Marshawn Lynch Back Spasms? (1 Viewer)

Anyone got any more scoop on this? An entire week leading up to your critical preseason game and you can't practice? I draft tomorrow and I'm sitting with picks 1/12, 2/01. I've been looking at him and Graham as my back-to-back. But this report from today has me backtracking a bit on Lynch.

good old Marshawn. I still recall the game last year where he hurt his back after 1:00 pm and line-ups had already locked.

It isn't really a critcial game for an entrenched veteran.

What game was that? I did not own him last season, so I don't know, but it looks like he did not miss a game last year...

He got paid. Now back to the old lazy Marshawn.

Yup, he was a trendy pick that week v the putrid Browns D, expected to carve them up (he had really done nothing to this point in the season) and somehow he gets back spasms during the National Anthem, and the news doesn't break till 1:03 EST on Twitter. LOCKED. It may be juvenile, but regardless of his hot finish last year, I can't forget that nasty 0 he laid on me, and he likely won't be on any of my teams.

Especially now that I've heard that this issue is back. (Get it...back?)

Browns. He's had back problems off and on his whole career. Worrisome as he ages.
yep...sat down in my seat and saw him on the sidelines...was most likely the single reason I missed the playoffs last year :ptts:I have called him Marshawn "the biggest ##### in the world" Lynch ever since.

I think it's a bit ridiculous the feedback a running back gets for having back spasms. Many running backs get them. Many. I'm confident in him as a second round pick with consistent production.

Not really. Name me 5 other starting RBs that have missed practice or game time for back spasms over the last year.

Adrian Peterson missed practice with lower back spasms as well. I just think its Carroll being smart, letting him heal through it.

The point is he's had a back issue for years and it finally became prolematic enough that he had to miss a game last year. He's still getting them now. Anyone that has dealt with back issues knows that they often don't happen all of a sudden, they slowly creep up on you and never go away. Taking a blind eye to this report is a mistake, might not mean anything immediately or even this year but there's a stronger likelihood than other backs. Has to be accounted for.

Welp. Less than a week later, Marshawn Lynch is my RB1 :) Started QB-WR-WR from 1.03, and sat and watched Lynch tumble and tumble and tumble. Finally I made a move, trading up in round 4 to snag Lynch at 4.06. And despite my earlier comments, feeling really good about the move, and about Lynch this season. That seattle team looks hungry.
