Cav> relax, that owner guy isn’t going to make all those hillbillies sit next to you in lower bowl forever.  plus you might get whaler third jerseys.  and Brett pesce is probably on the waiver wires. these are the good times

I watch from home and have options.  Wrong again.

I am disappointed when I get a trade rejected because people are ignorant.  Seems fair.  I got a text crying about the trade and told them Thornton was out.  Guaranteed that guy downed the trade and had no idea of the facts.  It's not like I am a freaking newbie.  Just sad.

:lmao:   No, you got a text stating it "isn't fair to us competing. He's getting one of those players for free."    That's my mindset on reviewing trades as I ran 200 leagues/year for a living from 1988-2014. I knew Thornton was hurt.

Nylander has more points and shots than Lindholm by 25%.  Thornton could be back in a month. He also has 25% more points than Lindholm.  There was no reason to include him. You were giving Thornton to him for zero consideration.  That's why the league members voided it.   This is an incredibly hard league to win. So much has to go right for an extended period of time. No one should get a free player.

Major kudos for staying active and playing the game. Wish everyone did that.

Did you post Thornton was dead before or after you texted me to complain?
about 10 minutes after.  I was trying to help you not get any more votes LOL

ETA: It was at least 87 minutes after the text.

this is at 1:59pm.

I text you at 10:32 AM MT.     So that's 3 hr 27 minutes later.   Now if the 1:59pm above is ET, then it's 87 minutes later.  I'm pretty sure it's MT though.
You can do whatever math you need to to make yourself feel right.  You know the truth.

So, in your world, you posted Thornton is dead, then texted me to complain about the Thornton trade.

Is this what you want to go with?

No that's your world.

I've clearly shown you that the dead post came wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy after the texts. At least 87 minutes later.  The time stamps are on your phone for the texts.

Just go to bed.  Geez.

Ok this is just too complex.  Even if Thornton was hurt, it was a bad trade but you manned up and tried to support me but didn't veto the trade.  I guess that's it.

this is why we have a league vote on trades. I don't want to decide what should and shouldn't be allowed unless it's clearly collusive or ridiculously lopsided, which is pretty rare.

at the time, I don't think it was known that Thornton would be out long-term. if he was a non-factor and removed from the picture, the trade for the other two guys would have been a non-issue I'm sure.

when you look at a last place team making a deal with the 1st place team (or something similar this late in the season), it's going to get some extra scrutiny. nothing personal.

I have a tweet from 1/24/18 to a friend asking about the trade.  In that tweet I indicate that thornton is out about 6-8 weeks.

Cav, dino, if you'll indulge me. According to your story Thornton passes you and starts walking up the ramp then you say you were struck on the right temple. The spit then proceeds to ricochet off the temple striking Cav between the third and forth rib. The spit then came off the rib turned and hit Cav in the right wrist causing him to drop his baseball cap. The spit then splashed off the wrist, Pauses In mid air mind you- makes a left turn and lands on Cav's left thigh. That is one magic loogie.

I get it and you are right, but if my team sucks and I blow it up, I guess I shouldn't try to get players off the best team.  And of course I wouldn't offer trades to 8 other teams which half accepted.

But I get it.

Nylander is a top 100 player now and before the season. Lindholm is waiver wire fodder now and before the season. It was a bad trade regardless of what bonus points Thornton does/doesn't add by the end of the season.
