got to fool around with the phone most of the day. It's pretty sweet.
So even though the Verizon rep on chat said it was compatible, when I went to a different Corporate store, they couldn't get it to work. The guy tried getting help on the phone (Level 2 or something) and it wouldn't work. So, I wound up going with AT&T and I'm up and running. Great phone! Thanks brother!Check here to be sure http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_(usa)-7960.php

I went onto chat, they confirmed the phone is compatible, and pointed me to a different corporate office and said they will leave a note in my file for them.

My wife's Nexus 5x went blank last night, and today I learned a new word - "bootloop." We bought 2 5x's from the Google Store on black Friday almost two years ago and they've worked great until last night.Attention Nexus 6P owners. My 5x died 2 weeks ago. I bought it last July, and the LG warranty is only 1 year. I did a bunch of research and the general consensus across the internet is that it's just time to buy a new phone. You can open the phone and try to restore it (temporarily, as it usually dies again within 30 min.) if you have important files to retrieve. My wife's Nexus 5x went blank last night, and today I learned a new word - "bootloop." Which customer support did you contact? Google Fi told my wife she has to go through LG, nothing they will do. We're out of warranty, no protection plan.

I have the low storage, amazon ad-supported version for my daughter; it is a perfectly fine phone. The camera is a weakness, and the fingerprint scanner just gave up the ghost so it is looking line a warranty replacement is needed.Do we have any Moto G5 Plus owners in here? Any feed back would be appreciated. TIA

Yep - she has had it since late May. Something real screwy going on with it too... all of the fingerprint options are gone from settingsHmmm... it came out this April, right? It's already on the fritz?

Let us know how you like it after a few weeks. I considered putting the Z10 on my Christmas wish list based on the price and reviews, but I'm not 100% it's what I want due to it being a 2 year old model running Lollipop.Just picked up a Asus Zenpad Z8s (verizon only) - haven't set it up fully yet.
Haven't had a tablet in 5 years. Pretty slick so far![]()
Will do. This one I think just came out in August. It's the newest one.Let us know how you like it after a few weeks. I considered putting the Z10 on my Christmas wish list based on the price and reviews, but I'm not 100% it's what I want due to it being a 2 year old model running Lollipop.
Oh yeah, that looks way more updated than the Z10 I was eyeing on Amazon. I thought the z8 and z10 were just different sizes of the same thing. Will do. This one I think just came out in August. It's the newest one.

So I don't know how it differs to be honest. I had the original Asus Nexus 7 and that was ok.
The price was right...imo. I added it to my account for now but will probably remove it in the next couple months. I don't think I'll need the 4G capability.
I will try to remember to report back![]()
