***Friday Night Football on the Peacock Network - Packers at Eagles*** (-2, 49.5) Live from Brazil at 8:15 (1 Viewer)

I have the NFL+ subscription, it looks like this game will be available there? But I'm new to it so I don't know for sure if that is what's being indicated.

Which packer WR has the best chance to go over 50 receiving yards tonight? I feel confident that at least two will. Guessing which two is the head scratching part.
I’ve put Doubs in my lineup in case it’s him. Eagles D is a work in progress and no Rodgers or White means the Packers may light it up.

I admittedly have not seen much of the Eagles in preseason.

My biggest question is, was that secondary fixed? I know Fangio is there, but you still have to have the players to make plays.
Nor has anyone because they don’t play their starters much, if at all.

They used their first two picks on CBs. Whether that improves things this year, we don’t know yet.

Losing White doesn’t seem like a big deal. None of PHL’s LBs can cover. The run D should still be good. If it’s not, there are biiiiiig issues in Philly.

Dean is better against the run than White, anyway. Hoping Baun and Dean can at least be middling in coverage. Expect to see a lot of nickel/big nickel to help shore up the middle of the field. I gotta think they trot Avonte Maddox out for a decent amount of snaps this game, too.

As long as Ringo/Q can hold up on the outside and don’t get burned, the middle of the field is where Love is gonna make hay. I worry the pass rush is going to be lackluster and the Love/Jacobs dual-threat will draw in the 2nd level guys and leave glaring holes over the middle.

To win, Philly has to establish an early big lead, then lean on a heavy dose of the run game to salt the game away. If the Offense is shaking off rust early, I see this going GB’s way.

White supposedly lost the starting job to Nakobe Dean. Rodgers being out doesn’t hurt too bad either. We have our rookie 1st round pick Mitchell or 2nd year Ringo to fill in. Both had strong camps. Maddox is still a great nickel too when healthy

Couple movies on Peacock to watch on the ramp up to the game
"Fight Night" with a slew of actors and comedians, probably not that good but it's on the subscription
The Fall Guy, how do they manage to not make good movies based on 80s TV shows?

I am curious to see if GB spreads them out and starts targeting intermediate and longer routes - how Philly deals with it.

Should be a beauty game.
Preseaon means nada

Is anyone concerned that this game is going to be a complete disaster from a fantasy perspective? There are so many things pointing to this being an ugly, penalty-laden, turnover fest.

I guess what I was getting at was at the end of the year - they were getting torched. What changes were made to address this? I know they grabbed a CB in the first. What else?

Are Eagle's fans worried about the D?

I’m not trolling - genuine question.

I’m not trilling - genuine question.
Secondary is the most improved unit on the D this year, and the strength of the Defense:

Let K Byard walk
Demoted Bradberry, who fell off a cliff.
Drafted Q and DeJawn
Signed CJGJ
Got Avonte maddox back healthy (for now)
Signed Isaiah Rodgers last year on suspension and he has been playing lights out in camp.
Slay looks healthy again and primed to be even better than last year.
Returned Reed Blanskenship and Kelee Ringo, two young players with more experience.
Sydney Brown will be back in a few weeks, but not needed to start.

LBs are weak, like 20-32nd ranked in the league, probably. They should be ok against the run, but will struggle in coverage. that won't change until next year's draft (hopefully)

the Dline could be anywhere from middling to great. Depends on a lot of factors. Missing Fletch hurts. Jordan Davis' conditioning will be a factor. Who can step up at EDGE and get pressure? A lot of question marks. I'd love to see a ton of pressure on love tonite, and if the Eagles pull an early lead, that will definitely happen.

I forgot to cancel my subscription from last year so I guess this is a happy accident.
Happy accident?
You've. Ended up paying significantly more than. You otherwise would have.

It’s pretty much de minimus isn’t it? think we got discount (military, senior, don’t remember) & have been paying $2.99 /month since the 2023 Tour de France. A lot of people who haven’t cut the cord get it for free just bc they have Spectrum or Verizon.

The year before - or two years before? - I paid $5 for a whole year. Another year I did a few trial to watch a pro cycling grand tour & cancelled before it booked.

I watch the TdF & the Vuelta on there, the Giro in the spring is on other channels. Even if I didn’t need it for football it’s been worth it for tons of premier league games, golf, Olympics & some movies.

Anyway, think we have paid ~ $41 for 27 months, and there seems to to be a LOT of ways to get it at a discount or free. Never quite understood why so there’s so much vitriol toward Peacock - it’s a cheap streaming service, what’s the issue?

No vitriol.
I was just confused on how paying for something you didn't want was a happy accident.
I assume, of course, that had he canceled, Peacock would have gladly welcomed him back in time to watch this game.

I don't subscribe to Peacock, but not because I have anything against it or NBC. I simply have enough streaming services, and to be frank, they don't offer all that much (outside, if memory services, EPL).

I'll say Philly comes out with a chip on their shoulder after how last season ended. I think the new more pass heavy offense takes flight, and looks great against a suspect Packers back end. I think Barkley has a decent Eagles debut, and AJ Brown has a huge game, like WR1 of the week huge.

Eagles 31
Packers 17

I also think the tush push is alive and well and should have never been questioned. I'm really just repeating what Jason Kelce said there.

Packers inactives:

WR Malik Heath
RB MarShawn Lloyd
DL Arron Mosby
DL Brenton Cox Jr.
T Kadeem Telfort
T Travis Glover

RB Emanuel Wilson is available.

Eagles inactives

OLB Jalyx Hunt
G Trevor Keegan
T Darian Kinnard
QB Tanner McKee (3rd QB)
CB Isaiah Rodgers
LB Devin White
DT Byron Young

Hunt a little of a surprise. Rookie WR Johnny Wilson will be active for his first NFL.

I am eager to see what the Packers target order and distribution looks like in this game and at what stages certain receivers and RBs are used.
Josh Jacobs has been a polarizing player in Redraft leagues, many think he could produce RB1 numbers, others don't see a lot of upside

I expect Philly to come out focused and ready to unveil their new weapons and beefed up defense/secondary, lot to watch on both sides with them.
Want to see the new rookies in the Secondary, Dejean was injured, not sure he even suits up tonight but Mitchell will be exciting to watch.

I think Philly wins a close hard fought game tonight.

Philly 27...Green Bay 24

F the streaming services. The more people pay just for a few games the more they will hone in an make it wide spread.
I’ll repeat for the guys in the back. F the streaming services.
*stepping off soap box*
