Have 2 nights at Many Glacier hotel, definitely looking forward to that.

Made our connecting flight and at least getting into Kalispell tonight. In the end, didn’t lose a ton off our itinerary, just made our day a whole lot longer and more stressful. Oh, and cost us an extra $400 for a hotel for tonight.

But hey, I’m on vacation and looking forward to what Glacier has to offer.
Highly recommend a photo by this hydrant in Many Glacier.
Looks like an American Darling B-84. Still has the custodian chains. Impressive.

I miss the company here.
Anyone want to do a Best Ball season long draft?
Do a slow draft for a week or two of fun schtick and the not have to deal with it all season. WE could use an 8 hour timer so it rally should not interfere with your life too much for the next week or so.
We can do about any amount we want for entry fee. I think 35 or 50 would be reasonable. The site collects the money and pays the winners.
I've been pretty happy with Underdog. I think most of us could use them. lmk

@General Malaise @GroveDiesel @St. Louis Bob @krista4 @facook @BeTheMatch @Pip's Invitation @hawk64 @Joe Bryant @Gatorman @Uruk-Hai @urbanhack @shuke @nirad3 @kevzilla @belljr @mr. furley @DA RAIDERS @-fish- @El Floppo @Sammy3469 @bostonfred @Osaurus
thats everyone who posted in this and the last page and a few extras.

Thanks for the invite @cosjobs. Much appreciated. I have to pass as I'm buried in August with this stuff but I'll donate a $100 Footballguys Merchandise gift card to the winner to use in our merchandise store for swag. https://shop.footballguys.com/. Just let me know when the season over who the winner is and I'll get it to them.

Y'all have a great time.
This is so cool that it made me go buy a T shirt. (y)

Maybe if we had to pick the B side of a 90s ska single with each pick @krista4 and some of her dummy crew could provide technical support

:lmao:

:goodposting:
Step on up. For old times sake

I'd be in but it looked like you were full

I'm looking for a co-conspirator. Or a co-owner. Or what have you.
I'd totally be down for this but I am going to be traveling and won't be home until after labor day. And I haven't played in at least 10 years lol

Yeah, creating something easy for everyone else has become to difficult for me.
I may try next year but no way I have the time to run the league in this thread. Maybe next year we can try again if I can figure a way that is not so demanding

So... Old people, amirite? Just enjoy and appreciate them while they're here.

Yup. Hang in there GB. Hope your mom gets more back to her normal self soon but the reality is the "new normal" shifts in those older years. I lost my mom a few years back and I can see definite changes in my 81 year old dad. You're 100% right though in old folks are a treasure. Appreciate them while we have them.
Thanks gb.

Fortunately my mom has been really proactive about getting ready for all of this aging junk. Had grab bars installed in her shower and anti-slip treads on the stairs... Not long after my dad died when she was still a looong ways away from this. She also cofounded an aging at home community with support (based on something started in Cambridge MA). She's had an amazing attitude about all of it... But it's her physicality I worry about, and any potential ties these changes might bring to her mental/emotional state.

just got off the phone with her. she was diagnosed with ALS on monday.
this really, really sucks. :(

Rate my best ball rooster. i picked 8/12, full PPR, so piled on WRs

hate my RBs

went CeeDee, Andrews, Tee, Deebo to start .

Why is it hard? Instead of going to the dark web, just use yahoo or whatever. We set up a draft thread. Someone inputs the teams. Someone collects the money. Miss you cos.

Glacier was unbelievably gorgeous.

But what I want to discuss is the best meal I had there. We were recommended a little place outside of the park between St Mary and Many Glacier called Two Sisters. Their signature dish is Trout and Waffles. Yeah. Not chicken and waffles. Trout and waffles. Fried trout on waffles with marionberry butter and marionberry syrup. And it was absolutely fantastic. My 14 year old daughter was disgusted until I loved it and so she had a bite. And she liked it so much that when we went back the next night, that’s what she ordered.

So there you have it. No other recommendations from me for Glacier except eat the trout and waffles at Two Sisters if you get a chance.

Sometimes a meal (or two) together can mean the most.

Chicken and waffles at Yardbird in the Venetian is all my now 19 year old son remembers (or cares about) from our Vegas/Grand Canyon trip 6 years ago.

We all loved GC, but it just didn't seem real. I don't think any of the three of us processed it well.

Had the exact same response. Cross country trip with a buddy post college. Wed spent a month in the SW seeing other parks, so might have been fried by that point... But I just remember getting up to the edge and both us looking at each other- ok- and turning around.

The brain can’t process that the other side is like 10 miles away

Two sisters is great - I thought I mentioned it upthread. Did you get any of their huckleberry offerings (woulda thought they’d use them instead of marionberries for the T & W)?

So…I don’t really care for huckleberry. I did have an ice tea there, but by that point had pretty much had my fill.

Honestly wish that the use of thimbleberry was more of a thing because I had some of those while hiking and loved them.

Thimbleberries are good, but disliking huckleberries is anathema in that area. Aside from trout, they‘re pretty much all we eat in Glacier. Oh well, to each their own. Glad you had a good trip.

What was your favorite hike?

Yeah, I definitely wasn’t going to say that I didn’t like huckleberries out loud while we were there, lol. Insane to me that they can go over $200 a gallon in the off-season.

I didn’t get to do a ton of the hikes I would have loved to do since I was with my family and they are more limited, but I did Grinnell Glacier by myself and it was incredible. Top 5 trail for me right up there easily with some of my favorites at Zion, Bryce and Yellowstone.

so i know i've talked about my wife's inability to answer a question, not tell a story etc etc etc

This will sum it up perfectly. So recyclables were supposed to go out last night. She says she has a bunch of boxes to sort through so leave the bin in the garage an grab it in the morning. I say sure (I leave through the garage anyway).

This morning the post-it note reminder on the door read:

a) Recycle Bin

or

b) belljr,
Don't forget to please take the recycling bin out to the curb.

Thanks.

I actually got a permit to pick huckleberries a couple years ago. Doesn't cost anything, but you need to have one if you want to pick them in Oregon and you are limited to 3 gallons per year for personal consumption, otherwise you need to buy a permit. No rakes or any brush disturbing devices. I like Huckleberries fine, but that's a lot of work to get a couple gallons.

I like the brevity of note ”a”, which serves its purpose as a reminder. No need to spell it out so explicitly, imo.

My question is, why couldn’t she take the bin out herself, after she’d sorted the boxes?

Our group probably picked a gallon, between the five of us over an entire day. AFAIK, no permit needed in MT.

Depends on if you’re inside the park or not. Inside Glacier you’re limited to a quart per person.

The one you tried was Green Cheek's Lavender Lemonade seltzer. One of my favorites. Haven't had it out of a can yet, only off draft at their brewery in Costa Mesa.

Happy to meet you at brewery row anytime!
