I was a realtor at one point. I was naked from the waist down for my pic.

The purest way to exude confidence in your head shot. Nice.

It brought me great joy everytime I handed one out

this is gonna be pretty niche but it's driving me crazy. maybe some of the the SE WI guys will know what i'm talking about.

there's a guy on sports radio out of Milwaukee that unnecessarily adds the word "on" in sentences. it's so petty and minor but it drives me insane.

My MIL does this with the word "then" at the end of sentences. Example: "Well, I'm going to go take a shower, then". Or "What should we do for dinner, then?" I think this is a mid-west thing, but I'm not sure, then.

Well, it's a good thing I didn't try to pass if off as one of your pet peeves then.

Seriously though, there's no reason that couldn't have been two texts max instead of coming in one after another separately like that. It doesn't bother me much when my phone is on do not disturb/mute, but there are times I need notification sounds on. It's even more annoying when coming in through the car when driving.

This wouldn't solve the problem you're describing, but I recommend that everyone go through their phone's notification settings and, for each app, ask if they really need to be notified or if it's just a way for the app developer to drive engagement. Text messages, sure. If your spouse is texting you that they're trapped at the bottom of a well, you need to know that right away. But, for example, do you really need your phone to buzz with news that the Bears' backup punter has a hangnail and may be forced to miss OTAs?

Actually, now that I think of it, that is a pet peeve. I've found Fantasy Life is the best app for breaking alerts, but even though they helpfully categorize Major and Minor alerts, they don't appear to allow you to set different notification preferences based on that. I want to know right away if CMC tore his Achilles, but the news that the Niners signed Heywood Jabloughmie to a futures contract can wait (Oh, who am I kidding? If someone with that name ever made it onto an NFL roster, I'd totally want to know ASAP)

My boss is the "Mad Quoter". She "air quotes" all the "time". In emails and "messages" my eyes bleed and when she does it "live" I want to slap her "hands".
She also likes to red ! most emails thereby rendering them all so not important.

I hate reducing things to boomer verses millennials, I’m tail end Gen X, but this captures the some of the thoughts about excessive usage of ellipses. I’ve moved on and ignore his habit. I’ll move on before this turns into an ice cream like discussion…

If your family made hand-cranked homemade ice cream (we had one of these bad boys - and had to take turns cranking that beech - really tough toward the end) on rare occasions in the summer as my family did - it was really special. And we were almost always able to talk my mom out of putting those GD peaches in it - we wanted straight vanilla man!!!

if you have never had REAL homemade ice cream, do yourself a favor and do it - it's great fun for the family and very special ...brings back such great memories - and it's even better the next day.

I love all kinds of fancy flavors - and there are some awesome custom and expensive places like Jeni's that I love ...still extremely bitter about them never bringing back "Bangkok Peanut" flavor

I was in suburban Atlanta a couple weeks ago and noticed that they have "flashing yellow" left turn signals. They do turn green, too, which obviously means you can go.... but they don't make you sit around and wait for the next green to go. If it's flashing yellow and safe to turn, you can go. I wish they did that everywhere.

The climbing gym I go to has a ridiculously crowded parking lot. Like if you come at the wrong time you can circle around for 10 minutes and not find a spot. Everyone that goes to this place knows this.

So random guy, when you walk out of the gym and a car is following you, and you get in your car and start it, yet ****ing sit there for 10 minutes doing whatever, you are the worst. Pull out and make your phone call somewhere else. Or at the very least waive me off when I am following you and just tell me that you aren’t leaving yet.

"Opening the pint, the honey peanut butter base has the expected orange color. Lots of the shredded coconut is available as well. Digging in the peanut butter ice cream is quite good. Sometimes peanut butter ice cream can be thick and heavy, but mixing it with honey does a good job of brightening it up a bit. I liked it. The shredded coconut adds quite a bit of texture to the pint. The coconut flavor it provides is not too strong. It goes with the peanut butter well. I did not notice the cayenne pepper right away but it was something that slowly built up as I ate several spoonfuls. Jeni's website descriptions often talk about the 'finish' of an ice cream flavor. That sounds like what is happening with the cayenne pepper here. I liked this effect. The spice did not distract from the flavor while I was eating it, but I noticed it later."

There was a decent documentary detailing the company’s negligence, called We All Scream:

Four people die from a listeria outbreak after Blue Bell Ice Cream refuses to pull its product from the shelves. But Texans stand by their brand with almost cult-like devotion.

I took my wife to the factory when we were dating since it is outside the houston area. I don't get the devotion, people love it but it is no different than other major icecream brands to me.

I am literally talking about just any parking space. I have given up hope of getting a good spot. There are like 30 fewer spots than probably what they need, so people circle around just looking for any spot

Left turn arrows that turn green when no one is in the turn lane. Everyone else has a red light.

I was in suburban Atlanta a couple weeks ago and noticed that they have "flashing yellow" left turn signals. They do turn green, too, which obviously means you can go.... but they don't make you sit around and wait for the next green to go. If it's flashing yellow and safe to turn, you can go. I wish they did that everywhere.

Became common a decade ago. But did not catch on in all states yet.

I travel a good bit for work and I think this was the first I ever saw of it. It was awesome, probably saved me a good 10 minutes on my drive from project site back to hotel.

I thought that was the norm, i grew up in wyoming/montana and every left turn arrow either turned blinking yellow or turned off to indicate you could turn. I never saw a red turn arrow until i moved to texas.

Definitely mediocre ice cream. But even average ice cream is tasty.

I just can’t get over how willingly people look the other way, in the face of egregious, intentional neglect of public health. Old habits die hard, I guess.

I think the hand wave to let the person know you aren't leaving is polite, but just because someone gets into their car doesn't mean they are leaving right away. They might be waiting for their wife, maybe forgot something in their car, needed to take an important call or finish one before driving, who knows. But yeah, the hand wave to let a person know you aren't leaving is standard courtesy.

In my young days when I was a jerk, my friends and I used to troll people in busy lots. If someone was following me trying to get my spot, I'd cut in between cars to the next row of spots, then cut back once the car(s) scrambled to catch up to me.
