Cowpokes over Brownies (1 Viewer)

Believe me when I say I have waited a long, long time for my beloved Browns to make some noise. Although we have been graced with 5 PRIMETIME games this season I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that last seasons success has set us up for some 2008 humility. The schedule looks brutal compared to '07 and with the recent injuries ala Edwards,Anderson,Lewis going into this first game I shudder to think what's in store with NFC East and AFC South opponents lurking. If I was a betting man , which I am, I would say the Dallas squad will easily manhandle my Brownies like a rag doll this Sunday. The 5.5 pts spread is a gift to the general public. I hope this does not discourage my boys when they host Pittsburgh next week for Sunday night.

I hope I'm very wrong here

hey, Beau, just thought i'd let you know, there's a whole Browns thread full of discussion if you scroll down the front page a bit.

and yeah, hopefully you are wrong!

The Browns are very good on offense. Unfortunately, the Cowboys are very good on offense and very good on defense.Dallas 33Browns 20

There is a very good reason, that the line is low. Don't give up on Cleveland so easy. :goodposting:

Yet to be determined at this point. I mean last year they were average on defense. Now it appears as if they should be better on defense this year, but I don't think you can label them as a good defense quite yet.

Newman being out is a big lift for the Browns, as well as the lack of WR depth. I'm still happily playing the 'Boys D against the Browns this week w/ DA, Jamal & Braylon coming off injury and missed time. That, and the fact that teams seemed to be zeroing in on DA in the latter part of last year.

Yeah, newman for adam is a big lift...................night, night, brownies.Yeah........It's game timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! :pickle: :potkettle: :pickle: :banned:

this game will be as lopsided as you can get, it might not be a blowout score, but Dallas will dominate the game in time of possession and first downs and run ALL OVER the Browies, probably 200+ yards rushing...

and DA will get sacked frequently, esp if Jamal doesn't play,as the 'Boys will stack the line and force him to throw.

I think the Final Score will be relatively close. It's hard for any NFL team to go on the road and blow a team out, especially when it's expected.

The injuries to key players like Anderson, Jamal and Braylon is a concern but Cleveland's offensive line is solid and will help out.

The loss of Newman does bother me. Sure, having Pacman in there could turn out to be good, but it's still a question mark heading into the game.

The only way this game turns into a Dallas blowout is if Dallas can put pressure on the QB. If Dallas does that, then they could turn it into a route, but I'm not sold on that just yet.

I expect Dallas to win in a high scoring game.

The thing the Browns have going for them is the absolute disgrace of an opener last year. That HAS to be in the back of Romeo's mind when coaching for this game. The team will be more prepared, although I expect a conservative attack for at least a half with a lot of Harrison and Wright to keep the Boys' offense off the field, and a lot of dinks and dunks for Anderson to get his sealegs back. I don't nearly expect it to be the shootout that most do simply because the Browns will try to work the clock down. As a Browns fan, I want no part of a shootout with the Boys.

That said, I think that injuries really hurt us this preseason. I'm not too optimistic about this one. 28-13 Boys with the lone Browns score being on a return by Steptoe.
