Anyone interested in discussing picks for NFL Survivor pools? (1 Viewer)

Dallas
Buffalo

At least Dallas isn't coming off a MNF loss to a team with no QB. If Buffalo bounces back as they probably will you can still use them later.

I'm between Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Detroit.... leaning towards Tampa Bay

New Orleans would probably be my next choice, but I try to avoid teams on the road.

Think I'm pivoting to Philly. Bills I will use later, this is probably Eagles best home matchup out of division - especially on a short week.

I think Dallas is a great play this week. Home opener, Jets on a short week with Zach Wilson starting. So, I'm taking them in my smaller pool. I'm going Detroit and Denver in my larger pool where i have 2 entries.

How many entries would you have to have in order to be assured of picking a winner each week? Like you could pick opposing teams each week and be assured (minus a tie) of a win, but then you can't use that team so would need to pivot to a different pair of teams the following week, and so forth. Is there a number?

Yeah, I like Dallas too.

This is only the second Survival Pool thingy I've ever done. I won the other one. The only thing I think of is:

Which one of these is closest to a guaranteed win? I don't worry about burning a team early, or what's gonna happen later, etc. None of that matters. I just go by what I see week to week.

And right now, with the Jets offense and the Cowboys defense, it makes the most sense for a win. I'm waiting for Sunday for my final choice.

Buffalo looks like a shaky bet to me and everyone is picking them. Also have a feeling the jets keep it close with Dallas. Hell if dak throws a couple picks who knows
Yeah, this is the one thing that is sticking in my crawl. That Jets D is definitely good enough to get a couple of pick 6's.

Jets D is real and not a team I want to mess with when it comes to the Dallas O.

Philly this week and then KC next is my current plan

this is a really tough week. bills are -8.5 point favorites at home over LV. lions are -6.5 over the seadogs. cowboys -9.5. none give me the warm and fuzzies, but i do like the lions a bit. at home on a long layoff after a big road win. seattle is banged up and i hate hate geno. zach sucks, but dak isn’t special. i figure the cowboys win, but the jets have a live and special teams.

going philly
dangerous. i hate those thursday games

From what I can see Buffalo is the overwhelmingly popular choice. I like to stay away from that if I can (though I was fooled last week when Washington was more popular than I first observed).

Yeah it was a sweat.

I've used Baltimore and Philly

Week 3: Leaning KC

KC has the Bears this weekend and then the Jets next, after that their schedule gets tough for the rest of the year.

Niners and Dallas are also possibilities this week.

Yeah me too. I'm 90% sure this will be my pick. The only other tempting one for me is Miami. I'm thinking of taking them since I worry about Tua making it a full year health wise.

I was thinking them or Seattle. Carolina at Seattle pretty tempting then go with KC following week. I'm trying to stay away from road teams though so I'll probably go KC.

Used Commanders and Eagles.

Seattle this week. KC's sched might look to get tough, but I want to save as many good teams as possible and I wouldn't use Seattle again this year (Carolina an easier home win than Arizona - I don't like playing road or division games and Arizona just looks like a tougher team to me than the Panthers).
