GM's thread about nothing (26 Viewers)

Tigerfan > hiMason's is my new favorite place to eat in the world. Went there twice for brunch. Nothing in the world beats bottomless mimosas. Nothing. Well nothing except their potatoes. And crab cake benedict. I'd go back to Baton Rouge just to eat their potatoes.
Hmm...never been there (or heard of it)...probably b/c I was rarely in that part of BR when I was in school...and since I only go back for LSU games and such, it's way out of my way. Mrs. TF has meetings around there occasionally, so I'll suggest it to her :thumbup;

shut it down, or whoever you might be these days, are you going to this? Looks amazing. If you are going, and you have not seen them before (or even if you have), do not, under any circumstances, even think about missing Monotonix.

I see that you've put tweezers to good use.
Only gays and women trim their eyebrows.
I trim my eyebrows and you can't even SEE my eyebrows.
Why?

Hey Bob, you been to Pappy's?
I haven't but my cousin told me that it's pretty awesome.
Get the full slab of ribs. Don't bother with the variety of sauces. They only screw up a wonderful thing. Fan#######tastic. I gained at least 5 pounds in the last week.Pizza at Talayna'sPasta at Zia'sRibs at Pappy'sCannoli from Missouri Baking CompanyWings from HorseshoeBeerWineAnd that doesn't even get to the trip up nort. I lost the remote control last night and briefly panicked at the prospect of having to dig into a fat fold in an attempt to locate it.
I'd like to recap all the wonderful food I ate in New Orleans/Baton Rouge....:goodposting:What's with all the heavy cream down there? Do they not have olive oil?
Yeah, with the heavy Italian/Greek influence in the culture down there, you'd think it'd be flowing through the streets like urine during Mardi Gras.

When everything was healed, the nail was fine and was it's normal size and shape, but my thumb was larger... probably 20% wider than it was previously, but just the fleshy part. Once it was finally healed, I was starting to think I'd have to have a plastic surgeon give it a look because it looked very odd. Then, and I fully expect shuke to call bull#### here, I took a nail file to it and sanded my finger back to it's normal shape. Well, it started with a nail file and then I actually grabbed sandpapper from the basement to speed up the process.
your wife is pissed
I'm not married and I don't think women at the bar would be thinking about girth if they saw such a misshapen, paddle thumb. I have been described as the male equivalent of Megan Fox, but I'm not sure how she even pulls it off.

I have to trim my eyebrows. If I didn't, they might look like this eventually.
And me...
I saw a guy at the Penn State/Bama game who would make this guy's eyebrows look shaved. I'm dead serious when I say that it looked like 2 mogwai's taped to that old dude's forehead. I stared, he noticed, and I didn't care. Since then, I've been self conscious myself. I don't think I can sand off eyebrows.

I did not. The thumb split down the middle of the nail, which eventually fell off. You did what now? Not only am I asking because I'm pretty sure you're misunderstood, but I also have an extra-wide finger from a previous injury.

Thanks guys.I could use a massage.
Sorry SLB. I hope for happier days for you and Mrs. SLB. I suck at giving massages, but I can send you freeze pops if that helps. (freeze pops can fix anything in my deranged world)

Well, I didn't log the sequence of events or even with pictures because I didn't know it would be such a strange thing. I remember being scared leaving the doctor's office that day upset that he said he didn't think it would be best to try sewing it up considering the bleeding had already slowed and the nail was split where he would need to stitch. I forget the complete reasoning, but leaving the doc-in-the-box (happened on a Saturday and I didn't want to go to the actual ER) I was starting to think about scheduling a visit a plastic surgeon then because I didn't think things would grow back correctly at that point.I bandaged it all the time and actually did so thinking I needed to keep it growing correctly. I tried to keep it completely together as it looked previously, but it didn't work exactly like I wanted. While I remember the nail still having a gap in it when the thumb healed, prior to the nail falling off, I'd guess the gap was more from the nail splitting than the nail portion being wider. It still seemed like the finger split, the wound healed while filling in the gap, and my thumb was left larger. At one point it looked just like any other, normal part of any finger but wider on the right (inside) side of the right thumb. At that point, it really looked like the thumb was going to stay that way for a while without surgical action. I mean, besides the nail growing back completely, everything looked strange but normal. Put it this way: it looked like I was born with a wider thumb, but just knocked a nail off.I thought the skin on that side looked like a callus one day and asked someone for a nail file at work because I wasn't making much headway picking at it. That seemed to work, so I grabbed some sand paper in the garage on the way through when I got home and sanded the rest of it off that night. The nail grew back later and it looks completely normal, nail and all.I slammed a finger in a door when I was in high school. I lost that fingernail (index on the same hand) and while it looks basically the same, you can tell it's different than the rest if you look closely. It grew back thicker and with a strange shape. There's no such issue with the thumb and I thought the injury was way worse. You couldn't see bone when the thumb injury happened, but even the doctor was kind of surprised and he poked around in there far more than I wanted. After thinking about it again here, I think I might have an explanation for what happened, but want to hear your take.

I'd definitely like to hear the story of how this happened, and I'm pretty sure I'd like to see a picture of your fat finger.

Not really much of a story. Just cut my finger pretty good and when it healed it stayed in a weird shape. I'm pretty sure Otis stalked my facebook and posted the picture here. I'll look for it.

So was it a callous?

The "ghosts" taking a night off?I'm thinking about placing a call to one of my NYY GB's, explaining the current situation the way a parent would explain a divorce to a child.

What's this ghost thing all about? I saw some goober in the crowd with a "I believe in ghosts" sign. Is this some sort of goofy Yankee history crap?

In the end, I'd say that's a pretty good description. Until the point I sanded it off, it certainly didn't seem like it was one. I wish I had some pictures and I'm not sure why I don't. I could take a picture now, but you'd probably think I made the whole story up as there's nothing abnormal about it at all.
