Talked to a girl I know for the first time in a while tonight. She's got cancer. Terminal. They stopped chemo a month ago. Docs tell her she's got three months left. This chick is 27, a single digit handicap, well on her way to $cupperville, hot, smart, and wicked cool. Had the world by the tail.

We were never close, but talking to someone who knows they're dead for an hour makes it tough to sleep.

I will not make a joke about proninja working a sympathy lay from his hot, young, terminally ill cancer patient friend. There will be no lines like "out with a bang," "no use worrying about your reputation now," "God is f!@#ing you, why not me too?" or references to Cloe in Fight Club. This would be low. Too low. Even for scum like me. But ### #### it, there's this little sick ******* in a red suit on my shoulder whispering stuff...

Proninja> That really is a sad story. It's big of you to call and (I suspect) make some peace with the girl. I'm sure she's doing this with everyone she knows. Speaking as a guy who had someone suddenly taken from him, knowing you're going to die is actually a small blessing. It gives you time to settle accounts, which is no small matter for the heart & soul when you lay down on your last pillow.

 
My company was sold this month and the new name and ownership kicks in today. We handed out white polo shirts with the new name and logo, and everyone was told to wear it with jeans today.

The place just looks creepy. Bunch of drones. Makes me think of an Office Space situation that just didn't make the final cut of the movie. I have already heard five "nice shirt!" and two "this is awkward, we picked the same outfit".

I get to spend a good chunk of the morning rebranding all of my stuff (voicemail, email signature, business cards, etc.) Good use of my time.

 
this just in.....

recovery process slows as you age. I suppose 9 hours of sleep (total) for a 3.5 day Vegas romp would have been enough when I was 23 or so, but at 40, well, this is an issue when you are expected to work the Monday you return.

I have to go to Luxembourg for a 1/2-hour meeting on September 15, so Mr. krista is going to join me and we'll hit Brussels and Bruges while we're over that way, too. He intends to see how much beer he can drink while I'm in my meeting. Then on September 21, we're going to the Nicaragua house and then to Panama. So I should have some travel notes again soon. :)

:lmao: Actually my name was really unusual when I was a kid, and I hated it for that reason. Now you see a few more Kristas here and there. I always hated that I could never get a little fake license plate or keychain or whatever with my name on it. :(

At least Gump was a good guy. Try getting a "Damon" keychain and have "The Omen" and "Omen II" come out when you're in junior high.

How far are we talking here? Under 180 or over 180? That's an important distinction. Also, big boobs? You can forgive a few extra lbs for big boobs. If yes to both of these, I see no issue. 1 out of 2, maybe. 0 for 2 and, yes, you need to quit drinking
