You know, the guy who ripped so many off of their hard earned cash? It's that time of year when new leagues will be starting up, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up to beware of those dishonest people trying to remove cash from you by starting up bogus leagues with the sole intent of not paying winnings. Are some of these same predators still lurking out there under new names? If you know of any of these guys doing this to people, please let us know who they are so we can avoid their leagues.

Here's hoping this thread doesn't get banished to the Looking for Leagues Forum, because it's more of a public service announcement than anything else.

I guess I'm slow. Didn't put together his username til midway through Year 1. I cashed out and left after Year 1 because to this day I believe Aquil/another league owner were one in the same. He actually did pay out in Year 1.Even through simple league messages, I felt he was a shady character. Just came across like a used cars salesman. A really really odd guy. Feel bad for those that haven't gotten paid.Haven't joined a non-League Safe league since.

The other guy you thought was one in the same as Aquil was Alan Fern. As for paying out in year 1 compared to not paying out in year 2, he was an habitual gambler. He plays poker (Texas holdem' no limit) from what I can research about him and I suspect he lost all our money at the poker table. As a matter of fact, fantasy players seem to be gamblers by nature and therefore susceptible to losing all OUR money to gambling habits.

I actually looked at joining his leagues when he advertised a few years back and thought he was way too toolish as a poster (we all have our moments). the name didn't help, although I pretty sure i have dated some chick named Jezzy Golddigger or Greta O. Nerves at some point earlier in my life.

I like to check in on Looking For Leagues and similar sites offering teams, to see if I find anyone that is forming multiple league. I send PMs out to guys that are showing interest in joining these leagues, just to make them aware of the activities of their future commish, before they pay any money. I get a lot of people thanking me, then backing out. These guys are all over the place, you just have to go on some other fantasy sites sometimes to find them. I tried warning some people about that Bruce guy, some backed away, while others got screwed. If a few of us do this, maybe we can stop this thievery. This gives the online fantasy community a black eye, and frankly it sickens me.

Thx for the warning. I was going to post here about that same member. Seems shady too when I emailed him and received an odd response. Won't use league safe. Stay away!
