If that is the case NFLPA will be all over thisSo they voided them before BA missed the meetings and started sitting out team events, right? I'd be pretty pissed tooSo Kyle is saying they voided his guarantees back in July.

I understand the frustration, I really doGood riddance to bad rubbish, mental illness is a degenerative disease
Apparently so.So they voided them before BA missed the meetings and started sitting out team events, right? I'd be pretty pissed tooSo Kyle is saying they voided his guarantees back in July.
Per the report yesterday he's not fighting it.If that is the case NFLPA will be all over thisSo they voided them before BA missed the meetings and started sitting out team events, right? I'd be pretty pissed tooSo Kyle is saying they voided his guarantees back in July.
Yeah it sounds like this is all retroactive?Per the report yesterday he's not fighting it.If that is the case NFLPA will be all over thisSo they voided them before BA missed the meetings and started sitting out team events, right? Injured or not players have contractual responsibilties. Seems pretty obvious he failed to live up to his and not much to really fight over.
I feel vindicated by this post. They shouldn’t have paid him a cent more, and now that they have it’s a complete waste of time, money, and effort.I’m disappointed there isn’t a “he should stay in SF for $26M a year as it’s his best chance to win a SB” option.
To me that is the correct answer.
Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?I feel vindicated by this post. I believe the 2nd statement is the correct one. He acted like a child, and also got some terrible advice from those around him (including TJ Houshawatsis) then when he finally got everything he wanted he flaked & didn’t show up for team functions. Just loser stuff, with zero self awareness as to how this would make him look to the league.Seems possible to me at least that had this guy got a timely extension maybe he wouldn’t have gone on tilt like this?
Maybe he’s just a psycho I dunno but it just feels stinky
Honestly don’t know the exact timeline, but at the time I thought he would be foolish to go to PIT.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?
If that is true, that's a hard pill to swallow for any NFL fan and you're 100% right to feel like you did then and now
I'm gonna do some reckless speculation with no journalistic credibility whatsoever...Honestly don’t know the exact timeline, but at the time I thought he would be foolish to go to PIT.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?

Niners were healthy and coming off a SB loss with what seemed like a great shot at getting back during his prime.
At the time of the trade rumor, there was some speculation that Pickens might have come back to SF in such a deal.I'm gonna do some reckless speculation with no journalistic credibility whatsoever...Honestly don’t know the exact timeline, but at the time I thought he would be foolish to go to PIT.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?

-I'm assuming or betting that Aiyuk's phone wasn't answered as often as SF/Shanahan/Lynch felt it should have been answered with updates on his rehab
We're talking Mar/Apr/May, etc...by the time July rolled around they knew they had to start taking steps to protect the Niners from Aiyuk just collecting money and never showing up
I'm kind of stunned this has been kept under wraps this long
They clawed back theAiyuk's 2027 and 2028 cap hit was huge- $41.4 and $41.3 million. He was never going to see this money.
Looks like an ugly divorce gone public.
Not a bad take at all, would love to hear what led to this whole debacle.I'm gonna do some reckless speculation with no journalistic credibility whatsoever...Honestly don’t know the exact timeline, but at the time I thought he would be foolish to go to PIT.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?

I haven't seen that. They clawed back the signing bonus though, which was guaranteed money. I think that was $23M? He absolutely would have seen that $.
I have no concrete evidence of any of this but to take the measure they did back in July to basically sever him from any more guaranteed money...did the Niners inform Aiyuk back in July? Not a bad take at all, would love to hear what led to this whole debacle.I'm gonna do some reckless speculation with no journalistic credibility whatsoever...Honestly don’t know the exact timeline, but at the time I thought he would be foolish to go to PIT.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?

My bad. They voided $27M in future guaranteed $.I haven't seen that. They clawed back the signing bonus though, which was guaranteed money. I think that was $23M? He absolutely would have seen that $.
He cut them a check and returned his SB?
Story reported by credible sources was that a trade was almost to the finish line with the Steelers. To the point I think if you asked the Steelers they'd have told you it was a done deal.Pardon me HSG but I'm comfortable asking you this, am I to understand the Niners granted his trade wishes in 2024 before they gave him the extension and Aiyuk suddenly reversed course and agreed to an extension?I feel vindicated by this post. This is very well said, and I fully admit that my posts are tainted with my bitterness as a 49ers fan to first have such turmoil, and later to have this result, with absolutely zero positive payoff for all the turmoil.I don't like seeing players get large guaranteed contracts and then not put forth the effort, seemingly quit and that's what I feel like he did here. But I also don't like seeing players throw major money away and any human being who might dealing with mental issues or depression I hope they can get out of that funk, and I think that might what's at the heart of the matter here but that's just my speculation. It's really all kind of sad for all parties with no winner.
