How much a month with how much down?Think I’m gonna lease an Equinox EV. I’ve wanted a Blazer for quite awhile, was leaning towards one of those, but the equinox is priced significantly cheaper and 90% of the time it’s just me driving to and from work (~100 miles a week)
I’ve been driving a 2010 focus that I bought gently used for 10+ years, my 16 year old is getting that next month so I need something new, figure I’ll give an EV a shot

I got quotes from 2 dealerships that are pretty far apart lowest was like $3K down $160/mo not really sure I want to put that much down on a lease but also trying to keep payments low
Going to check it out tomorrow, feel like something is off because other quotes was like $280/mo $3K down
Both 2 year 10K miles
I have a feeling the other dealer is adding in some incentives I dont qualify for, but its on my way home from work so I think its worth stopping in to get confirmation
Yeah I know it’s generally a bad idea to put anything down, I kind of prefer leasing even if it doesn’t make the most sense financially.Do not put any money down on a lease. And, if you don't know the math of leases, I would do a little research into it to learn before signing one. They can still be good deals, but just knowing monthly payments isn't good enough at all.

I may buy again, I generally get like 10 years, just hate dealing with repairs and maintenance
Also just kind of want to try an EV out
My wife called this accurately a year ago when Cybertrucks started showing up in our neighborhood: they’re the “HEY LOOK AT ME” Hummers from 10-15 years ago.Tesla Cybertruck involved in a significant accident in my community, highlighting potential safety shortcomings. Driver error likely contributed to the accident, but cars and trucks are designed to account for human error. Not sure that's the case with this vehicle. Beware.
i mean if it’s the accident that happened in the bay area at 3am with the truck smashed into trees then i’d think that the outcome would have been the same in any vehicle.Tesla Cybertruck involved in a significant accident in my community, highlighting potential safety shortcomings. I think the concern it that they couldn't put the fire out. I'm not sure if it would have been a different situation with an ICE Silverado, but the Cybertruck will get extra scrutiny, based on many factors.i mean if it’s the accident that happened in the bay area at 3am with the truck smashed into trees then i’d think that the outcome would have been the same in any vehicle.Tesla Cybertruck involved in a significant accident in my community, highlighting potential safety shortcomings. Officers attempted to extinguish the flames, but the fire was too intense for the extinguishers to be effective, police said.
The Piedmont Fire Department responded and was ultimately able to extinguish the flames, according to Bowers.

Other circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash and the resulting fire were still under investigation, Bowers said, adding there was no sign of any mechanical problems with the vehicle or that the Cybertruck's lithium battery played a role in the fire.

That wasn't the point of the article, but I put some links below. The latest recall was at the top of the news cycle a couple weeks ago or so. Of course details pertaining to the accident are limited, but we'll know more. My primary point remains. We build cars with safety features that protect against human error. Seat belts - two point and later three point - air bags, all season tires, third brake light, etc. But it's not clear to me, and many in our community more familiar with this car have remarked on this, that this car was built with safety in mind. Crumple zones, mechanical door handles, firewalls. Imagine coming upon a car on fire with people inside, and you couldn't figure out how to open the door and you couldn't break the glass (because it's "armor" glass).Nothing in your link suggests an unsafe car.Driver error and an unsafe car. Your original post stated that the accident was the result of design flaws, a claim for which there is no evidence for. Anyone ride in the Volkswagen van? Seems cute in the commercials but wondering how it is in real life.
Less than 1% of EV owners switch back to gas-powered cars after making the purchase, according to a new Global EV Driver Survey, which includes over 23,000 people from 18 countries.
I looked at Buzz inventory near me and the dealership had 4 listed in the 72k range - not sure if they were in transit or shared inventory. VW sold less than 400 in November, but I've seen lots of ads over the past 4 weeks.Anyone ride in the Volkswagen van? Seems cute in the commercials but wondering how it is in real life.
I've been patiently waiting for an ev mini-van. China makes some very nice ones, but they're not allowed. The ID.Buzz is coming in between 62 and 72k. Way more than VW initially claimed. It's range is 230 miles way less than expected. I'll keep waiting. Range anxiety is still a thing with me. I've had a Model Y for over two years, real world 300 mile range (vs listed as 330), and I've never had an issue. I'm sure the Buzz would be fine, but still... 230?
This just caught my eye. EVs get a lot of negative propaganda, imo.

