Gotta love people drafting to avoid Geddy Lee's vocals.
Almost took this one in every round so far, but figured the category was deep enough to where I could get something later. This song is an all-time favorite of mine though. Love the pick5.05 - Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac (Person's Name)
By the way that is a live version from 1976 - if you hang through the middle you'll get Buckingham tearing it up at about th3 3:15 mark.
Also here is a demo with Nicks on piano and I'm assuming high as a kite talking about the witch the song is named after and talking to Lindsey.

Wait, when did this happen? We're doing unifying themes? ####.
OK, our theme is has NYC ties.
Optional? Some have been doing it. I thought NYC would be a natural for our team as we've lived here 28 & 15 years. Apparently I was mistaken.Wait, when did this happen? We're doing unifying themes? ####.

I didn't either, and actually have a few of their songs on my ipod, including a Christmas song. Like this one too.Had no idea they were Danalish= great band.
However you want to play it gbGot my Z's mixed up. Sorry, GB.Don't blame me, I just want to hear about animals!I'm not sure where all the confusion lies in this category though. It's pretty cut and dry. Kashmir seems like maybe an "ironic" deep cut selection. Nice work outsnobbing the field this round.Anyway, not my pick or my category - that's just like, my opinion, man. JZilla defined the cat as whether it charted. This fits the definition.

re: animal - how literal are you thinking here? Animal behavior work? Animal characteristics?
NIN
Sounds like Stone Temple Pilots with a chick.I think it's a rock song.Is that really a Blues tune? This is the first one in the Cat that speaka my language... really not liking the other ones at all.Gotta represent the 'nati.I knew you were going to take them as your female blues pick. Wasn't sure which song though.![]()

Avoiding Geddy's vocals also avoids Neal's lyrics. It's a win-win.Gotta love people drafting to avoid Geddy Lee's vocals.
Did I miss something? Nyc? Ok... I'm game. But you have to do Rush.Optional? Some have been doing it. I thought NYC would be a natural for our team as we've lived here 28 & 15 years. Apparently I was mistaken.Wait, when did this happen? We're doing unifying themes? ####.

Best guitar tone ever? Was also on my list.
First time I've been 'sniped' in this draft.
Ke$ha does a good version of thisOK, time to show two of my favorite ladies some love here.
First off, one of the best blues' voices I have ever heard:
2.22 Susan Tedeschi "Don't Think Twice" (Post 2003 female blues)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yKTAzY4KMc
This is a cover of the Dylan classic "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" which, in it's original form, is actually a blues standard sung in folk style. Tedeschi brings it back to the blues.)
I was going to use this one or one other for this cat. Like Brittnay!Subject to tentative approval from Simey....
5.20 - Alabama Shakes - "I Ain't the Same" (Female Blues 03-14)

I got Rush. And 3 movements, which will surely be prog rock. Anything else you need the dinosaur to handle for the team?Did I miss something? Nyc? Ok... I'm game. But you have to do Rush.Optional? Yeah, this is a good test case. This is pretty much straight R&B in the Muscle Shoals style.Subject to tentative approval from Simey....

Love all of the 1971 picks so far, especially this one.
KP Go ahead & pick.I can attempt to take his slot.
Gl Usual.
Usual didn't make any picks so you can make five picks at your convenienceup to you. I have 3 categories in mind if we want to go that route.
I assume I keep his picks?
if I am otc, you can skip over while I collect my thoughts...
Usual made at least 2 picks. Not sure if he made anymore.1.22 - Welcome to the Jungle, Guns N Roses - Scream
Right at the start of the song, Axl Rose just nails it...then holds it forever. Great start to a song.
2.01 - Brooklyn Zoo, ODB - Wu-Tang Solo
did you want my category ideas before ruling on that?Usual didn't make any picks so you can make five picks at your convenienceup to you. I have 3 categories in mind if we want to go that route.

we letting me pick a new one?And now I no longer have to post to a YouTube video of a claymation hamburger playing Van Halen.
I remember watching this video daily during the summer of 1991 on "The Box", the MTV alternative where you could pay to choose a video, but also just watch as videos popped up. Man was it over the top, but 11 year old Bogart loved it.Time to get religious
Religious songs/Non-religious artists
Couldn't have also placed this in Scandanavian, Awful lyrics you love (My Guinness record breaker?????)
and Prince song (a bit of a stretch, but one of the 3 loves to wear purple and is trying hard to look like Prince - Musically nowhere near it)
2.06 - Army of Lovers - Crucified - 3:32
I'll throw what I was thinking to you for the 3-movement thing.. I wasn't sold on it, but it came to mind- happy enough to get some prog in my pog..I got Rush. sorry to hear. I hope its not too serious...Hey Eephus,
I'm gonna have to drop from this draft. Received some personal bad news that will not let me participate fully. Sorry if it causes any hiccups.
I hope you know or listened to that instrumental. It features Lee's bass. Lifeson and Peart are reserved (for them), and it hits all the right notes. It was nominated for a grammy early 90s. It's my favorite Rush song, and I would have wrote it up, but I was in pain (ankle injury yesterday). I may switch it to post 90s instrumental and use more than one Rush tune.Gotta love people drafting to avoid Geddy Lee's vocals.
I'm good with it. The AS weave a lot of blues into their music, and Brittany can really let loose in their live shows.Steve Tasker said:Subject to tentative approval from Simey....

I find Rush as annoying as anyone, but the musicianship is incredible.
