AM I the only person who sees colt mccoy as a good start this week? (1 Viewer)

Okay, this is not a WDIS. I did a decent amount of research this week with my QB on a Bye (rivers), and came up with McCoy being a quality start this week.

Raiders have given up :

18 points to orton

25 points to fitzpatrick

30 points to sanchez

19 points to Brady

24 points ro Schaub

Other than Brady, you are not talking about murderers row of QBs here. It is not like McCoy does not get the opportunity to throw in Cleveland. What am I missing here?

I think this is a good bye week filler and I do not understand his low ranking everywhere...

I started this thread about him two weeks ago and got zero replies. I picked him up before his bye in two leagues. Cleveland is throwing the ball a ton, and Colt is being cautious with it, should lead to some big points against bad teams and against good teams in blowouts.

I would think a decent amount of research involves looking past fantasy scoring numbers and digging into the reasons behind why you believe McCoy is a decent play. I don't necessarily disagree with you, by the way. Just was hoping for some key matchups and injuries that illustrate your point.

I could mention that Rolando McClain is going to give it a go on a gimpy ankle, that starting RDE Matt Shaughnessy is out. You could mention that Aaron Curry is going to start for the Raiders at WLB after just one practice after being traded from the Seahawks. You could also mention that rookie CB Chimdi Chekwa is starting even though he's running on a tight hammy in practice. There are a lot of concerns with the Raider defense. No doubt.

I think McCoy will have a decent week, mainly because this will be an emotional home opener (post AD's death) and I expect the Raiders to come out fired up. McCoy could be good for some garbabe stats in this one.

I see him as a good start as a bye week fill in, not a "good start" in general. I also have Rivers and picked him up this week over other dudes on waivers like Grossman, Campbell, Dalton, etc. I think he has a better matchup than other waiver options.

Of course you're not the only one who sees McCoy as a good start. There are at least three or four other people in the world who think the same thing.

(I'm not starting McCoy but I am starting Greg Little due to bye weeks.)

I'm weighing a Colt vs. Fitzpatrick dilemma in my most crucial matchup this week.

Probably going to ride Fitz but I'm apprehensive about said decision.
