Good chance to win next 2 weeks vs Bears and Jets. Payton has fixed the offense and Russell Wilson.

That last sentence may be the understatement of the year
whats the contract situation if they want to fire him?Got to be a rough for this team right now. How do they even hold any respect for the HC at this point? Total mess.

No idea but it's Wal mart money right?
Sunk money at this point.whats the contract situation if they want to fire him?Got to be a rough for this team right now. How do they even hold any respect for the HC at this point? Total mess.

It's not just the money. Denver gave up a 2023 first round pick and a 2nd & 3rd in 2024 to pay this coach all that Walmart money.
But, worry not. These are just growing pains.
Wouldn't that have had to be a trade too?Crazy he didn’t just wait for the Chargers job that should be open any day now.
Best insight of any post in this thread today. The defense was supposed to be the strength of this team. The offense is without a doubt better. With the draft picks they’ve given up the past 2 years, I didn’t think they’d be much better than they are. Should have won last week without a doubt.Sunk money at this point.whats the contract situation if they want to fire him?Got to be a rough for this team right now. Payton needs to fire VJ ASAP. The offense is looking much better than last year but the D is much much worse, and it's not just today - Miami game magnified the weak spots. This d is terribly managed with awful schemes and no adjustments.
That said, the buck stops at head coach. Payton has to make a move. Firing VJ had to happen. Now.
I thought that might be the case if the Chargers lost today, but he might hang on for a few more weeks.Crazy he didn’t just wait for the Chargers job that should be open any day now.
Yes, he will probably beat what could be the worst team since the 2008 Lions. He will right the ship next week vs Chicago
Hey now... I thought the Bears could win 6-8 games this year before the season startedYes, he will probably beat what could be the worst team since the 2008 Lions. He will right the ship next week vs Chicago
https://sports.yahoo.com/after-70-p...aytons-offseason-trash-talking-032236932.html“Sean Payton’s got a lot of soul searching to do with that football team,” Garrett said on NBC’s "Sunday Night Football" broadcast. “Because they quit. They didn’t compete.”
He's giving Hacket a run for the money at this point....sometimes it's better to shut up and let the results do the talking.
That comparison is taking it a bit too far, but Belichick might be a more appropriate comparison and not for anything good. Not that Bill seems to have been humbled post Brady, but Payton is finding out what life is like in a real division without Drew Brees just like Bill found when TB left town. Easy guy to root against at this point. Being an authoritarian **** only works if you're winning. He's giving Hacket a run for the money at this point....sometimes it's better to shut up and let the results do the talking.
Payton is certainly a better coach but Hackett didn't get 70 dropped on him either. anyway you cut it it's been a tough time to be a Bronco fan. Wilson was supposed to come in and turn the ship around, then it was Payton, now what? He's giving Hacket a run for the money at this point....sometimes it's better to shut up and let the results do the talking.
It's a popular GOTCHA item right now - but people cannot be seriously comparing Payton and Hackett.

Are the Bears good enough to exploit the defense as well as Washington did?Offense looks good, and the Bears are a solid team to 'get right' against. They can't exploit the weaknesses in the defense like Miami can.
Better days ahead.

Pepperidge Farm RemembersHey Sean, remember when you bashed last year’s coaching staff but then started the season 0-3 including giving up 70 points in today’s loss?
A bad look, but hey, what does it matter as long as Denver keeps cuttin' dem checks!Didn't realize Payton went on the Colin Cowherd show last year and said he would have benched Tua for Teddy Two Gloves. Whooops. Dumb dumb.

Remember when Sean Payton said that Tua Tagovailoa would be benched?
Last year, Sean Payton said that the Dolphins would bench Tua Tagovailoa. After Sunday's 70-20 beatdown, Payton probably wishes they had.www.yahoo.com

Agreed. This week vs. Jets will prove whether 2H Bears was a fluke or beginning of turnaround.Broncos did something you want to see from a team that has a chance to turn around... They hit rock bottom - outscored 98-7 over 1.5 games - then came roaring back to score 24 straight and go 1-1 in those two games. They aren't out of the woods, but are showing glimpses of not being a total dumpster fire, especially on offense. And now the Nate Hackett rivarly game is queued up perfectly as a huge fork in their 2023 road.
