If the subway tunnels flood, you can add a few billion to the tab.Chelsea is flooded. This will double the most costly storm in US history is my prediction. Size, duration, the density of real estate. Good God.
As long as you were the first to post it here.I've seen this in two places hope it's not fake. Can't verify yet.BREAKING: MTA announces NYC subways will be closed for remainder of the week. All major lines are flooded

Why do you think people stayed behind in Atlantic City? But I think this will be a developing problem, right now, issue is still life, limb, and electricity. Then we'll worry about people stealing stuff.Looting?
Seeing tweets/posts that they are flooded all over the place, but haven't seen any official word yet. Hope that doesn't happen. The salt water would be horrible for the system. If the subway tunnels flood, you can add a few billion to the tab.Chelsea is flooded. This will double the most costly storm in US history is my prediction. Still got power - northern ManhattanAnybody else in the city w power off?
Lol...you better hope you have a job after thisThese flooding pictures are crazy. Not to turn this into a TLEF316 financial issue, but my year end bonus is (or was) based on my company's (a large insurance Co) profitability. So yeah, so much for that....
Friends in Brooklyn Heights and Chelsea have tweeted/posted they're down.Good in Midtown and Midtown West so far (we're much higher ground - 65-85 feet above sea level).Anybody else in the city w power off?
Can you grab some pix/video?HFSWatching whitewater pour down the street into the Brooklyn-Battery tunnel. It's like watching a raging river.JesusPouring off the side streets and on ramps like cascading waterfalls.
Wow
Very strong company with a long history of solid financials. We'll be fine. But we insure a lot of property in nyc. I don't know how much flood coverage we have in the affected areas, but it's gonna be rough. And personal lines is going to get absolutely crushedLol...you better hope you have a job after thisThese flooding pictures are crazy. well if you factor in manpower and manhours lost, then yes.I think a week is most optimsitic to have subways to Brooklyn back, most of which would go through downtown. Believe there is a major transportation electric switching "brain" under 1 centre street which would be in the crosshairs of this thingIf the subway tunnels flood, you can add a few billion to the tab.Chelsea is flooded. This will double the most costly storm in US history is my prediction. You'll be fine... But the derivatives market could take a hit bigger than credit default swaps crashed from bad mortgages. These flooding pictures are crazy. OopsBloomberg to NYS and FEMA:"We're good. NYC OEM a lot of practice handling these situations, more than the state and federal agencies. Thanks for the offer."No shutdowns planned for tomorrow for subway. Little bit of rain tomorrow, not much wind, will worsen tomorrow night.
and not just flowing in. Just saw video showing it coming down the walls inside the tunnel.Absolutely disaster movie images going on here. For someone who works in and around NYC, they are as unexpected and visually jarring as 9/11. NOT COMPARING THE INCIDENTS, merely the imagery. To see water FLOWING into the battery tunnel, to see flooding as high as 36th Street, I mean, this is the stuff of movie, the Day After Tomorrow, all that
