Finless - RIP (1 Viewer)

Always loved this from his profile:

A true man of the people. Finless was raised by Spanish nomadic camel breeders in the north Saharan military post of Tan-Tan Morocco. He maintains citizenship with Morocco, Spain, England, and the United states. Although his educational background is unknown his intellect is unquestioned. A student of the arts - fine, culinary and martial, it is also said that he has studied under some of the most revered modern philosophers. Rumors of relationships, both deeply emotional and physical with woman of foreign royalty have been confirmed.

Wow, RIP Finless. If it wasn't broke by Eephus I'm not sure I'd believe it. Dude was just talking about Phish shows about a month ago. "Push and shove", GB. Damn.

Man somebody should send that to his Facebook friends. Bet they'd get a kick out of that.

Maze is a Phish song that I felt is somewhat appropriate to the sad situation. He was a Phish fan and I think his friends asked people to enjoy some of their music as a bit of a remembrance. I don't post here a lot but have read these boards for a long time and he was always my favorite poster. I guess we just has a similar sense of humor. I am also a fan of Phish.

My devotion to the Dead Baseball Players thread must give me credibility on such matters

Sound like his friends are already on top of making sure Coco is taken care of
Good to know. Sometimes people forget the beloved pets that are left behind. This dog is suffering too at the loss of his owner, especially since it sounds like he was much loved.
So that dog had driven two owners to overdose in the last year? Send him to St Louis Bob and see which one survives.

I just went back and read page 1 of this thread. Very sad.

I know most of you all completely dismiss 95% of what I say as shtick but most of what I say about myself and my stories were legit. I don't know what kind of mad man would take that kind of time to make up stories and follow up.

Texted with him on a decent amount of occasions. Can't remember why exactly though, and since I have switched phones a few times, those texts are long gone. Wish I had them still. :kicksrock:

Good luck mr fin wherever you are my ifriend

i spoke with Finless offline some, he was definitely not all shtick. He had traveled and lived life, he was interesting and appreciative of the life he lived. i don't think a lot of people here got him at all, but that was sort of the beauty of it.

did you ever meet up? I'd love to hear more about him if you'd care to share.

Always liked Fin, I messed with him a ton, but I always liked him. My favorite story was the one where he was sure someone stole his laptop for his BBQ sauce recipe. :lmao:

Gonna miss you bro, RIP.

you guys think everybody's a schtick alias.

as if its impossible for people to stumble upon this place and start posting.
Well to be fair, he had a high schtick percentage and a number of different aliases (Finless/Clifton/Jambi and probably others)
Rohn Jambo.
JFC. :(

I'm only now finding out that we didn't just lose Fin- but ALL of those aliai too.

Always enjoyed the honesty and the crazy he brought. ####. RIP

Well then someone has the keys to Rohn, because he posted after the FB note was posted about his passing.

He wasn't rohn jambo.

What were his confirmed aliases? Clifton is the only one I know of.

Wasn't his old profile picture a cartoon fish skeleton in black & white?

with finless gone it seems like we will lose at least 40% of the posters here via aliai. i wonder if he had threads where he just posted to himself.

I didn't have a lot of interaction with Finless, but I've had three friends die of drug related causes in the last several years. One from years of cocaine and alcohol abuse, and another from a heroin overdose. This past September I lost another from what we believe was an accidental overdose of at least opiates and alcohol. The toxicology report hasn't come back yet. He went to culinary school years ago, and he owned a very successful restaurant on Sullivan's Island. He was 47, and living his dream...but he loved drugs. It's sad. All of their lights, including Fins, went out too soon.

I have another very close friend who is addicted to painkillers. It all started several years ago when he broke his ankle. He also takes muscle relaxants and benzos. We had an intervention for him last year, and he finally went to a hospital for PTSD that also treated his addiction. I just saw him recently, and I noticed he had that look again, and his wife told me he was back on painkillers. She had just found out four days prior. It knocked the wind out of my sails to hear it. He is such a good soul, but he is swallowed in the depths of addiction. He is going to lose his family, and ultimately his life. I dread the day I get the call. I still try to have some hope that he won't meet the same fate as Fin and my three late friends.

Addiction can leave a lot of destruction in its path. :(

I guess Fin doesn't have to chase that dragon anymore. He is released from the shackles of addiction. Fly free, Fin.

Preliminary info about the memorial service

Rona has confirmed the day: Monday, November 17, 2014 for the service in Denver, Colorado. Late afternoon/early evening. Location to be determined in Downtown Denver at a place worthy of our buddy.

A service in Massachusetts is tentative for the following weekend. As you know so many moving pieces and good friends from near and far are so sad and wanting to participate in this process. We will update specific details as soon as we confirm. We hope you all can come and share.... There will be plenty of time and space for everyone who needs and wants to share and honor Chris. We are all heartbroken and also so blessed to have known such an amazing man.

Love,
The Many Friends & Family of Chris Holmes

Any chance you can keep us posted on the MA service??? tia.

I remember one of my very early days in the FFA when I interacted with Clifton about his sexual exploits with a carmel-colored girl.

I believed all of it.

RIP Fin

Maybe not posting to himself, but there clearly was a spot earlier in this thread where he switched from Finless to Escape Goat mid-stream.

RIP.

I just finished a 9-week session with the local grand jury in northern Kentucky, just outside Cincinnati. We reviewed about 250 felony cases to see if they were worth taking to trial. 90% of them - no lie - involved heroin possession or some kind of theft to buy heroin. Every single one of them was passed on to trial.

I believe DMT opens up a world of energy and entities which really exist. Do some reasearch on what it is. its naturally occuring in something like 60% of all living things on earth. There is a difference between hallucinations and seeing something. a hallucination is like "wow, that's cool. I was seeing patterns and stuff" knowing full well your eyes are playing tricks on you. Then there's "whoa, that #### is really there". its vivid. There is a difference. I'm an expert on this material. You aren't. When you start batching up psychedelics in your basement and spend years taking them with intellectuals, we can talk. That would be like me talking to you about not knowing how to get laid.

I can't remember a time when I directly interacted with Finless. Having been here over ten years, though, there are certain names that I recognize as what I refer to in my head as "the originals". He was one of us. RIP.

This is scary. I wouldn't even know the first place to get heroin. It sounds like with the restrictions on pills like Oxy's the demand is being met with Heroin.Didn't the US stop a lot of the poppy production in Afghanistan? We should have our drones drop roundup bombs on the poppy fields instead of killing kids in Pakistan.
