Hook
Sandlot
Wizard of Oz
Never Ending Story (maybe not the Artax part)
Never Ending Story 2 (Valcor!)
Little Giants
Labyrinth
Never Ending Story
Never Ending Story II
All cheesey but kids might like them.
To be fair, I don't think I ever saw it as a kid even though I saw the original a million times. Or maybe I did, but was 18 by then and didn't like it.I liked it as a kid.![]()
That sounds like a long night.eoMMan said:Never Ending Story

My son just turned 4 and same. Also stupid stuff like Fireman Sam and Titipo that I can’t even begin to describe.Zow said:BTW, I'm a little jealous. With my kids' ages i'm subject to the like of Paw Patrol, Ryan, Frozens 1 and 2, Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, etc. on the daily. It's a win if I can convince them to watch something like Wall-E or Moana.
Jesus. I must've watched that 20 times by the time I turned 16. Loved that movie (especially the soundtrackJust watched Maximum Overdrive with the kids
). But no way I'd let my kids watch it before at least the age of 10.Clash is a good one, can’t remember if I’ve tried to get them to watch that one before. I know the effects are going to seem horribly dated. Might try that one tomorrowSome great ones mentioned already.
Here are some other "classics" I plan to force the kids to watch in the near future:
Clash of the Titans (80's)
Flash Gordon
Time Bandits
Planet of the Apes (60's)
Mine are 7 8 and 11. A little gorier than I remembered but nothing too badJesus. I must've watched that 20 times by the time I turned 16. Loved that movie (especially the soundtrack). But no way I'd let my kids watch it before at least the age of 10.
Yeah thats what I was thinking. Plenty of blood and LARGE amounts of casualties. But fun as hell, no doubt. Only film Stephen King ever directed.Mine are 7 8 and 11. A little gorier than I remembered but nothing too bad
Break out the shrooms with them for this one. Some great ones mentioned already.

Me too, but I think Beastmaster might be too dark/graphic for my 10 year old daughter, if I'm remember correctly.Clash is a good one, can’t remember if I’ve tried to get them to watch that one before. I know the effects are going to seem horribly dated. Might try that one tomorrow
I always liked Beastmaster too, might have to get that one going too

Terry Gilliam FTW. Time Bandits, Brazil, the Monty Python movies, 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas are all spectacularly enhanced by mind-altering substances. Or so I've heard.Break out the shrooms with them for this one.
Took my kids (13 & 11) to see "Knives Out" and they liked it so I thought they might like "Clue". Didn't get through the first 15 minutes, too slow with no action. Although I had to skip ahead to show them the singing telegram and they thought that was funny. Have you / they seen "Knives Out"?El Floppo said:We watched Clue recently...both kids (12yo son, 8yo daughter) enjoyed it.
I love old SciFi and talked my wife (then girlfriend) into watching PotA with me years ago. I must have picked it up at different parts in the past and didn't see the beginning. The first 15 minutes are the crashed astronauts just wondering around. My wife was bored and out before anything started to happen. Get ready to FF if the natives get restless. Some great ones mentioned already.

Does Will play a bird that's a detective or does he just detect birds?Unfortunately the kids are watching Will Smith: Bird Detective at the moment
He’s like a special agent that gets turned into a pigeonDoes Will play a bird that's a detective or does he just detect birds?
I think I introduced my daughter to the Holy Grail around age 10. We've probably watched it together 20 times since then.Come to think of it, Holy Grail might be a good one for the kiddos...
We started with Knives Out before the covid, which they liked. 12yo wanted more who-dunnits, and Clue was the first follow-up.Took my kids (13 & 11) to see "Knives Out" and they liked it so I thought they might like "Clue". We all watched the John Wick Trilogy a couple of weeks ago. Father of the year here, I know.
Going with Back to the Future next, followed by Karate Kid. I figure those will round out a pretty awesome foursome after we did Goonies and Gremlins.
Will have to revisit the thread after that.
For a 9 year old girl?I am sure this has already been mentioned but Roadhouse is a classic.
Lea Thompson doing it with an alien duck? Works for me, but not sure about it being good for the kids.Howard the Duck