I said a couple years ago I didn't think I'd ever buy another ICE vehicle. Feel stronger about that now than then. Maybe a used truck to tinker with some day and use for truck things only. I know a bunch of CyberTruck owners and they're overwhelmingly in love with it. Some say it's the best vehicle they've ever owned. All rave about the driving experience being incredible due to the steer by wire and big cushy tires. I fully intended on getting one with my low number, but again, the price was way more than expected, and the public response was weird. I don't want to drive something that gets constant attention, but I do want a truck for truck things.
I've liked the fsd in trials but just raw AP on highways is better than anything else out there. I wish they would allow you to get eap again. I might buy it.
Same here. I would buy an EV minivan tomorrow if there was an option. I can't believe nobody has pushed one of these out yet. Oh, hah, I forgot why I jumped in this thread. I bought FSD. Tesla gave me a $2000 referral credit thanks to a CyberTruck purchaser using my code. So 6k for FSD. Aaand it is only transferable through the end of the year. I want to upgrade. I was in Vegas this weekend looking at inventory. My bro is 71. He doesn't like driving these days. Says he's old and he's just not a good driver anymore. He was blown away by FSD. It is really really good. I think I made another sale. The old guy drives a 2002 Town Car, haha. It is pristine. Anyway, every now and then a Model X pops up under 80k with the tax credit and that's my target for the next three weeks. I might sell the Y to bro and not transfer FSD though. Tesla is so far ahead on this tech GM just dropped their program. It's expected they'll just contract through Tesla. Like I doubt I'll buy another ICE vehicle, I doubt I'll ever be without FSD again.
Sorry but what is FSD?
Yea I was a truck guy, but realized I was hauling kids more than stuff, so sold the Tundra and got a Caravan. Van is great with the stow away seats but it most definitely isn't the nicest of rides (even got the top of the line one). But it suits my hauling needs nicely. Can get 8 sheets of drywall or plywood in there and it can tow our camper.Same here. I would buy an EV minivan tomorrow if there was an option. I can't believe nobody has pushed one of these out yet. It's been really hard to understand. They have so much space for a big battery and dual motors, they'd be awesome vehicles. I've kind of wanted a mini van instead of a truck for a few years. I need cargo space all the time and I've almost always had a truck, but I see mini vans doing truck things in Home Depot parking lots all the time. Look at this one with 500+ mile range. I've seen one with 600 mile range and fold away seats to make it a cargo van. Ugh. I want one.
I played around with it. It rarely made a mistake, but the prospect of it making a mistake kept me fully alert and at attention the entire time. And if I'm that locked in, I might as well be driving the car myself.Sorry but what is FSD?
Sorry, I explained AP - Auto Pilot. FSD - Full Self Driving. From my garage in the SoCal desert to my Bro's in Las Vegas, 3 hrs, I did not use the steering wheel, accelerator, or brakes.
What is the 600 mile range one with fold away seats?
And if I'm that locked in, I might as well be driving the car myself.

Adapter arrived this week. I turned in my 2023 MachE back in September. New one get built tomorrow, so I'm ahead of the game on this I guess.ETA on the adapter is August. I guess 50K others owners ordered ahead of me.Signed up for complimentary Tesla adapter today for the MachE. Haven’t seen how much of the network that would make available. More options will help reduce range anxiety.
Hard disagree. They look insane. I legitimately laugh when I see one. It's like a Hummer for weirdos.I got a CT res for giggles. I guess I could have sold it but let someone on Reddit have it for whatever I paid $42? Several months back. Can't remember. They love it.
They do look good in matte black.
Idk. When the Pontiac Aztec came out everyone laughed their *** off. Now pretty much every car on the road has that styling. I don't love it but don't hate it.Hard disagree. They look insane.
