How much $$$ did Leinart lose going back to USC? (1 Viewer)

$10MM?

$20MM?

He's get his $25-$30MM, but even when you're that rich, $20MM is a LOT of money.

Bad decision Matt - you should have come out last year and you'd have a mansion in Pacific Heights overlooking the SF Bay.

Enjoy Detroit Matt.

See my posts from last year when I said it was a stupid move.

All it would take is a couple USC losses and everyone would be down on him next year. If he returns to USC, he's going feel the weight of not blowing a $40 million contract every time he throws the ball. That is a lot of pressure on top of the national title that USC expects next year.
Why in the world would anyone in their right mind pass up $40 million to play another year of college football? Education has nothing to do with it, you can always go back to school after football or even during the offseason. The reason you go to college is to get a career and Leinart already has one in football. If he stays in school school, right or wrong, scouts are going to question his will to play football in the NFL.

$10 million, minimum

I was shocked when the Titans passed on him, given Norm Chow, but that's just draft day.
I think Chow has as much influence in the Titans war room as I do. Last year they went D with their 1st pick and now they take a guy that Fisher/Chow thought was 2nd fiddle to Leinart. Hopefully, Chow can work some magic with Young and develop a solid WR corp.

remember he had some sort insurance policy. I dont know if it is based on pick number, money, injury, etc.

He may have lost some money, but I'd rather sit behind Warner for a year then take over a blossoming team like Arizona than be stuck in a wasteland like San Francisco.

SF >>>>>> Phoenix, city wise. And Arizona has been "blossoming" for years.

Give me the extra $20MM and the key to SF anyday.

No way. San fran is full of tree hugging granola eating fruit loops. Give me AZ any day.

Not much, I'm sure boosters were stuffing his pockets after every game.
Unless they were sticking ~ $2MM per game in his pocket, he lost a LOT of money.
I don't think he cares honestly, his second deal will be worth around $100 million, if he plays his cards right. And considering his WR core, he was dealt aces.
