I was taking a little nostalgia trip, cause I grew up with DQ, and the cherry dipped cone was a favorite.

Little searching and I find out they discontinued these in May, and now I have a new pet peeve

While I am no fan of SAS, he's not the only "yeller" in sports talk these days. I think he was probably the first to do it, but there are a lot of heads that are doing the same thing now.

Have you never heard of **** Vitale? At least he knew something.

Of course I've heard of Vitale; I read one of his books when I was like 20 years old. Huge fan of his. His "style" just comes across differently.

Take a listen to Rob Parker or Zach Lowe. They yell. Vitale is just an over-passionate loud Italian, IMO.

I'm ok with email, text, phone where you answer when I call, or phone where we schedule to talk at a specific time. But if our communication relies on you calling me back at a random time, there's a near zero chance that we're going to get to talk to each other.

Here's my real life example that you can try. Put The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the nintendo Switch in your Amazon cart. Each morning you'll see a notice that the cost changes by several cents. What's the point? It's so weird.

I share this one. A main thoroughfare here, near where I used to live in Portland was closed for two and a half years and it was absolutely awful getting in and out. They could've slowed the project down closing less lanes at a time, but this costs more. I feel like this should've been budgeted and if it delayed the project more, so be it.

People that wait at street corners not intending to cross in either direction in the immediate future, Just waiting.

Back away ten feet please so every car approaching the crosswalk doesn't have to slow down to a stop because it looks like you are crossing.

I guess I need to specify I am talking about corners without stoplights and in a state where you must yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk as described.

Not sure if other states don't require you to yield, but if there are, somebody from that state would surely point out that they don't have to yield, wondering what's the issue.

Also this is a brand new subdivision and surrounding area so it is not some old relic of a town.

When my wife and I go on walks, we'll run into this quite often when we have to cross busy roads. We're in a state where cars are supposed to yield. But I don't want to be the moron stopping traffic. I can wait a few seconds. So we always try to back away from the curb. But that wasn't enough. So now we back away from the curb and basically turn our backs on the road to make it clear that we're not expecting the cars to stop for us. That seems to do the trick. I'm pretty sure we're the only ones on earth doing this. You're welcome, empty vessels.

This is the balance people need to figure out. Cars should yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. The key is in the crosswalk or activity entering. People walking shouldn't just think cars should stop. I thank you for standing back until ready to cross. Most likely if you pause for 2 or 3 cars it would be clear for you to cross without backing everyone one up.

There is a bike path that crosses a 4 lane city street with a grass median. I swear both bikers and runners don't even slow down coming into the street. I am amazed people have not been hit. They should just put up a stop light but that probably won't stop them from going through without stopping. Speed limit on the road is 35 and even when no one is present in the crossing cars will slow down to 25. Follow traffic laws people.

I feel like I've posted this one in this thread probably more than once. My #1 pet peeve in life is people that refuse to return a cart to the corral. I spent two years in high school being the cart wrangler at the local grocery store, it's sooooooo much easier to do that job when you don't have to wander the entire lot for the carts.

I've caused my wife to dive into the car for cover numerous times because I'm loading groceries and see someone shove a cart into an empty space instead of the corral, and I'll very loudly give them a "Go ahead and just leave it wherever the hell is convenient for YOU", "don't worry about anyone else", "I'll be sure to come over there and return it for you so you can hurry up and be on your way", "wouldn't want you to have to exert yourself since the cart corral is SOOOO far away", etc. Shaming them results in getting the cart into the corral only ~50% of the time though.

Not sure if this is a pet peeve per se but I have noticed that 99% of all restaurant bathroom sinks don't come out far enough so when you are rinsing your hands you have to essentially rub up against the back of the sink to get water to rinse off the soap. How hard is it to get a sink neck long enough to reach the middle of the sink bowl so you don't have to contort your hands to get all the soap off.

Seems like this is a recent development as I don't recall it being as prevalent as it is now. I can't remember the last sink that was designed properly.

I think it's closely tied to the neck of the faucet not being long enough. It doesn't give you enough room to wave where you need to in order to activate the "touchless" faucet (even if you are touching the actual sink.). Ugh. Terrible design.

a friend of mine who works in management says it's more simple than that even. your employee ID/name/email is attached to your "anonymous" response

he would sometimes drop sly comments related to things people had apparently said in the anonymous replies and watch them squirm. he did it to me once before cluing me in on it.

i'm all positives and shiny language if forced to answer those things now.

And they're never offered as an "if you'd like to leave feedback, here's how to do so". Our company does one every year, they send it out with a 30 day window to complete it. Every 5 days they send a mass email with participation % broken down by each department, with their "goal participation" of >90%. As the deadline gets closer, the reminder emails quit coming from the HR person who set up the survey. My manager sends one asking for everyone to participate. Then his boss sends one. Then her boss sends the next one. 3 days before it's due the freaking EVP of whocares is mass emailing congratulating Team X for being at 100% and shaming Team Y for dragging up the rear at 72%.

It's always 25 questions of "how do you feel about this statement?". Strongly agree/slightly agree/neutral/slightly disagree/strongly disagree type scale. I choose neutral for every single answer every time.

Not at one restaurant we went to. The artful space above the sink was reflective, but not sharply enough to actually see anything useful. It was all coppery rather than mirrored.
