On a load screen, there was a description of a "Wood Elf" Area/Town/Region.
Where is it? I fell I need to go back to the motherland.

Should be no problem.?Is this game still readily available in stores? I want to go buy it, but am afraid because of the time of year I won't find it anywhere.

Been playing in first mostly as of late, because a spell in each hand just looks freaking bad ###. Sometimes I need to zoom out so I'll go to 3rd for a short period.Do you guys play in 1st or 3rd person? I play in 1st.
Doesn't matter... just favorite all your spells and switch to them quickly and easily.I set up my atronarch and my fire spells as my two quick switch spells and mainly switch between them. If I need a quick heal or anything else I go to my favorites. Is it worth having one attack spell and health in the other? Or should I go with 2 attack spells and just switch to my healing spell as needed?Been playing in first mostly as of late, because a spell in each hand just looks freaking bad ###. Btw, does this mean that you're on Skyrim disk #2? Or was there ambulatory services performed on your game?
Disk 2I cannot complete their quests. I went out on the witch killing one, came back and the leader of the companions was dead. don't know where to go from here. I have no quest options for themWas trying to complete the Companions quest
with the Ax and all the Companions ghosts and found out something the hard way: no autosaves in that cave. Died at what appeared to be the end. ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE BEGINNING DUMMY~!@~!

Huge fan of FPS genre, but for some reason I always play 3rd person except for like bow sniping on occasion, only because your character can get in the way of the aimer.First person except when I'm sneaking around dungeons, then I go to 3rd and zoom out to see what's around corners.Do you guys play in 1st or 3rd person? I use flame and healing a lot. I like the spells where you can just hold the button, having trouble with the lightning and fireball mechanics. I keep clicking the thumbstick for some reason and get stuck moving in and out of sneak if I get excited.'Matthias said:This one.Although I've started toying with flame spell in one hand and a ward in the other when fighting mages. Sort of depends on your situation, though generally you are better off dual casting. As soon as possible I would get the perk where dual-casting a spell overcharges the effect into a more powerful version, and use two hands from them on. Then again as soon as possible, get the next perk in that tree where dual-casting a spell often causes opponents to stagger and fall down.I went back to a lower level area and was one-shotting people with dual cast lightning bolt, but if I hit them with two individual lightning bolts they were surviving. So it does make a difference if you have the perk. Can always switch one hand to healing when you need it then. Most of the time that I'm not using my attack spell in both hands it's because I'm starting out the fight with soul trap, then switch over the spell to my attack one. And speaking of which, boy do I wish you could soul trap someone at a distance instead of having to touch them.I haven't done much with the magic shield spells. When I tried it they drained my magicka so fast I didn't think it was worth using. Is it worth having one attack spell and health in the other? Or should I go with 2 attack spells and just switch to my healing spell as needed?Been playing in first mostly as of late, because a spell in each hand just looks freaking bad ###. Right, you need a free hand to cast. It doesn't take much time to switch between weapons and spells though. You could easily use spells at longer range then pull out the weapon when someone closes the gap.can you play a 2-handed melee smasher who also uses destruction or restoration? I'm guessing you need a free hand for any magic, so I would have to put my 2-hander away to cast.
I ran into the same thing with the "visit azura's shrine" quest. I couldn't do anything once I got up there again and talked to the religious lady, and she was pissed that I let nelocar (is that his name?) handle the artifact. wouldn't say anything else to me. Quest is stuck as open. So, of course, I just killed her.Pretty disappointing bug. I got a quest from the companion line to kill some hag. I go to kill her and it seems I had discovered the location before and cleared it out and killed the boss. Now the quest won't update.

That's where having a companion, dog and horse come in handy.'dnurk said:Played last night for a while and was enjoying everything. Running up past some bandit camp (fairly low level quest I still had on my to do list) and running around the side of a hill saw a nice looking elk. Decided to sprint at it and double blast it with fireballs streaming from both hands. Roasted him in fairly short order.
Stop to get my bearings and drink some real-life wine and something starts drilling the crap out of me. Spin around to see multiple elk attacking me including some etheral green one! Scared the crap out of me and almost took me out. I'm playing pure mage and have absolutely zero buffs on health as it is all dumped into magic. I'm lethal at a distance but shatter like glass as soon as anyone or anything gets in melee range.
Too funny.
I had the exact same thing happen. It was funny as hell. F that! Ask them to buff it out for you. They have those things right in the back.'JerseyToughGuys said:'Matthias said:Look at it as opportunity. You're an advance scout. (on the upside, the gamestop by my house said they will take the scratched on in as a tradein. They can buff the scratch out).
I'm pretty disappointed the latest patch didn't fix all these quest bugs.Yeah, I had done that already. It just didn't mark the quest as complete.

I don't know if this really fixes it or not, but I googled it and found a couple of people saying sometimes a fix for this is to check to see if you have any bounties, and if you do, go and pay them off and then they work properly. You go into your General Stats and down to the Crime menu to see.Ok there is a glitch that is really pissing me off....
When I entered the Companions bulding, Farkas keeps drawing his sword and saying the same line repeatedly. I get two steps away and it happens again. He is following me all the way out of town and I can't fast travel or anything because of him following me. I am going to have to lead him out somewhere remote and kill him I think. I hope that doesnt ruin my companion quests.
It shouldn't but there are inevitably bugs in Bethesda games like this. I wouldn't let it stop me from dungeon diving, though. If you're really nervous, you can check out the elder scrolls wiki before entering one to see if anyone's reported any bugs related to that area.I have been unable to complete the very first Companions quest because I killed the mage earlier in the game. The dungeon re spawned with spiders, but the mage did not. He's just lying on the floor dead with a white arrow hovering over him. Since the deed was done much earlier in the game I'm not going to go all the way back to a much earlier save. Unless there is a fix some is aware of, I guess it will give me something to look forward to during the second play through.Supposing I happen upon a cave/mine/dungeon. Should I go in and clear it, or will that mess up some other quest that will come later?

I had Lydia with me but she got all burnt up in some dungeon with fire coming up from floor vents. In the natural course of game flow I haven't come across a way to pick up another companion. I don't mind spoilers....will I naturally be assigned another companion like I was with Lydia or do I need to go somewhere and purchase/hire a new friend? That's where having a companion, dog and horse come in handy.'dnurk said:Played last night for a while and was enjoying everything.
