Capers to be fired, but Casserly keeps his job? (1 Viewer)

That's hilarious. Capers is actually less to blame in my opinion than Casserly, who has put together a roster of bad players and, when given the chance to improve the roster, only brings in more bad players. :lmao:

I don't think(other than the beginnings of the league) any expansion team's first coach has become their longtime coach we associate with a franchise. It's the nature of the beast and I believe Capers said something like this years ago when he got the job. Many also said it was a horrible career move for him back then, because of this. I wonder if he'll be a HC again in the NFL.

Expansion or not, Capers has one winning season in eight years. Bothe of his expansion gigs have ended in the same with a seriously disappointing year with the criticism that he is too conservative in his approach to the game. Capers is a "salt of earth" type of guy who has handled being the joke of the league with professionalism beyond anything imaginable. Seemingly a really good guy who is not a good head football coach. As for Casserly, he probably kept his job the way he got it, being a great salesman of his ability. He also has track record a GM which is not favorable, but while hard working and decent guy, is much slicker than Capers.

I agree. If Houston drafts Reggie Bush, he BETTER be playing at offensive tackle, or I think Casserly is going to have hell to pay.

I've watched Houston play quite a bit and Capers coaches "not to lose" He is way too conservative. I think they have some talent. A good draft a few FA's and good coaching and they can turn it around quick.
