Brandon Marshall Ruled Out For Sunday (1 Viewer)

Could the Chiefs win this game if Marshall didn't play? I sure wouldn't rule it out. Orton won't throw to anyone else and the Broncos' running game isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

CBS 4 Denver reports that Brandon Marshall suffered a potentially severe pull or strain of his hamstring in Wednesday's practice.

The injury is to Marshall's right leg. The contract-year wideout came up limping at the end of a drill and had to be tended to by Broncos medical staff. He did not return to finish out practice. Marshall's loss would likely be a death blow to the Broncos' hopes of advancing in the playoffs. He is essentially the only pass catcher Josh McDaniels consistently calls plays for.

I agree. But if they are lucky enough to make the playoffs, any hopes they might have of advancing hinge on having a healthy Marshall...This still sucks, though. Marshall is perhaps the only reason watching Denver games has been entertaining this season. He's far and away the only explosive player they have (at least on the offensive side of the ball).

I disagree, they have basically the same offensive players as last year, sans Cutler. Just because the current coaching staff doesn't use the players (Royal, Scheffler, Stokely etc) in the same fashion as the old coaching staff, doesn't mean they aren't explosive. It's clear to me that McDaniels doesn't trust Orton, or he is too conservative by nature, but I sure hope he learns how to open up the playbook next year, or at least become a little less predictable. I think there is room for improvement with this team, but hey, it's Josh McDaniels' rookie season as a head coach too, and he's made rookie mistakes. I'm willing to give him a pass for now, and hope things improve next year. I think some things have improved already despite the rookie mistakes.

That seems like a really good bet. Almost a no brainer. I think Denver pulls out a win, but I'm not thinking they cover that spread. Good bet.

Let us remember Marshal caught 21 balls in the game against Indy, a losing effort. Not saying it will happen again... just more of an fyi.

I also once ate a whole plate of nachos with cold runny cheese. I didn't feel so good right afterward, but I felt better later.

He's taking the high road on this one so far. I'm tentatively siding with Marshall, though who knows what the truth is regarding the severity of his injury...

McDaniels has done a pretty decent coaching job this season, especially early on (although how much credit should go to Mike Nolan is up for debate). His GM skills are still unknown (and he is the de facto GM with number-cruncher Brian Xanders holding the official title). But this kind of crap needs some explanation for the sanity of the fan base. We already know he's a liar from the Cutler fiasco, we don't need him to be a tyrant as well.

He still put up great numbers in a "meh" system and he can sign with a better team with better coaching next season for probably more money then the Broncos were going to offer.
