Jordan Reed - TE - SF (3 Viewers)

This was a bummer but Vern Davis came back the next week after his concussion.

Plus one extra daya is a good thing. I don't think you will have to wait until Monday to get a feel.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Monday Jordan Reed will need to pass the NFL's protocol concussion testing before being cleared for Week 12.
The Redskins play the 49ers on Monday Night Football, giving Reed one extra day to get through the tests. Washington needs Reed badly with No. 2 wideout Leonard Hankerson sidelined indefinitely by a left LCL tear. Reed went down in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He finished with one catch for 12 yards.

Not only are we in need of Reed to be healthy, we also need RG3 to stop sucking with his accuracy. I'm starting to think I need another TE whether Reed is ok or not.

Does anyone recall the play in the first quarter when RG3 over threw a WIDE open Logan Paulsen by a good 10-15 yards?

Yeah, and the Eagles knew it was coming, so they left Paulsen too wide open, in order to psyche RG3 out and force him to overthrow.

Bad accuracy + Wrong TE

He hasn't been cleared to practice yet.
Rotoworld take:

Jordan Reed (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.

Reed is currently in the NFL's concussion protocol and hasn't been cleared to practice. His Week 12 status remains up in the air. With No. 2 wideout Leonard Hankerson (knee) also sidelined, it's a concern for Washington's offense. The Redskins play the 49ers on Monday Night Football, so Reed will have an extra day to get through tests.

Vern Davis had gotten in a light, limited practice by this time last week (Wed).

A player feeling normal one day after the game might pass cognitive testing Tuesday and begin a light exercise program, intensify their exercise routine Wednesday, participate in non-contact aspects of practice on Thursday and return to full practice Friday. But if a player has a history of concussions or isn't progressing as quickly as planned, the process moves accordingly.

Jordan Reed (concussion) did not participate in Thursday's practice.

It was the Redskins' first official practice of the week ahead of Monday's game against the 49ers. The Redskins haven't really hinted at Reed's status one way or the other, so owners can't take his Week 12 status for granted. Coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday he has "no idea" if Reed will play. There's a real chance he'll sit despite having an extra day to get cleared. Fred Davis is expected to be active if Reed can't go. Reed's status will be updated Friday.

copy/paste from Roto. Does not look good.

Ah, ####.

IMO, with Hankerson done for the season, WAS is going to have a very hard time moving the ball through the air vs. SF this week. All SF has to do is double Garcon and laugh.

I don't give the Skins much chance at all against the 49ers. And I do agree they should have a hard time passing against them. That being said, San Francisco can be run on.

Jordan Reed (concussion) missed Friday's practice and still hasn't been cleared for Week 12.
Although Reed has an extra day because the Redskins host the 49ers on Monday Night Football, beat writer Brian McNally notes Reed is "running out of time." He didn't practice on Thursday, either, and is going to have to take a major step forward in his recovery on Saturday to have any chance of starting against San Francisco. At this point, fantasy owners should be operating as if he won't. Robert Griffin III is at risk of playing Monday night with a severely depleted pass-catching corps. Reed now appears unlikely to play, and No. 2 wideout Leonard Hankerson tore multiple knee ligaments in last week's loss to Philly.

Not looking good ...now to decide on his Flex spot between Shorts/DWalker

Rotoworld:

ESPN Redskins blogger John Keim confirms Jordan Reed's (concussion) missed Friday practice is a "bad sign" for Reed's Week 12 availability.

The Redskins don't play until Monday night, leaving fantasy owners of Reed in a bind. We'll know more about Reed's chances of facing San Francisco by Saturday, but to this point Reed hasn't even been medically cleared to practice. Logan Paulsen and ex-starter Fred Davis are Reed's backups.

Rotoworld:

Jordan Reed (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday night's Week 12 game against the 49ers.
Reed didn't practice all week and is still in the league's concussion protocol. With No. 2 wideout Leonard Hankerson (knee, injured reserve) out for the season, Reed's loss leaves Washington with a depleted pass-catching corps. Ex-starter Fred Davis is expected to be active and used in a committee with Logan Paulsen. Josh Morgan and Aldrick Robinson should also see expanded roles in the passing game.

4 or 5 weeks ago I felt good with reed as my backup to Cameron. Now with the roles reversed I don't feel confident at all.

And the answer was Ladarius Green.

I went with Carlson - am now letting him go.

Any updates on Reed's condition? Seems reasonable to expect him back this week, right?

Kellen Winslow for me...
Not meaning to single out FUBAR since he is just one of many, but come on guys. Is anyone actually interested in whom everyone will be starting in place of Jordan Reed?
Uh...yea..I'm sure many Reed owners are interested in what others are doing for a replacement. What was the point of your post exactly? Not like FUBAR was posting AC material.... Yea it's the fantasy playoff time, Reed is a key starter for much of us...I am absolutely interested in what other owners are doing right now.

Are you a bag? Perhaps a box?

Unfortunately one of my leagues rosters are already locked...rolling with Delanie Walker if Reed is out.

The point of my post was hopefully to stop the ridiculous “I’m rolling with ______” posts that were being fired off one after the other here and seem to be infiltrating every “hype” or player thread when a player gets injured or is on bye.

What random backup TE a “Shark” happens to have on their roster or on the waiver wire, in their particular league, to start in place of an injured Jordan Reed is not relevant to the hype of Jordan Reed or Jordan Reed’s prospects (at least I didn’t think so).

Ok, rant over.

So assuming the amount of information known about Reed's concussion and status is finite, what would you like to talk about?

I'm rolling with this.

Okay this week?
It's like total radio silence. I'm basically presuming he'll play.

Tell you this much - the Skins and Griffin realy need him more than ever right now. If they knew what was good for them they would send him a steady diet of targets, keep the pressure off Griffin, and make him, Morris and Pierre the three corners of their offense.

Although dangerous, I assume that the Redskins didn't practice yesterday, and that they will practice today. So I would further assume that we should know something more today?

From Rotoworld:

Jordan Reed - TE - Redskins

Jordan Reed (concussion) was participating in the early part of practice Wednesday.

Now we know Reed has been cleared for exercise. As long as he gets clearance for contact and then makes it through the week without symptoms, he'll be ready to go for Sunday night's game against the Giants. Averaging 5.5 catches for 60.8 yards with three touchdowns in the eight full games he's played in this year, Reed will be a fine TE1 play.

Good to have you back Reed.

If you look at the stats, the Giants have technically been stingy vs. the TE over the past month or so. Before last week (vs. DAL), they hadn't allowed a reception touchdown over the past four games period (a lot of people chalk it up to their competition). The streak broke with Witten (4/37/2) and I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if Reed joined him in developing a new trend.

Nice to have Reed back. But I still need to see a good week from him to prove he's not limited or on a snap count. And RG3 has been straight garbage lately. It's hard to trust this offense to get it going. Reed was a luxury flex on my Gronk team. He may be once again, but I can't trust Reed just yet in my lineup. Prove it to me Jordan. Blow up my bench.

Exactly. The past 5 opponents have been DAL, GB, OAK, PHIL, MIN. Of those, Dallas is the only one with a talented TE that is a mainstay on the offense. I wouldn't read too much into the numbers. I'm more worried about RG3s incompetence than any particular strength a DEF might have against TEs specifically.

Maybe part of the reason Mr. Griffin strugged on mnf was because Reed was inactive. Hmmmm?

No more Hankerson, Reed will be option number 2 on this offense. Plug and play unless you have somoene better would be MY advice.
