Local sports talk show who is broadcasting from Cards camp reports that Boldin went down during warmups. They said it looked like his knee, but couldn't be sure. Had to cart him off the field.Green is supposed to address it at his 11 o'clock post-practice media address.

This isn't good at all :( :( :( :( I wish Boldin the best of luck... the guy is talented and I want to see him play...

Is that 11 o'clock Mountain or Pacific for Denny's conference? I can never remember with Arizona...

Exactly. As a football fan this kind of news is bad all around. I love watching the game and want to watch the best players. When guys like Bolden, Boston, Vick get hurt, it takes away from the game a bit. I hope it's a rumor. If it's not a rumor, I hope it's minor. In every draft I've had, I've taken Steve Smith over Anquan Bolden when I've had the chance, right now I'm glad I did.If true, I'd definately knock down the value of McCown and probably raise Fitz a little bit.

No update on the current report, but FWIW Boldin did sit out of practice yesterday with swelling in his right knee...

Cardinals | Boldin Injures LegTue, 10 Aug 2004 09:12:06 -0700--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mike Jurecki, of KDUS Sports Radio, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (leg) went down during morning practice Tuesday, August 10, with a non-contact leg injury. He is currently undergoing tests. :wall: :excited:  :wall:

Arizona doesn't observe daylight's savings time. We're on Pacific now, but switch to mountain time in the fall. So the conference will be in an hour and 45 minutes.I've got a buddy at work that writes for Arizona Sports Fan Network. He said it doesn't look good.Quan was held out of the morning practice with soreness in his knee yesterday. He pracitced half speed yesterday afternoon. Was doing the same this morning and collapsed. Was carted off field with leg elevated. Some are speculating that it could possibly be an ankle injury, but his knee was hurting yesterday, so I'd be surprised if it was anything other than the knee.I'll post more if I hear anything.

I heard it on the radio on "The Morning Drive" who was broadcasting from camp. No linkey yet, but there might be by the time I finish this post. Not a rumor, but it is still preliminary. Green's address will be at 2 Eastern, 11 AZ time. www.azcentral.com will probably have a link soon.

Oh man, non-contact injury usually spells trouble.Hope he's ok. I dont own Boldin, but I hate to see an injury to any fantasy force such as Boldin.:keepsfingerscrossed:

Everyone 1 of my damn keeper/dynasty teams are getting hit w/injuries this year. This f'n sucks. F you RW...F you Reggie Williams...F you Shipp...F you Boldin :wall:

Boy, it just keeps getting better by the day. One of my dynasty leagues I have RW, Boston and Boldin. By the time the season starts My entire roster should be on the IR. :(

Boldin is such a tough kid and works so hard. For him to go down in pain does not look good at all. From azcentral.com Cards message board

They were going through non-contact drills at 1/3 speed, and he was down for 7-8 minutes before being carted off.We should hear more at Green's press conference after the morning practice...

You had 3 Cardinals on your team. It was doomed from the start. Is it just me, or does there seem to be awful lot more season ending injuries this year?

Not just three Cardinals, but five current or former Cardinals (McCown, Boldin, Shipp, Jone, & Boston).Maybe it's a Cardinal curse?

Background:

____________________________________

In 2001, he tore his left ACL in August.

Yesterday, he sat out with swelling in his right knee.

Caution is best

Anquan Boldin, an All-Pro receiver last year as a rookie, missed Monday's morning practice with swelling in his right knee, but returned for the less demanding afternoon practice.

"We're just taking a precautionary approach with Anquan because there was some swelling there," coach Dennis Green said. "We did some tests just to make sure, and he'll be OK."

This is simply for background, folks. I know nothing more than any of you about today's injury. Despite yesterday's swelling, today could very well be a new ballgame. It could also easily turn out to be nothing.

Good Luck, Boldin owners!

I only have Thomas Jones on that list. I do hope for the best for Boldin as he seems like a good guy. It does seem like a bad start of the year for injuries in general.

I drafted the team two years ago, picked up Boldin, Shipp and McCown off waivers for free. And what do you want from me - I believe in the Cardinals offense. I expected this team to be good under Denny Green, though losing Boldin would be a tremendous hit.

And gee, let's see, someone asked what the potential impact on the rankings of this would bem if Boldin were out?

Let's start with the really tough ones:

- Downgrade Boldin substantially

- Downgrade McCown

- Upgrade Fitzgerald

Other than these... does anyone really care?

I haven't heard anything about Bryant Johnson's stress fracture in a while. I think at this point he would stand to gain the most if Boldin is out a significant amount of time.Obviously this would knock McCown down a bit further in the QB rankings.

He would stand to have the most to gain, but I think it's more of a net loss for the Cardinals than a net gain for Johnson. I don't believe Bryant Johnson could accomplish a fraction of what Boldin would have, and this would absolutely lower my expectations for McCown (a shame b/c he was one of my main value picks at the position) and absolutely increase my expectations for Fitz.

I was listening to the same radio report as first mentioned in this thread. Jurecki mentioned Bryant Johnson and said he's still in a foot cast, but that Denny Green was having him ride the stationary bike while in it.Not any big update, but he is still in a cast. Jurecki didn't mention when Johnson is expected out his boot cast.

Boldin injures knee in workout

Kent Somers

Second-year wide receiver Anquan Boldin suffered a knee injury Tuesday morning during pre-practice drills.

The record-setting Boldin, who broke the NFL's rookie receptions mark with 101 receptions, hurt his right knee during a half-speed, non-contact drill.

A minor injury to the same knee kept Boldin out of practice on Monday.

A second-round draft pick from Florida State (54th overall), Boldin was taken off the field on a cart and examined by trainers.

NOT the same knee he hurt in college.

This is the same knee that was swollen yesterday.

It's a shame when your FF team becomes more inportant than the healt and welfare of others. I know it's frustrating when this happens but let's remember what's more important before we curse a guy because he got injured. I don't mean to single anyone out because I know this happens frequently but I think we need to remember these guys are real people making a living and taking care of their families, just like we are.

LOL!! No daylight savings time but move into a different time zone for the same change?!! :rotflmao: So much for fun--that's a real drag if Boldin's down. I don't have him in any leagues--but do have McCown. And like everyone's said--the game's much better when everyone's playing. :(

Wouldn't these latest injuries (Shipp/possibly Boldin) increase the value of Freddie Jones more than they would the secondary receivers? It's Jones role that looks to be expanded, isn't it? If so, he should be considered the value pick, at least in TE req. leagues.

Cards' Boldin suffers injury in practice Tuesday

Tribune

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin went down with an injury during training camp practice in Flagstaff Tuesday, and had to be carted off of the field by medical personnel.

Cards linebacker has moved past suspension

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time, but Boldin was in obvious pain following the incident.

Boldin, last season's NFL Rookie of the Year, was the team's leading receiver a year ago with 101 receptions for 1,357 yards.

- MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW SHORTLY.

How can we have had 26 replies and still nobody postulating the impact this will have on rankings?
I going to go out on a limb here and say that if Boldin is out for the year, his rank will drop significantly.my :2cents:

Bryant Johnson has more ability than people give him credit for...like many others before him he was lost in the Cards' wasteland of an offense. I wasn't high on him because of the Fitz drafting, but if Boldin is out for an extended amount of time Johnson is a huge sleeper.
