Build a FRANCHISE draft (1 Viewer)

Smith is in my top 3-4 defenders so its a great pick. I just wonder about how invisible he was in the playoffs.

1.22 - Browns select WR Adriel Jeremiah "A. J." Green

At 24 AJ is already a 2-time pro-bowler and regarded as one of the best receivers in the league. He IS the Bengals offense despite getting double-coverage all of the time. He has great character and drive to become the best.

I thought about going defense but I am hoping one of the guys I want will fall to my pick in round 2.

I'll be all over the place this weekend. In case I'm not here when my pick comes up, here's my email address:

Sorry just found the google doc . Thought Ben fell through the cracks but didnt. Might be a huge mistake to pass on a Q but I'll do it. I'm passing on sone obvious picks & going with a physical freak . I want to run a 4/3 & disrupt the passing game without blitzing. He had an ok year but is only 24 , JPP come on down

24 Atlanta Jason Pierre Paul DE

1.21 - San Diego selects - Aldon Smith, Defensive EndPremier end rusher who constantly pressures all these sissy QBs who are being taken. Young enough to play a long time and very versatile. Was hoping Geno Atkins fell to me but Smith is an excellent Plan B .
In case it wasn't transparent, Smith is the guy I debated taking vs. Von Miller.

Dolfan is now on the clock at 24 and hasn't logged in since Tuesday. It might be a good time to find a replacement.

Spin said he had to back out. We would need another replacement. Or one of the teams doing one team would need to take a second team.

Oh missed that post from Spin. If any newbies want in, or if someone wants a second franchise, post ASAP.

Can't go wrong with JPP. Guy is a dominant pass rusher and also plays the run very well.

With the 25th pick of the first round. Dolphins select - Navorro Bowman - Linebacker

"QBs are pretty much all in the same tier at this time. Figured to go with the best linebacker. Could have gone younger, but Bowman is proven and will anchor my defense for the next few seasons."

With pictures, all is possible

Sorry, I was out at dinner when the pick was made.

With the 25th pick of the draft, the Chiefs select:

Richard Sherman, CB

It's a passing league and Sherman is the best CB in the league. I wanted a rusher but all of the ones I wanted are gone. So instead, I'll take the top CB who is hungry, young, and talented.

1.26 Buffalo Bills - Haloti Ngata, DT

Man this is not easy. I lwent Ngata who can play DT in a 4-3 or can play either NT or DE in a 3-4. Gets to the qb, stout vs the run, a legit disruptor.

In the Google Doc, somebody added "reverse" every 3 rounds. Please note that typically in 3RR, the order is reversed only a single time in the third round. After that, the draft is completely a snake draft with no more subsequent reverses. I just wanted to make sure that was clear with all of the participants.

Correct

1.27 Indy takes Tony Romo.

Had to take a qb, and Romo is right up there with the big boys in terms of his production the last few years.

1.29 Houston selects Darrelle Revis CB

Revis Island; 27 years old, lock down corner, happy to start my franchise with a building block like this on D.

Pick #30 Carolina panthers select

Ryan Tannehill

too tired/headache for a write up. Will update later

1.6 Chicago Bears - Joe Flacco, QB

I mean I'm really shocked that Griffin and Wilson were chosen when there are guys that have won Super Bowls out there, with just as much talent, probably more lets be honest. I had 4 guys I was deciding between here. I took age, talent, leadership, and postseason success into account, and after what he just did (the Montana like 11-0 td-int), I had to take Flacco. His playoff record at his age is really incredible.

15-1 td-int last two postseasons. 9 playoff wins in 5 yrs. Yeah...he sucks

I'd consider him above average, not the 6th best player in the league. Around week 9 of this year he would have fallen to the 3rd round in this draft. You guys are putting way too much emphasis on recent team results. When half of the playoff teams turnover 9 months from now, many of these picks will be looking bad. If this draft had been conducted last year Stafford would have gone in the top 5 picks.

Has an offensive lineman been drafted yet???

Bass -I'm all for commentary, but not the kind that may lead to changing peoples drafts. Please avoid questions like "has x been drafted yet"

Jaworski, who I have a ton of respect for, has Flacco 8th on his last qb power ranking and that was after the reg season, before the playoffs. That's enough validation for me.

Me taking him 6th doesn't mean I consider him the 6th best player. It mostly means with my draft position I either take him or have my qb be Mark Sanchez or some other loser.

Or take another (better) QB who was still available...

People have different opinions. Most people may not agree with it, but there was no way Flacco was dropping to the late second round. If RBM had Flacco at the top of his board, he had to take him there. Having said that, I personally think Brees was the obvious choice there but differing opinions are what make drafts fun.

All I was saying is he had other choices. It wasn't Flacco or Sanchez. Even in round 2 there will be better Qbs than Sanchez.

So lets summarize by saying some people like Flacco more than others and that is why they may or may not have chosen to draft them at a certain point. Can we move onto another subject already? This thread has become like 6 pages of Joe Flacco with some picks mixed in between. :boxing:

I really wanted to pair up Sherman and Revis. I thought Revis's injury would let him fall to me in the second.

But if we were going on best players like Bass said, I meant I just wouldn't have taken a QB. I'd say Rodgers and Brady are the only two QBs I would have in my top 6 best players.
