Jason La Canfora reports:

Receiver Malcolm Kelly has suffered another setback in his recovery from knee problems, Jim Zorn said, and the Redskins could opt to put him on the injured reserve list, ending his season, by the end of the week.

Kelly was unable to practice today after his knee swelled again, Zorn said. It has been drained frequently since preseasoin knee surgery and Kelly has been unable to play or practice regularly. He will undergo another MRI today.

"It swelled up again in the last couple of days" Zorn said, saying the team will decide whether to continue giving Kelly time to get healthy or opt for "another guy."

The fact that Kelly, a second-round pick (51st overall pick) out of Oklahoma, has had problems running correct routes in practice and had lagged in learning the offense may work against him. The Skins could re-sign Maurice Mann or Burl Toler (both free agents were here in camp) should they opt to end Kelly's season.
Anyone dropping him in dynasty leagues?

Shocking.

Washington's scouting staff hasn't had any significant picks in years before this past one.

It showed.

Drafting a guy who came in with a Degenerative knee condition, BRILLIANT.

What on earth are you talking about?

It still says he may go to IR, same as last week. He's not there yet.

If he goes on IR, I don't see why anyone would drop him in a dynasty. Unless your rosters are so tight, and there isn't an IR option, I don't see any reason not to keep him until next year.

They had the 6th pick in 2007, didn't have a first in 2006 (traded to get Campbell IIRC), had the 9th pick in 2005, and the 5th pick in 2004. Top 10 picks aren't significant?ETA: They had the 21st pick this past year and traded it.

Jim Zorn said the Redskins will rest rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly through the bye week and then decide whether to put him on the injured-reserve list after that.

Zorn said they will push him hard in practice when he comes back to the field and are hoping for the best, but admitted, "it's heading towards ending his season."
