Bryant Johnson was a 1st round pick, lets not forget (17th overall)Boldin was a 2nd round pick, 54th overall.Hes obviously got talent, and if Boldin wasnt there to get 100+ catches last year, who knows what Bryant could have or would have done.I think hes worth keeping an eye on if Boldin is out for an extended period of time.

Wouldn't these latest injuries (Shipp/possibly Boldin) increase the value of Freddie Jones more than they would the secondary receivers? It's Jones role that looks to be expanded, isn't it? If so, he should be considered the value pick, at least in TE req. leagues.
I don't think you can really look at the injuries to Shipp/Boldin as being a benefit to anyone. I don't think there is a magic 3200 passing yards to go around and since Boldin isn't there the numbers earmarked for him go to Jones/Johnson. These injuries will completely cripple the AZ offense and pretty much drops McCown off my radar completely. Boldin was the #1 offensive target and caught 101 passes as a rookie. You can't replace that production. Their offense is now Emmitt (over the hill), McCown (couple career starts), Johnson (hurt but could be decent), Fitz (rook who has never played a down), Jones (decent TE, not great). There isn't a worse offense in the league right now than the Cards.

Is there any way to get a live news feed from an AZ radio station or other network of the Denny Green press conference? This is a nightmare. :bag: - Otis, proud owner of:Ricky WilliamsDavid BostonMarcel ShippAnquan Boldin

I thought it was unlikely that Boldin would live up to the position he's being drafted this year, so from my stand point, the bad news is that a player who would have slid to me because someone took Boldin probably won't now. Also, the best WR on that team may start getting some love from people instead of being viewed as the second option.

Some angry guy in the FFA linked me to this thread. Season ending or massive overreaction?
Green's press conference is in about 10 minutes... I'd imagine we'll find out then.

FBG has Arizona projected for 3363 passing yards. 1024 of those are going to Boldin. Sure, that 3363 will probably go down. But this is a team thats going to have to pass the ball A LOT considering how bad they're gonna suck. They're going to throw for a lot more than 2339 yards. Somebody benefits.

No daylight savings time but move into a different time zone for the same change?!!
it's not so much that arizona changes, it's the other states all change around it. like if your in a line and everyone steps forward but you. you didn't step back, but you're a step behind everyone else. then when everyone else steps back, you're even again but you still haven't moved.

I bet we learn nothing new until more tests are done and announced. Later today or even tomorrow.

 The Horror!! Why do I think the Dolphins will get the first pick in next years draft, followed by the Cards? Lets all keep our fingers crossed for Boldin. Everything I hear is this is one quality kid.

Just found this on KFFL: Updating ongoing reports, Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green said WR Anquan Boldin (knee) had his knee lock up during practice Tuesday, Aug. 10. The team is currently having Boldin undergo extensive tests on his knee. "locked up" is NOT a good sign.

think of it this way:next year would have been pick 1.1 Cards, pick 1.2 Cards before the Dolphins lost Williams & Boston...*fix*make that "Chargers" not Dolphins...of course, now... Arizona may be #1, Dolphins #2 or 3... but the Chargers will still get 2 of the top 4...

Is anyone listening to KDUS or wherever the press conference is being broadcast from?
got it on now, no press conference, talking with raiders personel right now. Will update with any news.

DYNOMITE!!! This is most excellent news since my chief rival in my league is a Boldin owner!!!!! He also owns Boston, he must be ====>

Denny Green:Boldin knee "locked up" jogging. Carted off, will get an MRI tonight. It was right knee (college injury was left knee). May have had an MRI on the right knee yesterday, Denny wasn't sure. Knee is not "locked up" anymore.

What goes around, comes around. Never brag about another owner's misfortune with regards to injuries.

The Boldin owner in my league also owned Boston and Shipp .. I really feel bad for her......Didn't stop me grabbing Bryant Johnson off the WW though.. just in case

My uneducated guess is that a locked up knee is not as bad as it sounds.
I agree -- and it's especially good news that it wasn't the knee that he's had previous trouble with. Of course, you could now argue that he has two bum knees. This sucks -- hopefully he won't miss any playing time this season. Yet another reason to ALWAYS DELAY YOUR FF DRAFTS AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!!!

Plus, no one gives a rat's ash about your league and someone's team in it. Whoopee.

Speaking of locked up - we crashed that board. Want to tell us what they're saying?
From a poster on the Card Board:I saw Quans injury its not good

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He went to the ground screaming in pain and grabbing his knee. It was during light warm-ups. He was screaming loud and was in severe pain. I honestly think we have lost him for the year

Just an observation but Anquan has been injured on almost exactly the same dates for 3 of the last 4 years. Aug 19th 2001 ACL left kneeAugust 11th 2002 MCL sprain left kneenow August 10th 2004 (tears or sprains right knee?)This guys knees are obviously allergic to light practice.

JohnnyU and I don't seem to agree to often, but he's right on Fantasy Karma.Be very wary; tread lightly. It's gonna get ya.Please post your roster, so we may downgrade your players.

Heres a qiote from the Ari board if some ppl cant logg on.

arizona link

"I had my knee lock up on me last fall & the pain was excruciating. I was playing basketball with my nephews & made a simple fake & went down instantly. I had torn the meniscus & it lodged in the knee. I had surgery the next day & was out of commission for about a month. I'm sure a more serious injury could cause the knee to lock up, but cartilage tears can do that. Let's hope that is the case!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Some comments are:"I saw Quans injury its not good. He went to the ground screaming in pain and grabbing his knee. It was during light warm-ups. He was screaming loud and was in severe pain. I honestly think we have lost him for the year.""Quan Status = Denny said knee locked up, Undergoing further tests....said he was walking..it was the right knee. Denny doesnt know if he had an MRI yesterday. I meant that he was walking when it happened not that he was walking afterwards.""Dennis Green...His Right Knee. "Need to do some further tests". Going for an MRI."Have to wait and see..."""I image nothing will be reported till tomorrow"

This is kinda what I was thinking when I heard "locked up." Could definitely be meniscus. If so, he could be out the whole year. Think DeShaun Foster.

Sounds like he had some loose pieces floating in that knee. That would explain the 'locking' of the knee. If that's the case, nothing a quick little probe and a couple of weeks rest won't take care of.

Some meniscus tears cause the knee to lock up because the torn meniscus gets caught in rotation. There is a 4 to 1 ratio of women to men who injure their ACL in college basketball.

If it is a meniscus tear then that would be great news...I had my Meniscus repaired..it's a bout a 3-4 week recovery..but from what Shane described...I think it's an acl or mcl...

pure speculation---->

If I had to GUESS, I think he is out a month. The screaming in pain sounds scary, but I have read (in the past 5 minutes) that a meniscus tear can be very painful, but is not season ending.

I guess we will just have to wait until tomorrow :(

The Dolphins are better than the Cards even w/out Boston & RW

I'm not a doctor, but about the only thing that can lock up the knee is cartilage. It can occur at just about anytime (personal experience). I could definitely be wrong, though, so don't quote me.One good thing about cartilage is it has a fairly quick recovery time in most cases. One thing is for sure, something is wrong. A healthy knee shouldn't lock up like that. Anyway, I hope he's OK. Forget FF...the NFL shouldn't lose great young players like Anquan Boldin for any length of time.
