Great thread idea after we finish this one.I have contemplated a song tourney here based around best use of saxophone (non-jazz). This likely would be a number 1 seed.
sniped ...I knew I waited too long dammitRound 9: Wild card
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I'd never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I'd never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love (this girl is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love (this girl is only gonna break your heart)
With you
With you (this girl is only gonna break your heart)
What a wicked game you played to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do to make me dream of you
And I don't want to fall in love (this girl is only gonna break your heart)

One song that immediately springs to mind features dancing on a bar in a "children's" movie. It's a loaded category
Did anybody tell you that this is the private club of The Satan's Helpers? One song that immediately springs to mind features dancing on a bar in a "children's" movie.
Dropping the hammer on us with that pickRD 8
Cheating: Tempted - Squeeze
Love Glenn but Paul Carrack is the guy for this song. One of my top shower songs.
woke up to a double snipe this morning (noon) - had them locked inDropping the hammer on us with that pick
Do it based on songs that feature specific non-standard instruments? Sax, Horns, etc. I'm sure others can come up with other categories.Great thread idea after we finish this one.I have contemplated a song tourney here based around best use of saxophone (non-jazz). Could do that, too, although sax could be a draft on its own. Sax will have tons much more material than say, the triangle.Do it based on songs that feature specific non-standard instruments? Sax, Horns, etc. I'm sure others can come up with other categories.
True, but you could have it be something like this where you have multiple picks per category, with more for categories like Sax.Could do that, too, although sax could be a draft on its own. Sax will have tons much more material than say, the triangle.
How many songs featuring a saw can we find?True, but you could have it be something like this where you have multiple picks per category, with more for categories like Sax.
My friend used to really love that video for what he thought was its sheer stupidity. I liked metal (not Jackyl) and he was a hardcore kid. He would yell out, "Hey Rock," and make that damn chainsaw noise over and over. Rrrruuuh-ruuuuh-ruuuuh-ruuuh-ruh.Jackyl’s Greatest Hits
I had one queued up for this morning's pick. I'll take it later.Seems like just about every song the National has recorded could be a first rounder
That lead guy from Jackyl was on a show called Full Throttle Saloon. Did you ever see that on TruTV? The Jackyl guy, Jesse, was a partner with the Saloon owner Michael. The saloon (known as the world's largest biker bar) was on this huge piece of property with stages, cabins, etc. in Sturgis, SD. It was a week long bike rally that was filmed and ran for a few years until the place burned down. I think it has been rebuilt. Anyway, there was some colorful people there.Jackyl’s Greatest Hits
Amazing response. I think I would make the chainsaw a separate category from the hand saw out of respect for their very different musical timber.Jackyl’s Greatest Hits
for sound.Beautiful imagery. The language of love
Has left me stony gray
Tongue tied and twisted
At the price I've had to pay
Your careless notions
Have silenced these emotions
Look at all the foolishness
Your lover's talk has done
I thought you meant this songHarry Wayne Casey is in the house, and he is wiredfor sound.
Round 10
Leaving
Please Don't Go - KC and the Sunshine Band
They were supposed to play a free concert to kick off the ACC tournament here this past March, but it was cancelled. I was ready to put on my boogie shoes and shake my booty.
I need your love
I'm down on my knees
Beggin' please, please, please
Don't go
Don't you hear me, baby
Don't leave me now
Oh, no, no, no, no
Please don't go
I want you to know
That I, I, I love you sooooooo
Der kommisar’s in townGot in the disco earlier. Now for some 1990s dance pop

Round Nine
Thanks. Been working on a Maria playlist and never heard of this song.
@Charlie Steiner took it in this draft, though sung by Chris Isaak. Dunno if you knew or if it matters - just passing it onR10 - cheating
Let's keep it going with the all time greats.
I feel like I may have taken this in a previous draft but it's perfect here, basically fits the feel of my list (even if the genres are slightly different) and it's been a while.
Solitary Man - Neil Diamond

I searched for Neil. now, precisely whose aim was true in that, then?RD 10
