i'm pulling for coles also, but man...that's one big what-if you got going there. No bold predictions like last week when I turned up w/ egg on my face (predicted Lav would have a minimum of 65-75 yards). He will absolutely play. And, his stats last week were only 1 catch for 5 yards. However, he was targeted two other times:1. A sideline streak route where he drew a pass interference flag. Had he not been interfered with it would have been a 20 yard reception and possibly a few more yards after the catch.2. A redzone post pattern that Favre anticipated almost too well because as Lav took a hard jab step outside and cut in on the post, the ball was already there and hit Coles on the thigh pad the very second Lav got his head around. He just, just got his hand on it as it hit his leg. If that ball was thrown .5 seconds later Coles would have had a TD reception.3 receptions for 40 yards and a TD isn't earth shattering, but he certainly didn't play as bad as his 1 reception for 5 yard stat line would indicate.
Brad Smith. When we were in 2 WR sets last week, Coles wasn't even on the field every time. When he wasn't, Brad Smith was opposite Cotchery and has been all preseason. So, who starts if Coles sits? Stuckey? He was the only other WR to do anything last week.
Smith had 0 targets last week. You don't find that troubling?Brad Smith. When we were in 2 WR sets last week, Coles wasn't even on the field every time. Didn't say I like the matchup or that I would start him on my team. You asked a pointed question, "Who starts if Coles doesn't?" I just answered your question. 0 targets last week or not, that is who will start.Smith had 0 targets last week. I'm not sure this is true - Smith has fallen off in NY and it's Stuckey would get the time... Smith was in there last week for the "specialty" plays. Smith isn't really turning into the WR they thought.Didn't say I like the matchup or that I would start him on my team. You asked a pointed question, "Who starts if Coles doesn't?" I hate Smith and think he should be behind Stuckey on the depth chart also. It is just too bad Mangini doesn't agree. Smith will start if Coles can't (but he will). However, if Coles only plays say 50% of the 2 WR sets, Brad Smith (against my and many Jets' fans wishes) will be on the field opposite Cotchery.Nothing I said up until this post was my opinion of what I'd like to see or who I'd start if forced to for my fantasy team. I'm just stating the facts of how the Jets depth chart is set up like it or not.I'm not sure this is true - Smith has fallen off in NY and it's Stuckey would get the time... I am benching Coles for Bryant Johnson. Coles is my #3 WR w/ Horseradish and Marshall my 1 and 2 WR's. I'll take a #1 WR at Seattle over a gimpy Coles.I know I'm not adding anything here and I'm not trying to be a ####, but can we please keep this a thread about Coles' status and not a Brad Smith topic.
Yes, let's start multiple threads about Brad Smith, Chansi Stuckey, Brad Smith vs. Chansi Stuckey, and Do You Think Wayne Chrebet Might Unretire?I know I'm not adding anything here and I'm not trying to be a ####, but can we please keep this a thread about Coles' status and not a Brad Smith topic.

Favre still has his fastball.2. A redzone post pattern that Favre anticipated almost too well because as Lav took a hard jab step outside and cut in on the post, the ball was already there and hit Coles on the thigh pad the very second Lav got his head around.
