Total value: 250
Rationale: Went with Peyton and LT last year and made it to the last cut, but was disappointed in how little Peyton helped. He seldom outscored middle of the road QB's by more than a few points. I decided to take a cut at QB to strengthen elsewhere. Gambling a little on CPep and Garrard to backup Ben, but their costs were too good to pass up. With the flex, I wanted at least 3 quality backs active every week--at least 2 should produce good scores and if 3 do, it's a jackpot. I'm in the quantity over quality camp for WR's: Berrian, Holmes or Bruce won't outproduce CJ or Steve Smith, but I"m hoping the combo of all 3 will stay close. Since I got all 3 for the same price as one stud, I can live with that. Filled in with low-cost gamble WR's, hoping 1 of them each week will fill in any gaps from the three mid-level guys. Thought Witten was the cheapest of the potential high-scoring TE's and gampbled a little with just Johnson as a backup (like many others, it appears). With the 8 bucks left, I wanted 3 D's and 3 K's so that I have at least 2 of each active each week--a couple points here or there may be what gets you past a cut.
I specifically stayed away from "combos" like LT and Gates. Too much money on 2 guys with the smae bye week tempts fate a little too much for my pleasure.
