Seriously?I'm a bit surprised by this move. Woodhead always seemed like a big Jets guy (even though they keep cutting him), I'm a bit shocked he's burn that bridge at this point.

Woodhead, a third-year player out of Chadron State, was waived by the Jets on Tuesday. Woodhead is a soldier, hope he gets some carries in that backfield.I'm a bit surprised by this move. Cant believe Im agreeing with a Jets fan, but agreed. And the jets didnt trade for Oconnell just for info, whoever said that.I always felt the Jets didn't give Woodhead enough playing time, and why he never returned punts is a real mystery to me. He goes down pretty easy, but he's fast and shifty. He also plays with an amount of reckless abandon. Sorry to see him go. I don't think this is a revenge move by BB. He is far too calculating for that. There isn't much time to pick his brains at this point anyway. If Woodhead belongs in the NFL, Belicik will find a way to use him.
yeah, you don't get to be a team capt just by ratting out your old team.Cant believe Im agreeing with a Jets fan, but agreed. Am I missing something, besides the Letter does the team captain actually get anything?yeah, you don't get to be a team capt just by ratting out your old team.Cant believe Im agreeing with a Jets fan, but agreed. Actually, I disagree for defensive purposes. If Woodhead, Belichick and Mayo sit down and talk about the audible calls- Mayo can yell out- "It is a run left" before the snap. The isn't much time to change all the calls, but there is more than enough time to learn two or three calls where the shift from pass to run or run to pass. There isn't much time to pick his brains at this point anyway.
Oh you mean like the time when Anthony Smith mouthed off on the Steelers and Brady went to Moss over Smith all game... like that? Please BB does this stuff all the time and he for sure holds grudges and doesn't forget anything anyone does to trip up his endless quest for complete and total perfection.I always felt the Jets didn't give Woodhead enough playing time, and why he never returned punts is a real mystery to me. Yaknowwhat; watch him stick.I love that guy. Hope he sees some action, he's fun to watch.
Not sure why this needs clarification. The Jets are the only team that have shown Woodhead any love in his whole career. By signing with the Pats just prior to playing the Jets, the Jets organization will see that as a slap in the face, regardless of whether Woodhead actually helps the Pats learn the Jet's offensive calls. So, effectively, Woodhead has burned the only bridge to a regular gig that he's had over the last 3 years.Huh?I'm a bit surprised by this move. Woodhead always seemed like a big Jets guy (even though they keep cutting him), I'm a bit shocked he's burn that bridge at this point.
Yeah, obviously is Brady throws to Randy Moss a lot, it must be because of some kind of grudge.Oh you mean like the time when Anthony Smith mouthed off on the Steelers and Brady went to Moss over Smith all game... like that? Yeah, you're right, he should just sit at home playing COD hoping the Jets give him a camp spot next year. Not sure why this needs clarification. Yeah, I'm sure that had nothing to do with Brady going to Moss and Smith sucking and NE trying to win the game. The only motive was revenge. Nothing else!Oh you mean like the time when Anthony Smith mouthed off on the Steelers and Brady went to Moss over Smith all game... like that? If you watched that game it was obvious there was a grudge. Whether it was McDaniels calling the plays or Brady just going after Smith, they abused the kid and then Brady got in Smith's face after a TD grab. Good times. And whether Belichick plans to keep Woodhead or not, he definitely has the coaching staff prying him for info.Yeah, obviously is Brady throws to Randy Moss a lot, it must be because of some kind of grudge.Oh you mean like the time when Anthony Smith mouthed off on the Steelers and Brady went to Moss over Smith all game... like that? The emphasis placed on it was definitely grudge worthy. Especially Brady's mannerisms. You can paint it all day however you want but BB and the Pats want this one bad. Signing Woodhead is the equivalent to the way the Jets signed O'Connell last year and you arn't going to convince me any differently. Does that mean that there is no use for Woodhead in NE?... maybe, maybe not I don't disagree with you and others stating that BB will find a use for Woodhead I just doubt it is a significant one.Yeah, I'm sure that had nothing to do with Brady going to Moss and Smith sucking and NE trying to win the game. Just saying I think some fans are a little paranoid. I'm sure Brady liked owning Smith, but it's not like they wouldn't have been throwing to Moss anyways since Smith was bad in that game. If that's your idea of a "grudge," then okay. The emphasis placed on it was definitely grudge worthy. Especially Brady's mannerisms. Belichik can hold a grudge, no doubt. What I am saying is that he won't use a roster spot soley for the purpose of revenge, he is too calculating for that. He either thinks Woodhead can contribute or picking his brain is worth it, or both. Woodhead owes the Jets nothing. They cut him. Is he supposed to quietly retire now? I hope the Jets win 24-7 and Woodhead scores a TD. Or two.Oh you mean like the time when Anthony Smith mouthed off on the Steelers and Brady went to Moss over Smith all game... like that? I think the only thing we can say for certain is that Sammy Morris will be worthless as long as Fred Taylor is healthy. So other than the fact the the Pats couldn't run for squat v the Jets, what are we to make of the 2-1 advantage in carries for BJGE over Fred?
Yeah, but with Maroney gone and Taylor's injury history, BGE isn't a bad guy to stash on the roster.Avoid all Pats RBs. Seriously has there been one startable in the past 4-5 seasons? Unless you're playing in 20 team leagues with 15 player starting lineups you might as well buy a lottery ticket.
You don't need to know anyone to notice that the Pats running back production has not been great so far. They rank 29th in the league in team fantasy points scored by RBs. Four teams have doubled up the Pats RB scoring. It's still early, but factor in the RBBC aspect of the NE backfield, and there has not been much pie to split among multiple backs. The total numbers may not change much if the Pats continue to look to pass early and often like they did against the Jets (2 to 1 passing ratio). Some people seem to think their speculation or eye for talent is superior to others. Benjarvus is talented. Yes, I watch the same games as you. Your word isn't some how more important because you know a guy who's cousin is a janitor for the organization. Someone has to say it. I'm tired of reading Pats threads and listening to the same guy talk to others as if he's sitting on the bench during the games and in the locker room during meetings.
In fairness, they have played the Bengals and Jets. The sledding will get easier for the running game.David Yudkin said:You don't need to know anyone to notice that the Pats running back production has not been great so far. Well played, sirLooks like Faulk could be out for awhile - if nothing else, it could mean more billable hours for Law Firm.

Agreed but in alot of leagues out there the guy who gets these touches will be valuable. Remember Corey Dillon once had value as the Pats starter. If it happens and you get the right guys he will be worth something. The worst running back situation in the bidness (fantasy-wise)....Pass.
